Luciana's rendition is one of my favorite versions of this song - can't listen without a tear... I so would love to hear her sing "Do You Hear What I Hear" - she has the perfect voice for it.

I have heard many versions of this, but they all sound like dirges, a funeral would be joyful by comparison. This lovely singer lifts the whole sound making it a celebration. I like this more than any other version, including the original.

I think Cohen's message, when he wrote this song, was filled with simultameous joy and disilusionment. It would seem as if he wrote this poem out, the way in which he felt, about a love affair that in the end, lost the true meaning of what love between two individuals can evolve into or not evolve into. In the end the lady in his world didn't rock his world nor did he any longer rock hers. Maybe the moral is that we are not here to rock the worlds of how others want their's to be rocked and, that it is our responsibility to rock our own worlds as we see fit, rather than to depend or expect someone to do it for us.
