It's just a thought... It feels like they cut the Warthog Run during development because they were going to use it for a different point in the story. The way it plays out is similar to the Final mission in Halo 3

I think the only way you could make this better cut to the M12LRV/Warthog Yes I'am a true Halo ner-FAN TRUE FAN & have an elite walk past & slap a parking ticket on it & to be even more cannon in halo 3 have 117 jump in the warthog to escape to collapsing ring only to have A bunch of ticket's & a car boot clamped to it forcing yo to take the Pelican instead......as intended originally HENCE why the map is so massive & it's all.....well mostly outside Now game time : Remember in halo 2 after the bomb these bird's broke orbit meaning they can be used in space PROBLEM SOLVED or one would think ? & what's the pelican based on from halo 1 !

Microsoft rushed the development of halo2 because they didn't want t Halo 2 detracting sales from the 360 near launch. The Great Journey wasn't meant to be the last level, it was supposed to switch back to MC for another level or two.

Developing Halo was a hell because of how much they had to do in such a small window of time. Nowadays developers purposely release unfinished games and promise the games will get DLC 's Look at Halo 5 for example. An unfinished mess that was a complete game after 1 year AFTER being launched

this is so weird yesterday I was playing the halo 2 campaign with my friend and I told him I felt what halo 2 was missing was a warthog run sequence like at the end of 1 and 3. he referred to the hunting the scarab missions for its tunnel scene but that didn't quite capture the feel of a warthog run but this this did , this is what halo 2 was missing

Spread the word. With Halo 2 on pc we can add all the cut content. We need to start by finishing the first Demo mission. We also need to make a mission where Rtas (aided by unngoy of all ranks, a couple hunters, Sangheili minors, majors, ultras, and spec ops sangheili) retakes his Covenant cruiser (facing jackals, yanme, brute minors, majors, captains, and honor guards). We also need a mission where you play as Sergeant Johnson and fight with Miranda Keyes and marines against the flood, sentinels, and brute-led Covenant forces. Extra descriptive details: The Rtas mission should include heavy weapons fuel rod unngoy on your team for a change. The elite minors (3) and majors (2) should have plasma rifles, needlers, and carbines. You should also have a spec ops elite with an energy sword, an ultra elite with a needler, and a spec ops elite with a carbine on your side. One of the majors should have dual plasma rifles. The brutes should have brute plasma rifles, carbines, shot guns, and brute shots as their main weapons. For a change, some jackal majors should be armed with brute plasma rifles, some yanme should get brute plasma rifles, one brute major should have a beam rifle, and at least one brute captain/honor guard should have a fuel rod gun. except chief and surviving marine prisoners (the pelicans could of easily of been re-commandeered by a small group of marines, especially if the pelicans were captured from the ship before the flood started breaking out of high charity, perhaps even from covenant pilots who used it to escape the initial battle), also who said that there was only one group of marines held prisoner? High charity is 200 miles long in diameter from one end of the city itself to the other. i was surprised about the marine pilot clip though, that should of been used in the Quarantine zone when we see pelicans flying by, or even could be signs of a lost pelican crash (like in lost warthog run)

@@collaborisgaming2190 It really would be unlikely. In Amber Clad was completely over in when it showed up in High Charity (even Cortana mentions there's no life signs on board). So with the Marines that escaped with Chief, their survivability rates would've been low. Between all of High Charity being on alert due to a civil war, as well as a widespread flood outbreak, they wouldn't have been able to commandeer a working pelican. Especially considering the flood were crashlanding pelicans, it's unlikely there'd be a working one... Although, considering Chief runs across a working one in Halo 3 to escape high charity is a stroke of luck.

@@meowsandstuff We could still add the missions I asked for plus a dreadnaught mission where you fight elite minors and majors, brutes, unngoy, jackals, hunters, yanme, a couple ultras if it's on legendary, spec ops elites, and a zealot with dual plasma rifles. You also get a squad 5 of ODST to aid you during the mission (1 with a shot gun, 2 with submachine guns, and 2 with battle rifles). Plus all the content that we know is missing.

Bill Clark The Marathon Infinity cut content reference as well: the one with the old space BASE jumping cutscene and subsequent carrier level, before the durian bomb was added. The original Marathon Infinity level this scene was supposed to reference is still in that game, called Naw Man He's Close, but it's no longer set to vacuum and you instead spawn in the hull breach instead of having the cool skydiving sequence to the ship, given it would have been hard to do on a 2.5D engine. Then New Mombasa could be expanded with the old cut level design with some ODST tie ins too, including Buck's squad falling in when Regret's carrier jumps out.

Doing this on legendary would have been a pain. Sniper Jackals, Rocket Launcher Flood, Brutes with Brute Shots, Drones. I can already hear myself cussing and yelling and dying a thousand times.

I want a Halo spin off where you play a sangheili, and at the end there's a ghost run. Maybe even to shake the formula a bit, a ghost chase with ennemies trying to gun you down in their own vehicles while you try to escape.

I like how this one looks with the ship, it’s a way different vibe than the other runs

The grunts do occasionally say that in the normal game. Any Grunt that calls Master Chief "sissy" has got a pair of cold, stainless steel balls. That will probably be splattered all over the floor when Chief is done with them.

Your intro music is the Windows 2000 startup sound or the Windows ME startup, they are both the same.

This feels so right. It completes the original trilogy so perfectly. Especially if you think about the fact that the first game did a Warthog run through a human ship, the second game's would have been through a covenant ship, and the third is through a forerunner structure. Thematically, I think that arc is just perfect for the trilogy. :D

This was really cool to watch. I only wish it could have made it into the final game. Thanks for sharing this gem with us

The entire scene is untextured minus NPCs/Vehicles.. pretty common to find untextured maps, especially in old game files.. overall would just need someone to texture it, which is a lot more work than it sounds lmao

@@SameBasicRiff And the covenant ship level that was replaced by the durian bomb; the chief was supposed to fly from the station to the ship's hull, fight his way inside, presumably via a pulse laser turret maintenance duct and blow up the ship from within, as yet another reference to Marathon, this time a similarly (this time partially) cut idea from the Marathon Infinity maps Naw Man He's Close, Foe Hammer and Hang Brain. That is why the chief doesn't have the bomb in the teaser trailer. As for the rest of Earth being on fire in the trailer, I'm not sure why that was changed, as I'm not sure if they added the significance of New Mombasa being over the ARK portal (or the ARK itself, as it was originally intended to be) later on for Halo 3 and ODST.

Robert the Dude That's a sin. Halo 2 guitar theme is supreme and innate of Halo 2. How dare you say RIT90s would be better? shame on you.

This was amazingly done! I tried doing this on the Xbox version a while back but couldn't even get the map to load after "enabling" that BSP. The PC map editor probably made things a lot easier. The juggernaut spawns and moving parts were great additions, and the crashing pelican with audio blew me away. 10/10.

That intro to the warthog run was fucking bad ass.

dude the way the pelican smashes into the beam and the warthog flies off and smashes into the column looks so cinematic and bungielike its almost like they made it

Wow. I can only imagine. Someone needs to get a team together and remaster halo 2. Like what SPV3 did. Make it like how Bungie originally wanted. Can you imagine levels like delta halo that had so much unused space, now completely full of encounters or free roaming objectives.

That is a Flood Juggernaut. Extremely high health, large size, good speed, and can kill you in 2 or 3 hits on Easy. I wish it wasn't cut from the game, but most people would have had significant difficulty beating it. I think it would have appeared a couple times, one of them being on foot.

Blackdimund is a hero for doing this.

I've always been confused how Keyes told the master chief that the capture of a shipboard AI was not acceptable or something, but then he goes and leaves cortana on high charity? The capital of the covenant and being overrun by flood? I know it was a "leave me and save yourself" situation, but the chief strikes me as someone who would rather keep cortana safe and find another way out than just leaving her to save his own skin, even if it was to board a ship going to earth.

Now we wait for modders to remake the e3 demo. However long that would take XD

That was the flood juggernaut, a cut Flood form that is still on the disk. It has full movement and attack animations, but has no death animation.

With the Halo 2 theme playing makes it even more awesome like damn!

That dialogue from the pelican pilot would've had a lot of lore ramifications. In amber clad flew into high charity flood infected, since that dude just found out which means the flood snuck their way onto the frigate. there was part of the cut game where the ship was human controlled and jumped into high charity and was giving chief allies and guns before succumbing to the flood. A more creepy scenario is where the flood took over the frigate and pretended to be allies by only taking over important parts like the bridge, while letting the marines go to chiefs aid and making chief be a distraction while slowly infecting high charity

Would've loved a Warthog run on Halo 2, but that would just make it kind of redundant. Putting in 3 Warthog runs in a row at the last level in the first 3 games.

I don't know why, but the dialouge as the pelican crashed at the beginning really creeped me out
