It’s marketed as a high quality advanced hair clipper system to get you that professional haircut that you’re going for. But does this Hatteker RFC-690 have what it takes to cut through this thick hair and beard with power and precision?
In this video, I’m showing how to cut your hair and trim your beard from home with the Hatteker RFC-690 hair clipper and beard trimmer.
Now as most of us are still living through the difficulties of quarantine in our homes, we’ve come to find out that our hair continues to grow on our head and beard as the days pass and the barber shops may not be the best option.
As such, we’re basically left with a family member to give us a haircut or trim our hair ourselves. But the good news is, we’re learning a new hair cutting skill and trimming our hair and beard from home with a new found confidence.
So today, we’re taking a look at the Hatteker RFC-690 Rechargeable hair clipper and beard trimmer, which Hatteker touts for its self-sharpening ceramic blade that can cut through any hair type.
Now while the Hatteker brand may not be a household name, they’ve slowly grown their presence on Amazon with a variety of top rated hair cutting and hair care products ranging from hair clippers and beard trimmers to shavers for both men and women.
This Hatteker RFC-690 haircutting device seems to be no exception, holding and impressive a 4.5 out of 5 star review rating.
Accompanying the Hatteker hair clipper base unit is an approximately 38mm ceramic blade paired with a titanium plated stationary blade. This serves as your primary cutting device and can easily be removed for cleaning with the push of your thumb.
This is accompanied by 6 guide combs (lengths 3mm, 4mm-6mm, 7mm-9mm, 10mm-12mm, 16-18mm and 22-24mm). These guards can be attached to the hair clipper by sliding the pins of each guard into the holes on each side of the clipper.
Additionally with the Hatteker RFC690, you’ll receive a hair thinner guide comb, which can double as a protective cutting blade guard. A stand base, charger with usb connection, comb, cleaning brush and blade lubricating oil round out the list.
Taking a look at middle of this Hatteker trimmer, you’ll find an integrated blade adjustment capability, allowing you to maneuver your blade cutting length between 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm and 2.5mm. This range of adjustments imitates the use of a taper lever most are accustomed to seeing on a pair of hair clippers, allowing for a wide range of hair cutting and beard trimming lengths to be achieved in conjunction with each guard.
Moving down the Hatteker RFC690 hair clipper, you’ll find a power button, which works alongside an LCD display.
Hit the power button once, and the hair clipper will turn on while displaying your current battery capacity as a percentage.
To put the hair clipper into travel lock mode, simply hold down the power button for 4-5 seconds and the blue lock button will display in the bottom right corner.
To remove the travel lock, hold the power button for 4-5 seconds once more, and the trimmer will resume its normal operation. Do note, that when the charger is connected, the travel lock is automatically connected.
As far as battery life, this Hatteker RFC-690 trimmer includes a lithium-ion battery and requires 90 minutes of charge time for 2.5 hours of cordless use.
While the Hatteker RFC-690 does include USB charging capability in addition to wall charging, it unfortunately can only be used cordless and will not operate while plugged in.
Additionally it feels like an opportunity was missed with the stand base, as this Hatteker hair clipper and beard trimmer cannot be charged while sitting in the stand.
The Hatteker RFC-690 hair trimmer is 100% water proof and can be clean quick and easy with a rinse under running water.
Currently, the Hatteker RFC690 hair clipper sells on Amazon for a competitive price of $44.99 .
Now, for this hair trim, I’m going to have my wife test this hair trimmer out and give me a haircut. I’ll then jump in with the beard trimmer, finishing off this clean cut with a beard trim.

just received this today from amazon. some differences to yrs: it now comes with a bag (big enough to hold the shaver itself, though I'll probably use it for the attachments), an extra battery, extra attachments, and two additional heads (beard and precision). all in all, I'm liking it so far.

I appreciate you putting out these great reviews - very helpful. I just received my Hatteker yesterday, and you'll be happy to know that they've upgraded the base, and it now allows you to plug into the base and charge the trimmer while on the base. A very nice upgrade. I'm still trying to decide whether to keep this, or go with the Philips 5000 beard trimmer (BT5511). I keep a pretty simple beard or goatee, typically trimmed down to 6-8mm. While the Hatteker is definitely more versatile with the smaller detail blades, I was wondering what your thoughts were between the Hatteker and the Philips for basic beard trimming (since you've reviewed both). Thanks again for the great reviews!

Looks like Hatteker were paying attention to your video. I got the kit this morning and it came with an extra battery and a small pouch for the attachments, so thanks for that 😄 sadly the stand is still the same but never mind, it's a great product for the price £35 ($48). Looking forward to giving a whirl over the weekend. Nice video btw 👍

Hi, Francis. You are most welcome and thank you for the positive feedback. Awesome to hear! I'm glad Hatteker made the effort to implement some of the changes suggested in order to create a more positive experience for the consumer. I actually just posted a video last week for the Hatteker RFC-598 seen here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aGt4j6-GmafgZco.html. In this video, as well, I suggest to Hatteker that they upgrade their storage options, so it will be interesting to see if they make an adjustment here also. Thanks so much for watching and your support of the channel. I hope you have a positive experience this weekend with the RFC-690. Great to have you as a member of the GroomReviews community! Have a great weekend! All the best!

Heya, first time i've ever watched one of your vid and i thought it was great. I recently purchased this and i think it got rebranded... the box is a bit different (white and blue) and they actually have put a spare battery and a little bag with all the combs and actually added 2 precision beard trimmers (one wider to kinda like give the beard the "squared" look on your cheek) and one narrower (to supposedly trim the moustaches, which i don't have, so i cannot comment on that). Oh and also another precision trimmer for those two blades that go from 3 mm to 1.2 if im not mistaken. The stand is still the same tho, which is a shame. I wish they put the option to make it "pluggable" since like you mentioned, once you have to charge it, it has to sit on your sink or whatever. But other than that, they really did follow your suggestions (i dunno if they watched your vid or something). For the money, i think it's one of the best "all in one" solution i've ever owned, even more than more known brands. Cheers dude.

Hey man, great videos! I was wondering, when it comes to managing anywhere from the stubble look to a short beard, where exactly does this one fall for you? I'm currently trying to decide on a wireless buzzer for my face, but am torn. At this point, I feel like it's probably between this one, the Brio Beardscape (which I know you mentioned not liking), the Norelco MG7750/49, or the Braun BT7240

Hi, Kevin. Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate your positive feedback and support of the channel. When it comes to managing your beard from a stubble look to short beard, there are a few options I would recommend. The Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 is still the top beard trimmer I have reviewed to-date. However, when it comes to stubble, the Philips Norelco Series 5100 and Beard Trimmer 5000 are both options that provided a larger amount of small cut settings in very tight increments for getting that nice stubble look you are looking for. If you haven't already, check out my comparison video of these two trimmers seen here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/k4d5qMF6f8jUh5s.html. Additionally, the Remington MB4700 has even more trim lengths available in even tighter increment settings seen here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/YnhrzJmukqrKgZM.html. All four of these trimmers would be my suggestions to review. Take a look at my video and see which appeals to you best. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and being a member of the GroomReviews community! All the best!

@@GroomReviews Thanks man! In terms of noise, how does the Norelco MG7750/49 fare?

  • @GroomReviews

    @GroomReviews

Hi, Kevin. As far as noise level, the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 puts out a mid-range noise level. It's not too noisy, but also not the quietest, so I'd place it in the middle for beard trimmers on the market. Hope this helps! All the best!
