This is my favorite Haken album. Haken mix the best of the classic progressive rock genre and add their own original progressive metal twist. Very eclectic Prog metal. I was searching for a modern progressive metal band and was extremely happy to find Haken. I had gotten somewhat bored with Dream Theater, Symphony X, Fates Warning and Pain of Salvation all favorites in this genre. Of bands that came out the last 12 years Haken leads the progressive metal pact. Their first 3 albums are very eclectic and in the heavy progressive realm. All excellent releases. Kind of like a different band yet the Haken dna is of course there. This band definitely progressed. Much heavier. The Affinity release was also a totally different release to the first three. Kind of an industrial heavy Prog/metal with 80’s synth textures on top. Very original. Then the last two held together by a very heavy style and the same story/concept of a man who loses his mind, what he goes through and how sick the doctors can be along with the patient. They can feed each other’s sickness. Also very sick experiments are run on the unfortunate man. This is very unfortunate for the human being stuck in a very sick system. I’ve witnessed the doctor part to the extreme as I was grossly abused and misdiagnosed. I also had very sick experiments run on me. I actually went through this in New Jersey’s health system. People would be stunned to hear what I’ve been through. This is a very dangerous situation. Especially when the doctor is the only real sick one. Experiments should never be run on human beings. Im lucky/blessed to make it out lucid, sane and even alive. Im also lucky/blessed to have stayed lucid enough to remember what was done to me. I have a very serious and educating story to share of courage and faith under the most cruel and barbaric of conditions imposed on me against my will. A very heavy concept and one that needs to be studied more and exposed wherever it arises. I also witnessed criminal actions imposed on other people in the “health system.” A young woman got pregnant and was given a medication that is not appropriate at all for pregnancies. This caused a miscarriage or murder in other words. The hospital knew she was pregnant and knew this would kill the unborn baby. The beautiful young mother and the father who fell in love with her had no idea this would cause the unborn babies death. There’s a reason I survived all of this and witnessed others being abused. This is to help turn this around some way. I didn’t get into what was done to me. People would be absolutely shocked. Haken do a very good job with educating on this double release concept. Not uplifting music at all but at least it’s not about dungeons and dragons and it’s something our health system needs to have cleansed from it.

Yep. Big Pharma and physicians do more harm than good. I'm well aware of that.
