Half-Life - Resonance Cascade Evolution

Ойындар

Guess who is in a Half-Life mood (again), but doesn't have a VR headset?
I wanted to compare one of the most iconic events in gaming between two versions of Half-Life: the original and Source port, and two versions of HL remake Black Mesa: a free HL2 mod from 2012 and full retail release from 2020.
There are some noticable differences across all four versions, like different lighting, different sounds, different voice acting.
A shorter, "spliced" version: • Half-Life - Resonance ...

I think the OG one compared to half life source is scarier. The lighting is just...eerie. Very unsettling. Makes it feel like a horror setting, and it is. Black Mesa's original form was just way too bright, but it's final form was at its absolute peak! It looked better and the bloom control was handled well

In addition to what MaxBaik said, the game overall is massively overhauled. Black Masa 2012 was a more of a effort to remaster the game a little bit, whereas the 2020 release is a massive overhaul of the lighting system, some of the maps and beyond. Plus ALL the completed Xen levels, if I'm not mistaken.
