    3:44 One hell of a professional call by the cockpit crew to get towed back into a parking position rather than "assume" everything might be ok. No delay or costs are worth the risk of the passengers on board. The guy that got apprehended probably has to face criminal charges and major civil charges by Delta Airlines and the airport for disrupting operations and the delay caused by him. All in all: Handled very professionally by the airport and the Delta crew...

Amazing professional conduct.

    The amount of unnecessary extra work this guy caused everybody...... With the security they have around runways and taxiways these days, how the hell did a half-naked guy NOT get spotted or stopped from trotting across active runways and taxiways in order to get on the wing of DAL192? Amazing..... The aircraft was not at the gate where you might think this was possible. That guy had to cross quite a bit of runway and taxiway area just to get to DAL192. Great video. I love your animations.

    The only explanation i can come up with is that he did not come to the runway from the airport building side but maybe jumped the fence on the other side of the runways. Otherwise running across tarmac and active runways in an airport like ATL, he would have been spotted long before he got to the airplane.

    i dont know what kind of fence they have there but at LCY which is about 10 minutes from me there is literally massive gaps under and on the side of the gate for i dont even know what goes in and out of it. and the whole fence is just so easy to jump like my school fence is harder. but as far as i know theres not been crazy people walking around the airport and onto planes so maybe its ok like this. well there was one guy who climbed on top of a plane but he came from the terminal.

    lockergr Maybe the love of his life was leaving him forever on that plane because she had caught him with another woman. Now, a few days later, she sent him a text telling him she knows about her and that she's leaving while he was banging the other woman. As soon as he saw the text, he hastily put on his underwear, no time to put on anything else, drove to the airport and - her plane had already left the gate. So he had to find another solution to get the love of his life back. This video shows how that went.

    Florian Hofer Fuel? They turned the engines off. And not every passenger missed or even had a connection. I’d say its around $400,000

    But that's just considering the one aircraft that was DIRECTLY impacted, what about SWA2003 that had to go get more fuel before take off? And the what 5 other Delta flights behind that one?

  • @florianhofer2476

    You forget the whole thing. It is not only affecting that single aircraft, or even only those total 4 aircraft totally seen in the clip. Also the aircraft still on stands and those midair (turning off engines mid air is a nogo... ;-) )were affected. Also delays do not only affect each actual flight, but also future flights by those aircraft. This goes through the whole schedule. Depending on the operation scale (also including if night flights are allowed), those effects can still be felt a few days later. (Especially on long haul flights...) That's the problem.

  • @rkan2

    @rkan2

    I dunno the delay, but for 30 min I'd say about a hundred thousand $ or a few hundred thousand is probably close. Filling up the SW and the delays was probably max 10k$ (what a typical flight hour would cost), most likely less. Of course you can go and calculate what the indirect costs from delays could be...

    lockergr based on my own experience at Hartsfield it can get brutal real quick during summer on the runways and the taxiways for example if it's 95 on the runway and since heat rises off of a surface and with the humidity if it's above 50% add about 15 degrees at most to what the temperature feels like standing on the runway or any concrete surface out there when I work there in the 90s at NWA technical operations center when they used to do the engine run up on the ramp I don't know what was worse the Heat or the noise sometimes it was a tie when I work security there we had to flip a quarter to see who pulled a ramp check during the day it was that hot

    The question remains, "How difficult is it to get onto a plane's wing in a "restricted" area, attempt access into the cabin and then run across the runway BEFORE getting apprehended by law enforcement?" Apparently not very. Meanwhile, inside the airport we're wanding seniors and toddlers for toenail clippers. I feel safe.

    I think someone with mental illness would probably not have had the sense to put their arms up and lay on the ground when they saw officers. I mean for his sake, I'm really glad he did. But yeah you're right I guess it could be both drugs and mental illness or a combination of both. Drugs don't do much positive for one's mental health.
