    Great in-depth review as always. I moved away from the g3 brand a few years ago after they changed from a blue cap compound, going to have to revisit the product with correct pads, I wasn't aware of the range of pads, they look worth the time and effort to give it a second chance as I wasn't aware of them at the time and tbh that might of marred my results. Totally agree with you on the sonax, watched a review you did awhile back and got a bottle for a black car! Absolutely great results.

    Hello mate, First time I've seen your feed. Love it. Nice presentation. I do guitars and vintage amps. Been using F3 for the last couple of years with great results on DA with nitro, 1k and 2k, even with a hand sponge after 2k wet. Then thing with a guitar is: it is so very near and small. Unlike a car panel or even a bike part - it is close and up-front to the player (not the audience). Nice work and I'll keep watching :-)

    The old formula wasn't that nice to use but having used the new formula a good bit I must say I think it does a pretty good job. The old formula isn't a patch on it. Machined a black car last week that has been using automatic car washes for 3 years. Hit it with g3 premium compound, g3 premium fine finishing compound, g3 premium wax then a cost of g3 super gloss wax. Car looked fantastic. Used to use supergloss wax a lot as its half the price of HD wax and ridiculously easy to use. Changed to fusso but now onto enigma. Okay enough of the waffling now.

    Informative as always Jon. Without this sort of review I guess we all assume a higher price equals a superior product. As a hobbyist I would always go for the perceived safe bet of a more expensive product rather than taking a risk with something cheaper. I wouldn't lose too much sleep on the camera "issue" by the way, it looks fine to me & ultimately it's the content that matters not the production. Keep up the good work, appreciate the time & effort that goes into producing the material.

    When i had to use 3g ( not premium) it was horrible compared to 3m. It was over 5 years ago since i used it so probably improved by now. We used it as a multi step proces in a bodyshop. Pros were if it dryed out u could use water or if the panel was getting hot. Even polishing from p3000 on a da sander it took 2x long as 3m range. Mabey becaus it was fresh paint? Just my opinion as a spray painter.

Farécla came into work to do a demo of their new products and honestly the new G3 was decent but i preferred the Farécla G360. I still Tizact pad with 3000's over 1500 wet flatting scratches but i was impressed how much gloss you get considering how well it cuts.

    Being In the trade this is über cheap to buy when we do bodywork we use this as a good easy way to get sanding marks out, although I don’t think it’s on the level of the scholl or sonax products but still good! There are also a lot of companies that us the G3 branding so be mindful to look for the farecla brand

    Tim at G3 kindly gave me this and the finishing compound to try.....now Farecla have been around for donkeys years! I used their products in the bodyshop, 5L paint tins and stinking of ammonia! Now I firmly believe their products have been tried and tested on Rotary, so knew it wouldn't fall short. I'm still testing it using a DA, and its proving difficult to get the right pad combo, as for me, it doesn't have the cutting power, but then as we know, it could be more machine than product. So I'll continue to try and see how it goes. But I think if your a rotary user, then you can't go wrong with the product & pad combo, great value with little or no compromise.

  • @ForensicDetailing

    interesting miles. Its true but its a tooling thing as well I think. I commented on this with the perfect finish review. To unlock the full potential of the cut you really need a rotary. And using on a rotary allows you to take out the sanding marks quickly and easily without that much risk of holograms if your sensible. On the DA its a different kettle of fish trying to take out sanding marks. Everything is scaled down and a slower process.

    2 stage is a cut and finish. 1 stage is typically a diminishing adrasives that is a middle ground of cutting at first and breaking down to a finer finishing polish towards the end of the set. Typically if you a re removing lots of swirls and multiple polishing sets are required then the single stage is NOT the way to go, and the cut and finish becomes the best choice. However single stage is the maximum bang fo buck if you just want to do ONE polishing set around the entire car.

    holy cow yes. I have a review of this stuff coming. Its insane what the G360 compound does. The G3 compound is a good oily 1 stage polish. very well priced. Suitable for guys at home to polish a car with without too many considerations. The g360 SFC101 compound though is a very very high cut product. I wouldnt perhaps recomend it for guys at home to just polish their car with for obvious reasons. but the professional and workshop scene I think is going to go mad for the G360 system. will have the review out for it soon.

  • @K2edg

    @K2edg

    I'd agree with that, i do allot of work with higher end cars with anti scratch clear and thats where the G360 really shines (excuse the pun), i usually have to finish 1500's scratches with a 3000 Trizact pad before cutting back but the guy doing the demo just hit the scratches from 1500 which was kinda impressive (he also bought back 800 scratches, not seen that before), it's also made my 3 stage cut routine into a 2 stage.... which is most welcome. I've only recently come across your channel and am really enjoying your video's, keep up the good work.

    Its a constant problem for me :) but yer you can get away with it on you tube. its less about the camera and more about me not having a clue how to use it.. but your totally right paul. full manual shooting solves some of the problems i get.. the camera seems a bit unpredictable. I cant use full auto mode because it doesnt allow manual volume control and I get massive hiss on audio. semi manual mode allows me to set audio to +20 db full pass filter, but if I have a new battery in the shotgun it actually creates a peaking issue, that goes away when the battery is closer to running out. Biggest problem even in semi auto mode the adjustments the camera makes effect quality.. can create this wierd pasty look. I also have issues using the auto focus on the camera, in the sense the auto focus is actually crap :) but setting manual focus sometimes I get it off wrong because its hard to spot clarity on the little view finder. full manual mode seems to be the way to go but can sometimes get the like exposure or whatever it is wrong so can be a bit dark but the footage looks better. Can get really nice clear footage at shorter range. but the lens seems to always struggle creating nice sharp video beyond 3-4 meters. not sure really the direct to go with camera stuff. Ive used the patreon money for a lens, a better tripod and a slider.. I wanted to get a go pro next for POV or like in car shots or lance shots etc.. but at some point I might just get a camcorder thats better for video and allows me to do 1080p at 120 fps for slow mo, and also time lapse.. not sure G7x might be a quick easy option but no external mic. I almost wish there was a little camera out there thats completly idiot proof and has very good video capability and external mic capability that also takes good stills etc.. must exist.. full HD with 120fps and timelapse function.
