The theatrical ending is so fuckin funny. Saw it in theaters and everyone was just totally mystified and angry

I get they had to kill Loomis off, but there were so many better, less ambiguous ways they could’ve done it. Just dress someone up as Loomis, show him falling to the floor and Michael walking away. Roll credits.

The theatrical cut ending freaked me out as a kid and its better because its ambiguous. That screaming had me like "who's that??"

I always knew it was Loomis as it made sense in the context that Donald Pleasance died in real life before the film came out so they had his character die as well

The reason they changed the ending was partly due to Donald Pleasance dying in real life hence they had to kill his character off as well.

The Producer's Cut definitely makes better sense of the business Loomis has to take care of. It's like they stole his scream from the Producer's Cut and edited it into the lazy theatrical cut ending.

not lazy just ambiguous with whether loomis died by myers or just freaked out over seeing myers was gone, where in the film he was marked and screamed in grief and stopped when he looked at his arm again that MAYBE it went away and his character, in this timeline, died from cancer or old age.

theatrical slightly answered myerss constant reanimation or living through getting shot at or hit a billion times and becoming nearly indestructable thus why he is more supernatural horror than the rob zombie myers and is the same as the new myers who is more grounded but still just as supernatural by his attempts to keep killing despite being bloodied about constatnly esp in H Kills. Producers cut answers all the questions about his cold blooded nature and to why he has always been and remains a psychopath. H2 (2018) gives another reason.

I like the producer's cut ending better cause it makes for sense as to the fate of both Loomis and Myers. The theatrical ending just pisses me off

so Michael is still alive and free but what really happens to Dr Loomis ? does he die in this scene ? what that scream means ?

I love the Producer’s cut. I’m watching it right now on dvd 📀 It’s a bootleg I bought on eBay lol The pacing, suspense and musical score is way better than the a.d.h.d. shit show we all know as the Theatrical Cut! Both versions aren’t that great but I appreciate the Producer’s cut way more! It’s ending ties Dr. Loomis & Michael Myers together, forever. Loomis will never part from the evil he’s been trying to stop.

God bless Donald pleasence because he passed away during the realise of this shity movie.

producers workprint cut is better for the story and main characters (butt) but theatrical is better for Michaels end scenes and is more satisfying especially when going into H20 and his end there!

Seems like the producer's cut was more about the cult stuff while the theatrical version had more brutal kills but shitty story telling

H3 SotW is semi canon to the new story but Shamrock makes GOOD masks and are not bad guys and their company continues to help make halloween fun and safe from Michael Myers.

I absolutely never liked these Halloween sequels from 4 to 6 because they are nonsensical.
