I want to go back and live it all over again. We had the best TV shows back then and lived in the last of the best decades in America..it was the party of a life time and we lived it well. We had the best TV then. Falcon Crest, Dallas, Knots Landing, Dynasty to name a few and growing up we had, The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, and for the first time ever the motion pictures of, Star Wars, Star Trek, Superman, Close Encounters of the third kind, E.T., Poltergeist, Jaws, Friday the 13th, Aliens, (No not the ones being aloud to just walk into our country right now in 2023), Predator and many more… We also celebrated the bicentennial in the 70’s when the entire country celebrated it from Apr 1, 1975 - Jul 4, 1976. It was like the 4th of July every day. It was fantastic!.…it was such a better time to be alive in this county. We never had the problems that are here today. It was unheard of for kids being shot and men walking around dressed as women. It was the last of America and we were lucky to have experienced it.
@msbigdog1460
Жыл бұрын
You're exactly right! I remember all the Bicentennial celebrations during '76. Even in my small town area it was a non-stop celebration that summer. We got to go trick-or-treating and didn't need an armed guard, we kids could go and look around the toy department while mom shopped and there were no weirdos hanging around, we played outside till dark.... It’s funny because I only see commercials on KZread and never recall any commercials on broadcast tv anymore. The 60’s, 70’s, 80’s & 90’s were where commercials were seen & heard. The actors could actually make a living just doing commercials back then.
Oh how far we've fallen !!! Remember when we COULDN'T STAND commercials ? And now they're more entertaining than the shows !!! They always say that life comes full circle. What was loved, ( the shows ), are now hated, what was hated, ( the commercials), are now loved. My favorite was the old Cola cola commercial with the little boy and mean Joe Green from the Pittsburg Steelers. So touching, even today. That brings up an idea, I'd love to know where the actors in these comnercials, are today and what would be their favorite memories.

I remember some of these commercials when I was 15!
doesn't get any more 80s than that segment at the end, haha. always a good day with a new retro 80s ad montage in my youtube feed!
Born and raised in Oakland, California during the 80s, and I remember so many of these commercials.

From Sacramento, I remember a lot of these too. If we only knew where we were headed. Remember music videos playing late at night before the tv shut off?
Man, these commercials brought back so many great memories, and from such a much better time in my Life, and in Life as a whole as well. 1985...I was just 5-6 years old at that time, and can actually remember a lot of these commercials. I'd do, or give, anything to go back to that year, but not to just be young again, but more so to just have all of my family back alive again. Getting older sucks a*s, and family members passing away sucks even more a*s. Insane how many I, myself, have lost just in the last 3 years alone, just as I know most others have as well, but it doesn't make it any easier though, or get any easier either. This Country, the World as a whole even, is so messed up now, and so beyond any kind of repair, that it's extremely disheartening, depressing and sad. Here's to the better times/days though...🍻.

Hey, I was 18 in 1985, graduated that year. I agree with you completely! The losing so many family members is the hardest part of all. Same for me, in less than 3 years my mom lost 4 of her sisters. Out of 15 kids in her family there's only 3 left. I know life changes, but losing the ones you love is the part that I hate so much. I, like you, would give anything to go back, mainly because all my family was alive and well then. But, at least we have our memories to hang onto and recall, yet those memories can also rip your heart out because you miss those who are no longer with us. My son is almost 20 and from the time he was small I have shared stories of how life was so different then than it is now, he too hates how times and society is now. I guess back then we really had no idea how good we had it. 👍😊😢

@@msbigdog1460 Most definitely. 100% agree with you. Back in September of 2020, I had to have sudden emergency/life or death brain surgery, and because of the surgery, my brain/memory is all jacked up now. Before, I had a perfect photographic memory, but now, it's hard to even remember something from 30 minutes earlier. The only reason I bring that up, is because everyday I wake up, I think a lot of family members that have passed, are actually still alive. Can't tell you how many times I have picked up my phone to call one of them, only to no longer find their numbers in my phone, and then I unfortunately remember. It's like a "Groundhog Day" scenario, having to relive it everyday. I think the hardest one, was my Grandma who passed away back in 2020 because we were like best friends. She passed when I had just gotten Covid for the first time/first year, and was quarantined because of it, so I wasn't able to even attend her wake or funeral. That, unfortunately, started the "snowball effect" though, and since then, family members have been passing on since 2021. Getting older sucks so much a*s. Lol.

I agree 100% with everything you said. I turned 5 in July of that year and I would do absolutely anything to go back and re-live it all. I get very depressed about it 😢

@@ericd1632 Me too, totally understand. Funny how when you're younger, all you want to do is grow up, and become an adult...but then you get to that point, and all you want to do is go back to those better times/days, when everything was better, and more enjoyable even. To me, and for me, it's not even about being young again, not at all, but rather, just going back to a better time. Things were better back then...mostly because we weren't being taught this garbage that is now being taught to young children, and the s**t that they're all being exposed to now especially. This World, this Country even more so, is all so jacked up, and messed up, that it makes it even more sad to remember the past. Horrible to just think for a minute that things will, more than likely, only continue to get worse. At least we have the past in our minds though...until we get too old and start to forget s**t...lol. I had to have sudden and emergency brain surgery back in September of 2020, so my short-term memory is already jacked up forever because of that. Lol. Maybe that'll be a blessing in the future, since things are/will only continue to worsen.
Skipping today's commercials while watching old ones...I need help...

Well, that makes two of us! 😂😂😂
Love the new intro!!! Still have some of those People magazine issues in that commercial..
In the 80s I was too busy to watch tv but I’d stop at home briefly between college classes and working in the evening but my dad would be watching… so these so remind me of his sweet company and the time of life when sitting around home watching tv was the last thing I wanted to do. Now my son runs in to change clothes or grab a bite and we wave goodbye as he runs out the door. I can barely stand the bittersweet feeling.
I was 8 & remember all this so clearly. If only we can go back for a day 😩
I grew up in the Bay Area, so this is super enjoyable and has me reminiscing even more.
I was 21 back in 1985, and I only remember a few commercials. And WOW!!! I didn't realize that Shirley McClaine was into exercising. She looked amazing back then.
Ahhhhhh the 80s!!!! How i do miss those days. When America was strong, family, friends and traditions were so important. A much simpler and wonderful time. Never to return.
Hamburgers tasted better in the old mustard coloured polystyrene foam boxes.

That's because it kept them warm. I hate the way they do it now. 👍
Oh I love the looney tunes and at the beginning. I miss Looney tunes. That's what I watched growing up. In fact it was my 1st child's nursery theme. Baby Looney tunes. 😊sorry I missed last Fridays live! I started working with a personal trainer and I was exhausted. Hopefully I'll make it tomorrow!
I love how the commercials of these times were so family oriented ❤
Thanks for the uploads. We needed 2 or 3 decades of the 80s and 90s man wat a time to be alive.
When commercials were actually good. I love the 80’s.
Who would have thought we be watching commercials. 😂 classic stuff.
I turned 12 years old on April 7th 1985. Great great times!!!
The year is 2023 and those 1980's burgers are just as fresh today as they were when they took them off the grill in the 1980's. 43ish years without refrigeration and still taste the same. POW!!
The good 'ol days when marketing wasn't overly subliminal and manipulative.
Love the new intro 🧈🧈🧈🧈🧈🧈🧈📼📺
