How do you do the loop half n half? Usually for loops the string is folded in half so it's easier but since you only need one string of each color (instead of having two when you fold the string in half) I'm confused how you do it.

  • 5 жыл бұрын

Heyhey she has a video on in with this exact bracelet. But basicly you spilt the threads and kind of fold them together so that you have '1' string with on 2 sides different colors

Just my personal preference, but I like to use a clipboard (I use the normal size but a mini one works well too of course) when I make bracelets! It keeps the thread SUPER secure and when I make tutorials, I’ll tape it to my surface so that it doesn’t slide around. :)

I've made something similar to this -- but with a solid color on one side and alternating colors on the other. The sides cross over as part of the pattern (It's an "alternating chevron". I've also started using one of the colors on one side of the wrapped loop and another color on the other side of the loop. Looks great!

Long-time lurker, first time commenter and first of all I just wanted to say thank you so very much for reintroducing me to bracelet making again. I used to make some many years ago when I was in secondary school but haven’t tried it in forever and there are so many more designs out there now than I remember there being (Alpha bracelets being an example that weren’t widely made when I was younger). I love the dramatic contrast of the rainbow colours against the black and white in this bracelet and plan to have a go at it myself once I’m more confident in my knotting (just need a bit more practice in getting the tension just right). With regards to your sellotape v pillow problem I thought I’d suggest a macrame board. They are about £10 - £15 (so a clipboard from WH Smith *would* be *much* cheaper) but the board has slots all around it to hold the threads you’re not using taut, or out of the way depending on what the pattern requires, so you may find that useful too. Anyway I just thought I’d throw that out there in case you were looking for other options also and thanks again for all your tutorials. Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Kind regards Piper

May I ask how did you make the loop with different colours on either side? I'm not sure if I missed that part of the video but I've got an asymmetrical bracelet like yours with an even number of strings but the colours are different on either side, and I'm so confused as to how to make a loop for that. Help!

Try using a clip board so it doesn’t move

I’ve never finished a chevron but I know how to do it and just got bored of making it so I’m just gonna try this anyway. Edit: 3:24

she literally showed that in the video, but if you were looking for the half and half loop, she has a video called "How to make a loop with an odd number of strings"
