Thank you so much! I watched this video, and got the hang of pumping, pretty quickly. I also watch the jump turn thing afterwards, and got the hang of that too! I feel like a rollerblading pro now XD! Of course I still need some practice. The only problem I seem to lose speed after 3 or 4 times, so I have to do a push in the middle. But I’m only nearly 12, so I’ll only get better and better! Thank you for this tutorial, I really appreciate it!!!

This is something I have been struggling with for months. I still can't seem to gain momentum and even lose momentum if I don't push on the flat. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, perhaps it's the arm movement. I've filmed myself and showed it to other skaters and they just say "learn to pump properly" 🤷‍♂️ It's really frustrating.

Mostly it's because of the knees. Most of my students don't bend their knees in the correct way. Try to bend your knees while pushing them to front. They should be more further in front that your front wheels. Try to avoid bringing your back to much down and take care that your butt always remain right above your heels (not further back)! I hope these tipps will help you. 🙂

This is an amazing video. Thank you so much. I'm having a lot of trouble with the "backwards" part. I can get good speed going forwards, but I lose it all going backwards. I think I was doing the "hollow back" move...but I've fixed that and I'm still slow. Need work! I'll watch this video another 5 times before I go back to the skate park. :D

Hey thanks a bunch for your comment and feedback! 🙂🙏 As a further tip, you can try putting your hands onto your leading knee. This prevents you form leaning backwards or doing a hollow back. In other works putting both handy onto the leading knee/leg, works wonders! 👌
