In this episode, we continue our travels in our converted Ford transit campervan, with our dog, Twyla. As we make our way back from Adelaide, our last stop is Halls Gap in Victoria. It’s great to see Australian tourism picking up with many people traveling around Australia in caravans, campervans, RVs, and camping in tents.

Places we travel, stayed and go to on this episode include:
Halls Gap
Breeze Holiday Park
Paper Scissors Rock Brewery Co
Flame Brothers Restaurant & Bar
Halls Gap Botanic Gardens
Halls Gap walking tracks
Venus Baths walking track
Halls Gap is a village in Victoria, Australia. It’s a gateway to Grampians National Park, known for its sandstone mountains, wildflowers and wildlife including echidnas and wallabies. Park trails lead to waterfalls like towering MacKenzie Falls and slender Silverband Falls. The Balconies lookout offers views of the Victoria Range, while Boroka Lookout is perched above Fyans Valley, with glimpses of Lake Bellfield.
We stayed at Breeze Holiday Parks - Halls Gap. There’s a large range of cabins suited to both families and couples and an abundance of camping and caravanning sites that provide gorgeous views of the national park setting. You may even get up close and personal with some native wildlife in the park! We booked a powered site for our stay. From Breeze Holiday Park we could easily walk to town and do so many activities without even hopping into our van to go to them.
The first morning we walked the Venus Baths walk. The walking tracks and trails of Halls Gap are undeniably the main highlights of the saw-toothed Grampians mountain range. There are so many popular tracks within the Grampians National Park crossing the beautiful forests, mountain streams, and spectacular waterfalls, so get ready to grab your detailed map, hiking footwear, plenty of water and warm clothing if you’re seeking adrenaline within the Grampians.
We checked out Paper Scissors Rock Brewery Co, which is an independent craft brewery located in the town center of Halls Gap, with a kitchen and regular live music and events.
Beer is brewed fresh on site.
Then we eat lunch at Flame Brothers Restaurant & Bar is located in the heart of Halls Gap. The restaurant provides a multitude of offerings, with something for everyone. Flame Brothers offers a unique dining experience, offering an offset Texas-style bbq smoker.
The next morning I took a stroll through the beautifully decorated Halls Gap Botanic Gardens, learnt about the native plants of the area, and browsed the huge array of unique art installations scattered among the trees. The Halls Gap Botanic Gardens are a must-see, particularly if you are visiting with children - they will love the adorable sculptures, the gigantic nest (complete with a ladder to climb in), the boardwalk, and the many information signs throughout the garden.

Hi looking at selling our caravan and getting into van life. How many did you look at? how did you find yours? what was your budget? were the number of kilometres on the van a criteria ? Are there things to look out for? So many questions, I hope you don't mind answering and expanding on.

@@kingdeanoadventures thanks for that. Sounds like you got a bit of a bargain. Bit of upgrading and you've got a really nice van. There's not much available at the moment just a few ex rental sprinters for $80,000+. Hopefully a few more will be available when overseas travel ramps up more.

@@MICHELLE-gu2qc Hi, yes we were going down that path. Had a look at a high roof Ford transit in Geelong on the weekend. It was in good condition but had a lot of Km's and a few problems that needed fixing. Then went past Jayco and had a look and I think that swayed us back to new. Might have a look at a Renault master when one pops up. Watched a lot of KZread on doing them up. It's probably only the electrical and plumbing I wouldn't be confident with.

@@Scoutarella5168 There are companies who sell easy to install kitchens and other products for vans. Bunnings have kitchens. Also companies that do the conversions. There are some really stunning conversions I ended up buying a brand new custom build caravan from Queensland and had delivered to Melbourne. I hope you find something that you love and many happy memories.
