I heard they literally can't add anything new to the sandbox bc the fired the lead manager in charge of that division, and without a manager in that department, they can't green light any new weapons or vehicles

Man I felt that when you said “lacking the motivation to play” I’ve played so much ever since launch and I’m trying to have fun with the game still but it’s been tough. We need the banished shotgun or anything to help keep the game fresh!

​ @FootedGhost Doesn't help there isn't any incentive really for f2p players, even if you bought the seasons, the early ones don't give you any points and the newest ones don't either and are smaller in comparison, and just in general I feel like this hole games cosmetics aren't good, most if not all the good cool armor sets and attachments are locked behind the store. and compared to previous games *Cough reach Cough* like there really isn't even a reason to play, you aren't even unlocking points like mcc and you aren't even unlocking cool weapons skins like Call of duty, I know odd to bring up cod but still. at least you have that to unlock.

Fr and the fact that easy anti cheat had already been bypassed on MCC and 343 STILL put it in infinite is mind boggling. We had less cheaters when we had arbiter but now we got a flood of them with easy anti cheat. Easy anti cheat more like easy to cheat

I love infinite but i already know this is going be a $200+ store update.

Have they hired a new sandbox lead and sound designer? Without those roles filled, theres no way we get a new weapon or vehicle.

I understand what you mean about not having a drive to play Infinite, I just try to complete the weekly challenge so I can go back to MCC. We really need more content…

Yep, and it's kind of why I'm focusing on mod content now, Infinite just doesn't have much to offer atm in terms of content!

After they announced they would stop with seasons, I deinstalled the game and never looked back.

It looks like the new armor is just going to be on the Mark VII core, not a new core.

The match composer will make this a good update imo, looking forward to that at least

@@FootedGhost Man, at this point I don't know. Like, even my girlfriend who is far more optimistic than I am has lost alot of hope for Halo Infinite. She even likes the Halo show despite all the changes whereas I'm middle of the road on it. I would have loved a proper Mk VI core and even a Gen 2 core (even if I don't personally like it) but we've both been turned into doomers for Infinite. I think that last slot won't be filled. It really doesn't help that we both started Helldivers 2 about 2 weeks ago now and she literally asked me "Why is this better than Halo?" when the intro finished. And even though I thought it, it was a shot in the heart hearing it from her of all people. It was kind of a realization that as much as we loved Infinite and played frequently since the public flights, I even defended the game as the best value for a live service (until seasons were dropped) then jumping onto HD2, we gained some perspective on how bad things are. What's worse is that I'm a sucker for Banished stuff. Loved them since Halo Wars 2. My favorite color scheme was always black/steel and red. I saw this and I was just. Numb to it man. I haven't even finished the Yappening and I finished nearly every event up until now (missed out on Cybershowdown 1 and Winter Contngency 1) Sorry to be a doomer with all this. At this point, all I ask is that they pull a overwatch 2 when it comes to the cosmetics and port them into the next game. I don't want to start from scratch especially when I invested money into a game that was meant to last longer than this.

343 *better* cook this time. Welp, guess ill be dishing out money again...to buy data addon packs to download this update lol, not to buy something ridiculously priced in the Shop. And one thing I do agree with you, these updates do really feel like just glorified Battle Passes, now that Seasons are gone and the more thematic approach to the game in each update is now basically non-existent (at least it's not on the level it once used to be). Lastly, now that they're not focusing on, like, big updates anymore, and they can adjust the flow of content as they see fit, I feel this is a beyond just a misssd opportunity that they aren't doing more on the gameplay side of things - case in point, the sandbox. Bring on the older weapons, the older vehicles, finish up with the WIP content that didn't make it into the game (like the Banished vehicle, the Skiff) (and oh, how I miss my beloved M739 SAW). There'd be still so much more they can do, but they refuse to do it because of the "idea" of a more concise and cohesive sandbox (also they don't have the people to write the code at all, so that adds insult to injury). I don't wish to be too pessimistic and whiny with my comment (and I'm sorry if I do), but...this ain't it, Chief.

There are like three nearly finished Banished weapons in the game that I know of, as well as that Skiff vehicle. This would be an idea update to bring one or two of those to the game. Also, considering we got Gruntpocalypse not too long ago, do you think we’ll get Skirmigeddon at some point too?

The fact that the falcon and the DB are so close to being done and have been for a very long time, it'd be disappointing to not see them both before the game is no longer supported

Also the game was supposed to be a 10 year plan. They were never given the chance to execute their vision

And that 10 year journey doesn't justify anything especially since that was said by someone who left 343 before the gane even released let alone apparently lied to Bonnie about the progression of development with infinite

Forge games is what save for me. I was on an infected run yesterday. It was a lot of fun to see infected Razorbacks chasing Mongoose survivors while everyone collided all the time and fell into the lakes, dying and becoming infected. But in multiplayer I'm even playing well again, which captivates me a little. But maybe not for long...

The only stuff i played in halo in the last 3 months was 2 matches of gruntpocalypse and the rest was only custom games

1 or 2 things or both things are probably coming out next week. Either Match Composer or The Exchange will come out or both of them 🤞

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who has taken a break from the game considering it’s current state. Tbh I probably would’ve kept playing it if I could find matches in any playlist but I can’t purely cause of where I live.

I've been hoping for a mcc style match composer for infinite, I've never had good match loading times (AUS btw) and being able to search multiple game modes at once will be a huge help. However, I've also lacked the motivation to play for a myriad of reasons and unless we get some new sandbox items, that's unlikely to change.

I agree. I haven't had motivation to play this game since they added The Non-retroactive progression system. It was a huge nail in the coffin for my desire to play infinite because the fact that they stopped doing seasons the moment they achieved "Seasonality" after 2.5 years just makes the game feel like its on the way out. It absolutely killed my desire to play the game.

Just watch the stream it’s minor balancing changes some new pallets for forge….. and more promises that features that are over three years late are still being worked on.

Hoping for more Forge updates personally. Campaign AI truly is revolutionary, but now that the game is pretty much entirely relying on Forgers for content, they need to fix some bugs and give us more tools. Flood pallet will be awesome as well whenever it releases.

we need more guns and vehicles. halo reach big team battle is fun because of vehicles that actually need multiple people, the only one like that is the warthog

Been lacking the drive too. I've played Infinite since launch, and I just feel empty playing it when it should be much more fun after the fixes. Infinite just breaks my heart man, I got no idea how the next updates gonna go, but I hope it's more than a shop update with sprinkles of genuine content.

I Totally understand the lack of motivation to play infinite, I’ve been super busy and haven’t had a chance to grind, which isn’t exactly the same, but I’m getting pretty close to hero (currently onyx Brigadier general grade 3) and once I reach it I’m not entirely sure what I’ll do, if I’ll still play, or if I’ll be interested in the future of infinite.

Hopefully your mileage may vary, but I ended up finding the customizations on the mk6 reward kind of underwhelming when I finished a few weeks ago. Relatively few of the coatings suit it well. I'll still dip in to unlock decent weeklies and probably keep finishing the operation passes, but my interest dropped 90% or so with the end of the career rank track.

I just love hopping on the walmart forge map and either 1v1ing or playing nuclear football with my friends

The cinematic looks alot like Unreal engine 5! Do you think they made the switch?

I don't know about this cutscene in particular, but I do know 343 switched to unreal engine 5 back in 2023 for the next mainline Halo game. The next Halo title won't be using slipspace like Infinite, instead it'll be UE5 👍

O god no. Thankfully that will never happen with Infinite.

What's insane is the ratio of free armor to paid armor ever since Season 6 (im not calling it CU29). We'll get 1 free set from the operation, and somewhere between 6 and 9 NEW armors in the store. They're wasting so much of their time and effort just bloating the store with stuff when they could have kept putting at least half those armors in with a battle pass and left the other half to die in the store. Mk IV literally had 9 new armors and 1 free set: about 90% of the new armor core was behind a hard paywall. God i hate saying that I miss the battle pass but this new model just multiplied their greed

I’m with the community in wanting new weapons but expectations is where I disagree. They ain’t promised new weapons or vehicles and the ones in leaks were stuff we wasn’t supposed to see and there was no timeframe for it. Same with campaign dlc. Again literally never happened ever for halo unless you wanna count odst. I agree with shop prices but my bigger concern is when we have 2 weeks at best to buy them and they’re gone forever. The game was free to play and costed a half a billion dollars. Y’all should’ve seen that coming. What we should be saying is don’t make halo free to play and watch the budget

I get that they didn't promise sandbox additions, but finishing what was supposed to be the end of the reclaimer trilogy on a cliffhanger and marketing it as "the platform for the next ten years of the IP" heavily implied PvE DLC. I get that it was Microsoft's call rather than the studio's to pull the plug on that by laying off all the campaign devs, but it's still a bait-and-switch for those who bought the campaign. I agree on hoping they'll learn lessons not to go F2P again though. Helldivers sure seems to be raking in money on a cheap game with cheap mtx and making their money through volume rather than margins. Too bad 343 seems incapable of making a product good enough to go earn that kind of volume.

A cliffhanger simply means there’s gonna be a new game like how halo 2 ended on a cliffhanger and we got halo 3. And heavily disagree with that last sentence.

God I hope we get the Banished double barrel shotgun, I'm not holding my breath but still. Also man it's fine not playing the game for a couple weeks, no point in making anything if you don't have any passion in it at the moment .

p.s. all tho 2 be 100% it would also be nice if i chould finely finsh up my hazmat flood spartan i,v been working on who i loveingly call jarry. before you judge. its a joke i made that my spartan team is part of a top secret oni fire team. and Jarry was the one oni deploys simler to the meta in red vs blue. i.e hes the last resort. they deploy him in a special drop pod the specs still clasffied. but the reason they deploy him as a last resort is because hes esstly a walking grave mind. to make this even more tarrfing just emange your an inscration fighter. and you just see one drop fall form orbit. and your just start hearing "jarry. jarrry jarrrrrrry! " then a flood scream before what ever was inside bolts out and starts infecting and cutting people down. (if this sounds like hes a nod to fallouts garry. you sir have played fallout 3)

I've mostly been away because of the cheaters getting worse since switching to easy anti cheat, hopefully this update addresses it at least a little.

I still play the game because I love halo but unless it’s a new weapon and new playlists for us to work with. I’ll be playing very limited. I know destiny isnt perfect but right now they have lots of content to work with

It’s been over four weeks and I still haven’t played halo infinite. I’m probably going to just to get the Grunty cosmetics in time… But I don’t want to lie to you… The moment they disregarded the season passes, I knew that this would’ve been The end. Not because they season passes, But because with season passes, we usually always got important updates That would Solidify the game’s essence. Now it’s all unsure of what they’re going to do next. Of course they making the next halo game, So on one hand, I understand that he had to split the resources, And I think That’s good. Just a shame that we had to see another halo game half-baked. There’s no point in making progress to unlock cosmetics if we know that those cosmetics won’t come over with us. And there’s no fun in seeing no new additions like weapons and vehicles that they’re probably going to use for the next chapter. My wish is that 343 Can learn from Helldivers 2, In how to handle service as a whole. I love the fact that you had to pay $30 and you don’t have to pay for anything else unless you don’t want to speed things up, But it’s all up to you. You can’t unlock anything by just playing and I think that’s awesome. It’s a game that remind me of Halo Reach In that sense. I don’t know… Let’s hope the new management in 343 can finally start to Drop the expectations… :)

As in a glitchy content-void multiplayer game that took over a year to work into a stable seasonal rhythm only to die off after another year. That we finally got to the point where we should have been at launch only for them to start pulling the plug. The very end of season 4 was amazing, it felt like the game finally hit its stride and was finally a full game, even if the networking wasn't perfect. Then we hit season 5 and their goal of seasonality was thrown out.

As for content void, they weren’t flawless but the game had a lot more content then people give it credit for. Not to mention other games do the same thing and no one else complains. They’re not truly pulling the plug at least not yet but at this point they cut their loses cuz even when they did good all people did was whine and complain about the littlest things. And constantly criticizing them for shit they never even said was gonna be in the game or crying about leaked content they wasn’t even supposed to see. Also it’s been heavily reported they’re moving the game to unreal engine 5 so it can be easier to develop for. So perhaps they aren’t actually pulling the rather they’re working on relaunching the game

@@longlivetheblackmamba2-8-24 I don't know where you've been for the past few years but I wish I lived where you do. The game launched with a handful for game modes and maps. Which would have been okay if they didn't extend seasons 1 and 2 to be 6 months, and then we had the Winter Update. Campaign Co-op was also heavily delayed (and the campaign itself has so much left overs from cut content it still feels unfinished, even if the story is there) The game suffered from severe crashes both on PC and Xbox One and Series. Along with loads of installation issues. Not to mention desync was so bad it broke matches. Other games do it and I only ever see complaining! No one is happy with the industry right now! The only game getting praise is Helldivers 2 and justifiably so! They never said certain stuff was going to be in the game, sure, but it was all stuff that shouldn't have been said in the first place! Who knew we had to ASK for the same shade of RED on ALL cores! Or that we wanted shoulders and helmets to be cross-core when we never had armor limitations before. How dare we ask for the ability to customize our customizable spartans! Or how about asking for maps that match the event game mode and event theme! We only got that at the very end of season 4 and then it was gone! I'll give you that the amount of leaked content really blows. But it wasn't like we were asking for anything crazy. We wanted consistent content drops each season, and honest communication, and they failed at both. Halo Infinite isn't moving to UE5. It is RUMORED the NEXT game will be on UE5. We have no official word from 343 themselves. I've been hopeful for a infinite relaunch but it isn't happening. You also can't just port a whole game to a new engine. That isn't how game design works. You can port some things like models, maybe textures, but the fundamental pieces to getting the game running can't be transferred and have to be remade either from scratch or using templates. Why bother putting that much effort into effectively remaking a game that already took over 2 years to get to basic functionalty, when you can put that effort onto something new? Cutting their losses means they are pulling the plug! That's why the shop prices have increased AGAIN. That's why all the season pass content shifted to the store. They're trying to squeeze out what little bit of money is left from the players. It is no coincidence that when MCC was in this exact spot they tried to make Spartan points into microtransactions. We complained and they held off. But support ended! Campaign crossplay is still in "beta" for Halo 3 and ODST with no guarantee it will come out, much less for the other games. They got Infinite to a content complete place and instead of pushing their potential, they are finishing up, and they're moving on. Every sign points to that.

Joe staten even said they had the choice to prioritize content but chose to make sure the game was polished and focus on the gameplay which the community liked only to complain later on. I feel you on the campaign co-op although it’s a dying breed across the industry and they didn’t prioritize it cuz there were more important matters like trying to get consistent in the game. Again maybe on PC on console I haven’t seen many reports of crashes on console and I definitely think desync was blown out of proportion. Not saying they didn’t happen cuz all games have bugs devs are perfect but it definitely wasn’t that bad on a brand scale. That depends on the game cuz nobody makes the same complaints about halo as they do about GTA cod or fortnite. They complain about other stuff like having to play against people of their own skill level for some reason 😂. Helldivers ain’t much different than any other live service game it got praise cuz it’s new and PlayStation exclusive. That’s a terrible example. The whole point of the spartan cores was to have different looks for each one. If y’all wanted everything to go with everything maybe the complaint should’ve been to only have one core, but y’all never thought about that tho. And we literally get new match the event every time there is a new event 💀💀💀💀. Again after they got adjusted to the engine they did have consistent drops and they told us everything. Y’all just don’t listen. Once again I literally said “heavily reported”. And that’s what happened when they got the game on slipspace in the first place. Cutting there loses as in changing their plans doesn’t mean pull the plug at least not. Even if the next game is a thing it’s not coming out for a minimum of 5-6 years. MCC ended after halo infinite came out. They’re not gonna cut support of the game until the next one it’s close or already released.

content update? nah more like the shop update but i kind off hope we got something similar to SPARTAN OPS from HALO 4 as that was a fun game mode. We got firefight it would be nice to get something similar to SPARTAN OPS

After 343 mistakes they make, they usually make a banger update. I have no hope for this game no more, but this update might be a good one

I just am so disappointed with this game honestly. It’s so hard to be optimistic for any bread crumbs we get cause 343 even seems to spoil those. Like the network update and the easy anticheat. The network update was supposed to be the thing the game really needed and yes, it was a positive but it has a lot of issues that people warned 343 about months before they dropped it and they didn’t listen. Also they didn’t listen to the feedback on the switch to easy anticheat which is a change that was 100% negative to the game. I know it’s probably a skeleton crew of like the bare minimum devs in every department trying to get all these things out the door and they don’t have time or manpower to QA test these things but come on man… like can you guys do one thing that isn’t just a disappointment? I truly hate to be so down on this game but morale for Halo is honestly at an all time low I feel and it sucks. Season 5 I saw everyone, including myself, finally get excited again about Halo and just. Idk man. This franchise hasn’t had a break. MCC updates should’ve kept going and keeping that game and community alive and well.

Funny I also haven't played Infinite in about two weeks. Ever since they dropped seasons I find it harder and harder to find motivation to play. Clearly 343 has given up on infinite so why should I put time or money into it.

The core should have been a playable Elite core. Enough with the spartans

Ive lost the motivation to play infinite for so long

I have not played in 2 months. Why am i still playing the same sandbox? I used to be a whale and buy so much during seasons 2 and 3, but now this current store is just absurd. This game is clearly stalling for the next game and trying to milk us of ad much money as possible before they drop support.
