💈 Haircut With Prague's Sweetheart - Mariana ❤️
I visit Sarm, an old Communist era barbershop, and get a haircut with Prague's Sweetheart - Mariana! 💕
This is the third video we filmed while we were in Prague this summer. During our time in Prague I was really interested in visiting a Communist era barbershop. While growing up Klara, owner of Barberette, was familiar with these shops. So she graciously agreed to help us find a shop and approach them about filming. With Klara's help we were able to film at a shop named Sarm.
Due to the historical influence of the Communist era, all barbershops were nationalized and converted into a standard model of a unisex barbershop. Since the Velvet Revolution in 1989, the country has gradually been rebuilding a new history in barbering.
The old Communist era barbershops have slowly been disappearing. Sarm was one of only a small handful left in Prague. Sarm emerged in the early 90s when private ownership of businesses reemerged, and it was a business chain modeled directly on the old Communist era barbershops.
Sarm was the second barbershop we visited with Klara, and we met Mariana who agreed on the spot to allow us to film a haircut video. When we film, we never know what the experience is going to be like. When the camera started, Mariana quickly warmed up and stole our hearts!
▶️ UPDATE: Within a few days of us filming the video this location was permanently closed. Sarm's other remaining barbershop location in Prague has also closed permanently since filming.

Probably one of the nicest barbers you've visited and one of the more relaxing videos, good scissor noises. Not a bad haircut considering not a lot of hair and the language barrier.

I watch this about once a week and I live for the line/no line conversation and her complete satisfaction of how much better she thinks it looks!
She said her English is bad but trust me, her English is better then 90% in Eastern Europe. Lovely haircut.

I really like to see how different countries do various common things that I also do.I observe various details that catch my eye. I study things and give my perspective as an American and point of view. But I see many nice things on the video.

@@williamchristian8705 What strikes me most in American barber shops is their level of noise. Music and loud chatting seems to be solid part of their "culture".

Harry, I think that is the shortest I have seen your hair to start a haircut. She didn't have as much to work with as most of your other videos. I hope your patronizing her establishment brings her additional business. She comes across as very kind and sincere. 👍

Mariana's attention to detail is impressive. A true artisan of the barber craft. It is rare to see this in the USA anymore. I wish there were shops that had this level of dedication close to me.

SavedByTheBellend my point was no trimmer/liner or straight razor was used as well as no use of guards on her clipper and the haircut still looked very finished and polished. Barber tools have come a long way and I myself have many different clippers for many different uses/ jobs. So actually it's not silly at all. But again, I really appreciate you educating me. Much appreciated!!

The way she handles the scissors tells you how professional she is
I think those are the quietest clippers I’ve ever heard in a haircut video. Not the usual chainsaw effect. It kept things relaxed.

All jokes aside, this lady was great and very warm and welcoming. She obviously loves her job and very meticulously cut Harry’s hair. At times, she was so careful, it looked like she was cross checking her work with the mirror. 10/10, great job ma’am. Also, it seemed you were very easy to work with Harry. Please visit this place again.
She is amazing. I wish I could travel and get my haircut by her. She seems like she has more artistic value when it comes to cutting hair than anything.

She’s a sweetheart Harry... I think she was a bit worried about cutting a head recently cut...until she suggested the forward look. Now, she had something to go with...and did a good job. Perhaps Africa and China next year? There’s another cat doing the same barber in Japan, bringing friends and associates to get his full trip. THAT dude is a phenomenon with precision and detail. HairCut Harry if they have sold a lot of the stuff, that explains why the walls look bare. Interesting how she did the cut and style. I feel like barbers like this bridge the gap between 50's/60's and the modern era and help show some of the fashion from when men's style was transitioning from the classic era cuts to the salon era, before barberings recent reemergence
