I put my wife in the driver's seat when attempting to back in a spot. I know where it needs to go, when to turn when my feet are on the ground. She knows the hand signals and knows when to stop when we lose visual of each other. Usually the main driver knows how to manuver the combination into a spot, but when you're blind side is tight, swap drivers and you'll be able to manuver in place. It works great for us. No arguments!

We are glad you found a system that works for you. Unfortunately, I have never towed the fifth wheel and am terrified to do so. Larry is super comfortable towing and parking. We do need to work on hand signals and maybe use walkie talkies. Thanks for sharing your experience, Alice

Hey Brian, i wish the resolution and bit rate were higher, there may be a system with a better picture, but this one is good enough to give visualization when parking. When moving at high speed the low bit rate can’t keep up. Lar

Good video...thanks...I am lucky.. my DP comes with side and rear camera so I don't have to do all that work. I rarely have any use for the side cameras but the rear camera is a saving device for driving and backing up.

LOL I heard Larry's raised voice up here. He is loud. I like the door camera myself. Lets you know who is there and also for backing in to make sure you are in a good spot for your door to open with the steps. Wow that was a killer line on buying or not. Sounds like something I would say. lol Just messing with yeah. Wow you have 3 hands Larry? That must come in handy for sure. Did you 3D print that 3rd hand? lol Oh that was Alice. I just heard you confirm. I 100% agree with drilling a pilot hole. Just avoids issues. We have the factory installed system. I don't use it all the time but I do like having it. I like this system as well. Looks really solid. Great share. Now go warm up.

William, you know Larry. Everyone things he’s such a sweetheart but he can get loud and mean 😂. You made a great point about the safety light, especially since it’s right above the door. It lets you know if your stairs are in a good spot. Larry does know his DIY- he tries to be very thorough. We are looking forward to testing it more so we can give an honest and informed review. The main rule when parking alone is GOAL, Get Out And Look. You can never do this too much but having the camera system does take the stress out a little, more information is always better. Good luck. Larry

@@DownsizingMakesCents - ALWAYS... I'm use to backing, even into my trailer storage spot alone... seems when there is a fellow camper that wants to help, it makes it worse... LOL

Love the video! We have a backup can that I mostly use for situational awareness as a rear view camera when trucking down the road.

Our rig total length is 41 feet. Rv plus truck. We use our phones to direct while backing into a site. We havent had a fight yet! Lol I'm sure this will be good for larger rigs.

Deb, the biggest problem is how loud the dually is- plus my directions seem to be unclear. We don’t actually fight about it- that’s why I said we were just kidding. But I have seen some other couples sound non too happy 😬 Alice

We had a 3 camera system installed when we bought our fifth wheel and we love it for backing the trailer in to sites, our storage bay etc. But we are installing a 5 camera system that connects to our wireless router for security. One on each corner and one above the door. This lets us keep an eye on things from any location and notifies me on my phone when motion is detected.

I wish there was a smart way to temporarily attach the screen to the rear view mirror of the truck while towing. The driver is used to looking in that mirror normally and would make the rear view camera more natural. DOES THIS CAMERA SET UP COME WITH A CAMERA THAT CAN BE ATTACHED TO THE FURION MOUNT THAT IS ALREADY ON THE CAMPER? Since this would make patching of holes unnecessary.

Use a multimeter to confirm polarity of wires from the rv. Larry

Only 720p for that price with latency? Wish it were 4k resolution.

I agree i wish the bit rate and resolution were much better, but its good enough to help you back in. 4K would be awesome but i think i would be ok with 1080p with i high bit rate so there was not all that blurriness when moving. Larry

David, honestly, this was the one that was offered us. But it is very popular. If we don’t think it will work for us, we will look at the Furion. They are very similar though

Interesting that you used the repeater, seems like more things to fail. I have the Furrion on a 40-foot 5th wheel and the total distance from the rear camera to the cab is about 57 feet and I have zero dropouts and great video. Not sure what you had before but will look forward to your review later down the line.

The transmitter for the rear camera is not a repeater, it is just a remote transmitter so you can use the extension cable if you need it. How is the picture quality in the Furr ion. The camera i had before was terrible, the picture quality was unusable for backing up and i got constant drop outs, this system is a huge improvement. Thanks for your input. Larry

It really acts as my rear view mirror when driving and changing lanes. I do have the 7” display but it would be nice if Furrion had included a recording feature.

Ben, that’s a question we have never been asked. Larry never liked jewelry. He wore his for less than a year. I used to wear mine all the time, along with my engagement ring. But with all the activities we do, I didn’t want to lose or damage it. I still wear them when we go out - which since COVID we don’t do that much. Very interesting that you noticed, Alice
