Can't believe he left. To Valve's credit though, playing Portal 2 I was still convinced I was listening to music he'd composed...so whoever is leading the sound/music team now is still doing a great job. Hopefully Kelly will continue his work elsewhere, either scoring games/films or maybe even working on solo musical projects - he's obviously talented enough.

Incredible, so many (gaming) hours of tension, claustrophobia and excitement caused for a big part by this man...genius. :)

@@mihailazar2487 AFAIK, when the project started they got the Quake 1 engine, but developed that in parallel so the end result was closer to Quake 2, and somewhat different.

This is officially how I imagine the voice of Gordon Freeman.

They actually combined alot of faces from VALVe employees to create Gordons face.

This guy is great! I love all the Valve-Soundtracks made by him. And he truly looks a bit like Gordon with long hair and without glasses^^

Kelly Bailey had retired from Valve a few years ago. It's Mike Morasky, who wrote music for both Portal games and Team Fortress 2, composes music for the company these days.

the only time gordon freeman talked since he is a man of few words

I wish they kept the kelly bailey appearance for gordons model. Hopefully the finished alyx model will be that way

Kelly didn’t just do the music but he was accomplished in all fields. Animation, and level design. The test chamber sequence? Two people including him did that.

Holy shit. Aside from Bernard Law Montgomery, this guy is my hero. I like how the music in the video is actually one of his songs done for Half-Life. I don't remember hearing it, but I found it in GCFScape.

That soundtrack.. Sounds very, very familiar, from somewhere. I guess it's Ultima Online. I'll find it out.

FL Studio 8, Retrosound euipments(i cant be 100% sure, though) Some sound samples are from free audio stock though, but others arent ofc.

Look closely, and you could see he has a ponytail.

If I saw Kelly Bailey I'd yell: "It's Freeman!" I don't know what his reaction would be.

He voices gordon's breathing so he's the voice of gordon!

Guys, get Half life Orange Box and install Cinematic Mod 11 !! Amazing textures and lighting effects and the environments look more realistic. You might not want to use the new character models though or sountrack. Well worth the download

It's also his voice actor, at least, for the breathing.

The Half-Life series got the best ingame music of all shooters out there! Kelly is a genious, like Frank Klepacki and Kyle Gabler.

@ballsopt He was one of the people used to make Gordon's face. There are actually several others who made his face.

@GordonFreeMANness Yes you can. And it's him. Other Valve employees (such as Ted Backman, Tristan Reidford, Yahn Bernier) have added him too.
