half marathon race weekend vlog | Pittsburgh 2024

After months of training, I ran the Pittsburgh half marathon! It was exciting to get to run this course for a second time (previously completed in 2018) because this time around, I felt so much more prepared. I was able to maintain a good pace throughout the race and crossed the finish line in under 2 hours, meeting my personal goal!
I couldn't have asked for a better race day, and it was such a wonderful way to celebrate the work of training. Thanks for cheering me along! I hope you enjoy the race day vlog!

Congrats on the sub-2 hour finish! I lived in Pittsburgh for a couple years growing up in the 1970s...let me just say that it's a much nicer city today than it was then. Thanks for the video!

Thank you!! Haha I don't know what it was like back then, but I've loved it as long as I've known it (which has only been ~10 or so years).

Congrats on the sub 2. The drizzle helped a little with the heat. I did the back half and the heat started to get to me after a while. Also by pacing it’s easy to tell the Birmingham Bridge. Everyone hates that bridge. Great to see your parents very supportive

The drizzle definitely helped! Haha the Birmingham Bridge is brutal it broke me this year and back when I ran it in 2018. Congrats on running the back half! I’ve wondered what that part is like in comparison

Great run and great time! I've been a "hobby" runner over 30 years but never did more than a 10K and never faster than a 9 and 1/2 minute mile. It's tough to get past a certain point and you did it in fine style.

Thank you! I’m planning to back off on the intensity for a while now to just continue enjoying my runs and make it a long-time habit. 30 years is amazing!

Congratulations on a successful race! Woo, a new backpacking trip? Super cool. I just bought a plane ticket to London in early June and am going with one of my English friends to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in France. If you don't know that is a huge endurance sports car race. Getting back to the UK the plan as of now is to hike John O'Groats to Lands End. The Northern tip to Southern tip of Great Britain on the network of trials they have there.

I'm also glad I was able to capture some clips while running, but had to back off towards the end of the race 😅
