The searchlight was used in the cutscene after finding the last clue on Mombasa Streets. You see a Phantom with this searchlight while Dare radios to you.

it's also used in the drop pod cutscene at the start of mombasa streets if i remember right

The ambient banshee variant is probably for missions where you're not supposed to drive or hijack them for gameplay reasons but the devs still wanted to add them in the game... like in kizingo boulevard where you can't hijack them unless you do the famous glitch

Kizingo Boulevard has hijackable Banshees that don’t require a glitch at all. It’s just very specific conditions that need to be met to hijack them like normal. A glitch implies it’s not meant to happen, but that achievement is completely intentional because they aren’t meant to be EASILY hijacked. The banshees in Uplift Reserve, however, even if they get close enough to you, are not hijackable at all.

I thought the ghosts were different in ODST because they would overload and split into to pieces when destroyed. Like in Halo 2

The parked version of the wraith exists because they used to normally explode without a driver present

Pretty cool vehicles. The Police Pelican is my favorite of them all.

The ODST Phantom Search light was used in the cutscene where dare was talking on the radio before Data Hive

I think the phantom searchlight was mainly in cutscenes iirc. I just played odst a few days ago actually. Its seriously underated

I had fun helping out and hitting a fat dab in front of the OAST Drop Pod.

Hey GeneralHeed, I love your videos. By the way, halo:ce the warthogs on the maw are a different hog with slightly higher speed, but look the same. So maybe, similarly, the reserve wraiths have different stats compared to the normal wraith? Or have a special texture that was cut? Just throwing some ideas out there.

You forgot the Prowler Btw. It is the only base/normal vehicle from 3 not in Base/normal ODST. I wonder if Dare can ride in the side seats with the Energy Sword, and weapons that Marines can't normally use.

Imagine if they added the covenant and odst drop podcast for a multiplayer option in MCC where you drop down from the sky. Game mode could be similar to Invasion but you get to drop down from a Carrier or a Frigate in Halo 3 🔥

The pelican looks more like a weird animal swimming/flopping around in air then an actual pelican

Its sad the snow variant skins became missing in Halo 3 MCC when they added skins. Only the snow variant for Scorpion away available but the others went missing. They are there in forge and stuff as the spawned variant but if you get in it replaces with the skin you select. And if you use default it goes to a regular warthog. So the legacy variant on avalanche is basically no longer usable for the warthog, mongoose, and hornet

Next can you do weapons? There is a leftover H3 SMG and H3 Magnum on every map that has a Firefight level. Meaning we could get those weapons on Xbox sometime.

9:31 I still want them to be driveable, just imagine the sumo matches you could do...

Hornet Lite shares the same color as the NMPD Pelican, probably Bungie was going to make a NMPD Hornet but it was cut at the final version. Still Mega Construx made the NMPD Hornet years later, weird part is that no one has made a NPMD Mongoose when theres actually a Concept Art about it.

3:40 in early days of halo 3 on the second level there's a phantom that flies into the level and destroying the turret while offline would give you the achievement for killing 3 players that were riding a vehicle, the one that gives you the scout helmet I think? Bungie said it was a bug and removed it eventually because you were supposed to only get that achievement in online multiplayer but that's probably your phantom chin gun right there.

nope thats the used car salesman achievement that gives the helmet and you can get that in campaign it can be ai enemys IF they patched it it would be because the player isnt meant to see/kill the pilot of phantom turrets (i also think destroying a phantom in general doesnt count) maybe youre thinking of the chest plate from to close to the sun... but you need a spartan lazer for that and i think the first spartan lazer is on the 4th mission the storm

Park wraith and ambient banshee are definitely just non-drivable versions that cannot be taken by the player. Like in Uplift Reserve you can’t take the wraiths

You can find the lite hornet in h3 forge, cant remember what its called but theres two varients, the normal then the silver one

I'm pretty sure the searchlight chin-gun Is used a few times for the phantoms that fly around on Mombasa streets

Wonder why the devs never made the pelicans and phantoms drivable in forge or multiplayer maps and campaign, bullshit the AIs can drive but players can't lol. Also weird the pelicans don't use weapons expect in that first halo 3 mission or that back turret while the phantoms can use turrets and side gunners lol.

Back then, they were concerned that including an unpolished vehicle not intended for player use would leave a way worse mark on the game than if they had just excluded it entirely. Nowadays, 343 knows there's a lot of demand for these special vehicles in Forge, so they're retroactively adding them, but it's a way different situation than what Bungie was dealing with back then.

Fun fact: you can't drive a wraith in odst

So Lite Hornet is what the new Halo Mega hornet is
