It takes me back to Fall 2006 when my sister's then boyfriend showed me Steam & Half Life on his PC, it was super cool to me back then and I vividly remember that I borrowed his account to play the games. After they broke up, I of course lost the information in order to play the game, but shortly thereafter I created my own Steam account. I love the Half Life series so much, there's alot of memories & nostalgia thats buried deep the game and also within The Orange Box trilogy, for me. I recently ordered my own Valve Index and I'm suspecting an 8 week queue time for it, but I honestly can't wait. I cried a few times thinking back on the things that have happened throughout these 10+ years, it's scary how things fast are moving sometimes - the bad and the good, the friends I no longer play GMod/TF2 with... I wish I could go back and experience it and not take it for granted, as we all probably do, growing up. Hell I'll probably cry when I launch Alyx with first ever VR equipment.

We can hope, we can pray. It has been over 12 years, it's been too long. Perhaps Valve is just waiting for a good opportunity to make a new one, such as a new platform for gaming. (which they did for Alyx) It's a bit of a shame you need VR for Alyx. I predict they will make Half Life 3 (if they do make it) on another advanced platform, unfortunately for us who only have a PC for gaming. Either way, it's still a bloody miracle if we DO get Half Life 3.

This picture means so much, even beyond the meaning it takes in HL: Alyx. It serves to show the writers block so many game developers in Valve have been going through for the past decade. They have been put through a constant stream of leaks, pressure from the community to make something worthy, and cancelled games. The fact that they were able to ship Alyx is nothing short of a miracle, and if the teaser at the end is anything to be believed, Valve has come back

Yes Valve has been more active since HL:Alyx and i remember they said the community motivated them to make more games so it is a perfect time to believe.

Thing is, if you really think about it... The story to Half-Life is really sad and grim. I mean, a single incident caused the ENTIRE planet to get invaded by the Universal Union/Combine. And now, with the end of Half-Life: Alyx and the confirmation of Half-Life 3, we can see how this depressing story continues, and possibly ends.

Its photo of Gman waiting in that chamber before Alyx released him, he just sat there like that who knows how long.

I love this picture because it shows that the G-man might actually feel defeated, or overwhelmed. You see, the fact that the combine imprisoned him and planned to use him as a weapon instead of an ally finally confirms the decades old theories in a way. It at least proves that the G-Man isn't working with the combine, and might be working against them. And this might be showing the stress that the G-Man's feeling, knowing that he's just an employee who's agianst the might of the Universal Union. Maybe he's stressed and guilty about putting Gordon and Alyx and others into stasis when he knows that they're on his side, they're also against the combine but he has his orders from a higher force and he can't risk himself disobeying those orders. I just think that this one piece of concept art of the G-Man is fascinating because if you look at it the right way, it answers so many questions. Maybe The G-Man considers himself similar to Godon in that they're both powerful, and they're both acting on behalf of higher powers. Maybe G-man isn't living a full life. He's carrying out the will of his employers. He himself is only living a Half Life.

Lo mas increible de Triage At Dawn (o Path to the Borealis) es que se hizo iconica casi por si sola, porque casi no se usa en HL2 (la unica parte que recuerdo es cuando muere Laszlo y creo que despues de tirar una Combine Dropship) pero utilizada en Final Hours mostro exactamente como se sentia volver al universo de Half Life. Ah, y la unica otra version que le llega cerca es Synthwave at Dawn de March Kovalski.

Damn this is good. Its sad but also happy, its sad because HL was missing for a decade but happy because its back.

Its surreal seeing Gman, the omipotent and omniscient entity that uses people like pieces on a chess board craddling his head in a room like a he had just been fired from his job. He knows the future and past, he probably knows how it will all end but here he is, in a room, trying so hard to keep it all together. It humanizes him in such a simple manner

Look, hear me out. Maybe valve is waiting for the next revolution in gaming before launching half life 3. Half life 1 was released when 3d hames on PC's were made Half life 2 was released with its revolutionary physics engine Half life alyx was released when very games were almost like real life So maybe _just maybe, half life 3 will be released when a new breakthrough in gaming will be made_ *and we will finally get our conclusion*

This picture... haunts me. Through the whole Half-Life franchise, the G-man is portrayed as an untouchable man, a force of nature not to reckon with, almost a God. But this picture gives out the impression that the G-man is in fact deeply in its core just human, a man suffering through a painful existence and unimaginable powers he probably doesn't even know the origin of. Maybe all of these theories we made were going too far, maybe the G-man is just a "Government Man" as his name suggests, a simple man who might have worked for secret services during half-life 1 and now just suffering for the rest of eternity because a new nature that he doesn't even understand and an Earth taken over by the Combine, as the nation and the ideals he once worked for are now long gone. And yet he has to remain stoic, emotionless in front of Gordon, because Freeman is the only hope humanity has left, and if G-Man wants to motivate him and help him work for the destruction of the combine he needs to hide his pain, but this picture conveys the idea that when he doesn't show himself to Alyx or Gordon, he is deeply broken.

Seeing G man with depression and frustration struck a nerve on me. The creation of many, Valve included of course, needs an emergence. This generation needs the culmination of all these years, a conclusion or just the beginning for this franchise. An ode should be made in Unreal engine 5.2. Please, someone, please do the justice that the franchise Half Life deserves. This must happen in one way or the other. It's a love letter for everyone who grew with Valve and all these games. Quality must make a new comeback.

Hi, im Salmonish, 17, and this is my Half-Life time capsule, I've heard talk about the HL series my entire online life, but I only decided to try the games out maybe a year ago and my god, I've missed so much. These aren't games, they're works of art. I started with HL1 but got bored with it and went through HL2 and the episodes, before cycling around to beat HL1. I'm currently working my ass off to get a pc built just to play Alyx (I have a headset but my laptop cant handle vr lol). I've been obsessing over this series every day. It's basically all I talk about now. My irl friends hate me for it, which sucks. They don't want to give it a shot for one reason or another. I hope they do. They might not see in it what I see, but it doesn't hurt to at least try, right? My online friends haven't played it either, but they at least care enough to not cut me off when I ramble about the lore and gameplay. They'll probably check it out someday, I hope. I fear I'll die before I see whatever end this series has to offer. I don't have a terminal illness or anything, but a lot could happen in however long Valve wants to take. If something does happen to me before I see that lambda symbol with a 3 next to it, then I hope ya'll have fun! For now, I'm stuck waiting. I don't know how long I must wait, but I will. I'll come back to this comment every few years or so and update it. It's going to be beautiful when the day comes and I can come back here and say "Hey, guys, guess what just got announced today!" That will be the day. Also, cool remix. Very epic.

Half-life was a great game it would be so awesome if there was another game for the Half-Life series but unfortunately valve couldn't count to three... People back at the time when Half-life was a great game, people wondered when is the next Half-life game? No responses to valve... People waited... and waited... and waited... Nothing came back... People started to give up on the series and moved on to other games... Till this day people are still waiting for the next game for it... Until Half-life Alyx came out and people came back. Cool graphics, sounds, and VR features. And now people are excited again to see if this is a sign of valve reviving and coming back to the series... Your move valve...

i wouldn’t even be surprised if Magnusson asked gordon if he was waiting for a hug and he held out his arms because he was just an MIT graduate that was hired for black mesa and got git because of aliens, the most trained division of the US military, and then he waited for 20 years. 20 years and then he has to fight even more aliens with another army in the picture, and all other militaries dead. And then he gets tied up in that rebel bullshit with Kliener, Eli, and Barney his only true friends.

We have seen the ending of Alyx... We know there's a 3 over there. my fellow Half-Life fans, soon we will see the E3 with a lambda and a 3 next to it and hear: we hope it is worth the wait.

That image is making me think about my theories surrounding G-Man so hard…I know the most popular interpretation of him is that of a sinister and emotionless being, but what if his employers are forcing him to do all this against his will? What if he genuinely cares about humanity, with his attempts to appear more and more convincingly human being a sign of his respect for them despite how far beneath him they are as a civilization, but was ordered to sacrifice its freedom in the greater war against the Combine? What if he ‘fired’ Gordon not because he thought he was useless or disobedient, but because he doesn’t want to make his employee’s life even worse than what he has already put him through? What if his statement of Alyx’s usefulness was an excuse to save her, and the real original reason he ‘plucked her from Black Mesa’ was because he could not bring himself to let an event he caused lead to the death of an innocent child? What if the line ‘I wish I could do more than keep an eye on you, but have agreed to abide by certain…restrictions’ was an expression of genuine concern and a forbidden desire to help misinterpreted as indifferent or even cruel? What if the comment “Purpose: The G-Man, misunderstood servant of the people” from the files of (I think) one of the versions of the first game still holds true? Maybe I’m just getting a little too excited in my determination to portray G’ as a good person (good entity?), but a piece of official art depicting him expressing distress, possibly even regret really made me want to believe that again.

Sadly, this is the case for so many valve games. A lot of them have a thriving fanbase but no new games and updates, take TF2 for example. One of the most popular games that should’ve been dead by now.

i dont know why but i find this image so funny to me because i'm imagining, while Alyx is going through HL:A and like, overlooking city 17 or going through the train yard, G-Man is just pacing around in the piece of room that he was contained in and just constantly swearing and cursing to himself. Then, finally, as Alyx arrives, G-man notices and quickly starts rushing because he didn't expect her, only to start fumbling and doing stuff like forgetting to grab his briefcase, which causes him having to pick it up in the actual cutscene.
