You are both extremely creative, have crazy skill, similar philosophies, and love making music in a variety of genres. Watching him play, I see the same excitement that I see in videos of you playing with Tommy Emanuel. Your joy in making music is infectious. I have always loved this song and Mike you Ed ward knocked out of the park. It's the only version I want to listen to now. It use to be Leonard Cohen's version but this is my favorite now. After watching the 2 of you doing this song gave me and Idea of how I could do both parts on a single guitar. It might end up being reminiscent of having a Tommy Emmanuel flavor to it. Thanks Mike for the influence you have on my playing.

The opening 20 seconds of this song is one of the best short examples of reharmonization I've ever heard. You're expecting the usual sad chords underneath the "hallelujah" melody, but instead it sounds more mysterious and majestic. And then there's some descending stuff, a beautiful 7 chord at 0:29, and it effortlessly falls back into the original chords. Masterfully done

Sometimes no fingerstyle tricks is the greatest trick.

Yet I really appreciate the perception of being ‘10 times better’, that’s really sweet because it sounds like you enjoy my playing 🙏 I guess what I’m saying is that if someone plays a concert of shreddy 16th notes for their entire repertoire, it would get boring. Do you agree?

@@mikedawesofficial Yes. I just wasn't expecting to see you play one string notes 😅 All the videos I've seen of you play are heavenly even with the "shreds" or maybe more because of it. A few years ago i saw a video of you playing "slow dancing in the burning room" live and i was like, how is this even possible? it is not suppose to sound this good. This is definitely a weird thing to say but The best way i can describe watching you play for the first time was like watching a mortal make love to the most beautiful goddess. it was just so elegant and divine.
