I'm so sad they didn't keep Halloween as an anthology. Now it's a series that people look at as a dead horse. They definitely should have started with subtitles. That way when the 3rd was called "Halloween: The Silver Shamrock" or something people wouldn't have been mad. They could've even stylized it so that the "Halloween" part of the title was small and centred above the subtitle and was identical on each poster for the series. Halloween: Michael Mayers Halloween: Michael Mayers Returns Halloween: The Silver Shamrock Halloween: Attack of The Living Nightshades You get the point lol

The worst part is, considering that the original plan was apparently to give each successful villain a potential spin-off series, there's no reason we couldn't have gotten more Michael _and_ this anthology series. Honestly the biggest issue was that they called the second movie "Halloween 2" and not just something like "Michael Myers Returns" or "Michael Myers Strikes Again"; that way this movie could have been "Halloween: Season of the Witch" and people would have been less confused.

@@sacredsalt6840 Well, that didn't quite work with the Friday the 13th series, though... The 4th movie was litteraly named "The Final Chapter" which it wasn't, of course. But at least the title implied that Jason had actually died at the end of that movie. But as soon as they go and release part 5, "A New Beginning", people still got pissed that there was no fucking Jason in that movie! So much, to the point that the producers had to completely pretent that part 5 never happen, just so Tommy Jarvis wasn't a psychopath and Jason could return as an OP zombie in part 6. Eh, people just never get what they want, do they...? Once someone becomes a fan of something, all they want is the same shit over and over again... it's simple as that. Just look at what most slashers became after so many sequels! THAT'S NOT HEALTHY!

Cochran is one of my favorite villains. I love how jovial he is, even when he is defeated, he gives credit to his enemy for getting the best of him.

This movie has an overall solid storyline. The only plot hole is the way the shamrock buttons are created with the stone from Stonehenge. I even liked the fact they added a nice mention of planets aligning since it has a lot to do with the myth of Stonehenge.

This is one of the most early-1980s films I've ever seen and that's absolutely a compliment; it has the half-clear/half-grainy mix of film and video that makes all of the action even more eerie and stark.

A Halloween movie that is based partly on the holidays ancient celtic origins and horrific child sacrifice is never a bad thing. This movie was genius.

That ending is crazy though man, it actually makes me want a post apocalyptic sequel to the movie

Don’t know why, but I would be happy if Carpenter would have done the Twilight Zone thing with this franchise.

it's a cool theory but is most likely not true. the halloween franchise doesn't take place in the season of the witch universe, and not just because of that commercial. the series was meant to be an anthology, and even though it didn't work out, season of the witch is still in a different timeline

Fun fact: The Shamrock Silver's Halloween III were made by Don Post Studios. If you have one original from 1982, there's a chance your mask made a cameo at 9:28, it's the real studio with masks that were later sold normally.

“Shapeless Halloween sequel” good one James

honestly my favourite tiny moment in this is when the curfew first gets announced and someone hurriedly snatches their kitten indoors i dont know why it just cracks me up

This is why i love dead meat cause he doesnt just give you the kills withought context he tells you the story with all the deaths included and you can still watch the movie and enjoy it or not

I honestly think that the holloween would have gone better if It was a anthology

I have seen this movie maybe 6 or 7 times and I’ve had multiple different reactions to “Paper Cochrane” ..I’ve definitely laughed with my brothers as a young kid, and been confused as an adult and even occasionally scared. The end is an unforgettable Meme and a classic Twilight Zone style stinger all rolled into one.

Fun fact : one of the part of the TV music and quote of Happy Happy Halloween was used in Helloween Starlight and also Live version of Intro/Ride the Sky.

I don’t know if it’s just me but this movie feels like a guilty pleasure movie and I love it

Don't get me wrong, I love the Shape as much as the next guy, but when we could've have gotten more of this instead of sequels and reboots and sequel reboots.

Micheal Myers along with Jason and Freddy are like the Nike swish at this point ..the most recognizable and loved faces in the history of horror, to this day it has a massive cult following. Halloween series would have died immediately if they went with this idea, every movie would flop.

Lmaooo I watching this 2 years after I originally watched it and I never noticed James calls the jingle cruel and unusual punishment lmaooo.

I absolutely wish I had a person to watch this with. This is one of my all time favorite Halloween movies, ever!

I love this movie. Kills are great. Soundtrack is perfect. Watch it every year at least once. Glad it is increasingly getting the appreciation it deserves.

James should be awarded with best Horror channel.

It's actually pretty obvious how they got the block of Stonehenge. They just contracted that assignment to one Miss Carmen Sandiego.

The soundtrack fits the atmosphere of the tone and story of the film, the story itself, plot, and its characters were all unique, it's suspenseful, the cinematography was great, and the ending goes against all the Horror cliches that are synonymous and way too common in the Horror genre. Now, since you're a "smart" Halloween fan with great preferences. Tell me more about how Halloween: Resurrection that featured a rap star all of sudden becoming a "master" martial artist after 5 minutes of watching a movie able to use said skills to overcome a notorious serial killer was so great. Do please enlighten me.

Wglass90 I literally lovedddddd this movie for what it’s worth even though it has completely nothing to do with the Michael Myers story line. The plot was just great and the feeling of suspense in the movie had me with chills. This movie was definitely better than movies like part 4 and 5

I both love seeing more of Michael, especially with his return in 2018! & this movie, being a short, but sweet change of pace for a Halloween story~

this movie is a perfect example of why you should judge something for what it is, rather than what it could be. This Movie COULD be a great michael Myers film, but it wasn't so people hated it. But what those people missed is that this film IS an amazingly graphic film that features good characters, great kills and it's a plot that doesn't take itself too seriously (And with a plot like this one, you wouldn't want to take it too seriously)

….true, but since this was Halloween3, people were expecting the main character in the previous one.Something Hollywood is doing heavily now(example: expecting He-man, yet getting Teela) Other than that example; books, movies are using already established characters, but with WOKE characteristics. @@thepoeticbutcher3370 what I think they should have done is renamed the 1st one "Halloween, The Shape" then you could have Halloween, The Shape Halloween, The Shape 2 Halloween, Season of the Witch. That way we know that "Halloween" is the Umbrella term for all these, yet they're individual stories from each other.
