Also little bit of info, the extra shaking of matte paint is needed because all the flattening agent separates and sinks to the bottom. If you're using a big can and pouring off the top and into a gun without extensive shaking, it will shoot as high gloss. The chemical looks like whole milk if you buy it alone. If you mix a ton of extra flattening agent into your paint, it will create almost a velvet texture which is a cool effect.

I love how you use the concept of roasting a marshmallow that's the same idea that I had in vision burn certain marshmallows to achieve the shading color that you desire 🎃🔪

Never knew that the original mask was of that of Captain Kirk , this I just found out a couple of years ago. This is one of my ultimate carpenter’s movies. That theme is epic. I got a few horror movie themes ringtones , but my one of my favorite is the Halloween theme followed by the exorcist theme.

I’ve rehauled one of these and liquid latex mixed with black acrylic in the burnt hair for charring gives it a shiny effect and really makes those burnt spots pop

I wanna do something interesting for a recreation of this mask. Though it involves some things frowned upon in the replica community :/ I want a 75 kirk for my 78 but I also wanna do an actual burned mask to do the kills mask. Get a 75 kirk do the 78 conversion and do some actual burn damage to it and the other stuff. Use smoke to yellow it a tad. Then do some painting. But I'd have to make a mold of replica 75 or find a cheaper good replica 75. Found some from original molds but 250 a pop. Pretty sure people would still be mad if I molded them and recast them.

Everyone makes the burned side SO burned. The best sealer is liquid latex mixed with water and a duller.

Depends on the finish I want, but if I want a matte finish I typically just use Krylon Matte Finish. But Liquitex Varnish will work. I also often seal the mask with 50% mask making latex and 50% water-based polyurethane. There's a video on this coming out soon.

So, I must’ve gotten a lucky TOTS mask, mine has no excessive yellow and only needed weathering, the only problem I have with it is the hairline, I wish they’d fix that, but my mask was perfect, I didn’t need to repaint it, or anything, there was not much yellow and a lot of charring, all I had to do was gel the hair back, and go outside, smear some dirt in it to weather it, and it looks fantastic, I love your masks though, they look really similar to the movie.

shit man, you could use your own hair as supply to re-hair these masks. That is luscious

I rehauled my halloween kills mask thanks to the reference photo of nick castle holding the halloween kills mask in broad daylight picture leak.

What kind of alcohol did you use on the rub out?

I wish I was able to do this I hate the yellow on my mask I don’t think I’ll wear that one this year probably just stick with the warlock for Halloween

You can but I'd much rather use an airbrush. I think it makes a huge difference and once you know how to use it it's much easier as well. But when I switched to an airbrush the quality escalated very quickly. If you do use paintbrushes, soak them in water with a little dish soap in between uses.

Depends on how deep you wanna go. I think Black, Fargone, and Decomp are must haves but I'd also suggest Ghoul, Dirtnap, and Slime if you wanted to get a little crazy with it.

Most likely not. But I would use pretty much the same method I used here but would probably just make it a little more subtle.

I seen official pictures from Halloween kills ,the mask is more black on one side than yellow, but who really knows lol. I have the mask from the 2018 version Halloween by trick or treat studios and it just like the one from the movie they did a really good job on it, even the hair looks real

It's not more black on the one side its a bit darker but not black it's supposed to be a charred yellowish darkened brown, also its not very easy to tell from trailer how the mask Reay looks like because of the dark lighting nobody really knows how it look in full day light yet, I also have the trick or treat studios halloween kills mask rehauled u have to rehaul them cuz no way the stocks will ever look like the movie version let's get that straight.

What kind of black ink are you mixing with the alcohol for the rub out? and what percentage of alcohol are you using? like 70% proof?

Excellent job with the Hair removal - instead of taping off, you can use a cheap shower cap instead. Your work has really improved - just remember that a Little bit goes a Long way.

Here's a trade secret I learned quite by chance - for the Ultra Fine underlining Details... a simple Graphite Pencil works wonders, including any additional shading where you know any colors are just going to be too much [use Only after any washes have been applied]
