Hair Growth Tips from a Dermatologist

5 tips for healthy scalp and hair.
Be mindful of:
👉🏻Hairstyling habits that puts tension at the roots leads to traction hair loss
👉🏻heat and chemicals that add to hair breakage
👉🏻sebum and dandruff-even if not clinically evidence leads to micro inflammation that may contribute to hair thinning. Zinc pyrithione and Ketoconazole shampoos have been shown to improve outcome of topical minoxidil use. I often add this as a part of hair thinning treatment
👉🏻don’t forget sun protection and hat. Oxidative stress also contributes to microinflammation

My oily very straight hair with dandruff self keeps telling people I cannot possibly wash my hair less than every 2 days, 3 maybe if I'm only at home. It starts feeling and looking and even smelling very bad. But when I wash more frequently it looks very nice. People keep insisting washing once a week or even once a month should be the goal, but it obviously isn't good for everyone.

During the pandemic I really committed to only washing every other day and I ended up almost bald (it was bad bad) after two years. My dermatologist told me to start washing every day and using a milder clarifying shampoo and the difference in one month is crazy. Do what works best for you :).

I wash every day too but with a mild shampoo. I can't stand the feeling of my scalp even washing every other day. My hair doesn't break although it is naturally getting thinner. Do what works for you and ignore the nay sayers

As a hairstylist of nearly a decade, I can tell you, that you're not intended to apply strong hair shampoo on your hair. I've seen hairlines of numerous individuals, and I noticed that folks who were using strong shampoo cleansers usually had thin hair line. So I advise only to use mild shampoo cleanser only. I myself use and suggest to apply litttleextra coconioon shampoo only. Also, do hot oil massage two times a week as it improves circulation and promotes healthy hair growth.

But people with thinner hair get oily faster, so that’s probably why they use stronger shampoo. Of course people with thicker drier hair don’t need strong cleansers 🤦🏻‍♀️

I personally think that if you can’t solve the issue on the outside of your body then you probably need to work on the inside of your body. Fruits, Veggies, Protein, and a good multivitamin. Also water

I can see a lot of improvement in my hair. I have been using reactivate serum of liittllextraa for 4 months. It has become routine. Specially, so little hair fall that you can't even consider. Furthermore, my hair has grown longer with new hair growth and volume has particularly increased. I am very happy with the result.

As a hairstylist I was always taught that if ur washing ur hair daily it makes the scalp think that ur taking away the natural oils so it has to produce more, which causes the hair to be oily..is that true? Or is that not even a thing

From my personal experience… it doesn’t matter if I wash my hair everyday or every few days, it never affected the amount of oil my scalp produced. What I noticed is that is I protect my hair with a bonnet when sleeping, my hair is less oily. But if I sleep without a bonnet, I get acne and wake up with oily hair.

I love using argan oil as a hair mask for 30 minutes once a week. But you have to be careful because it needs to be 100% argan oil. Don’t drench your hair in it either, you don’t want to damage it. It would be best to do your research and find what works best for you

@@AngelicTigerKing Cutting them individually is waaaay too tedious so that's why people do regular trims Split ends happen because the very bottom of your hair is the last place to get nutrients Try to use healthy hair oils, avoid friction with your pillow or car seats (things like that), and try to keep doing what you're doing now (surrounding yourself with medical hair media- though know when you're being sold something) It really depends as to what causes it

DANDRUFF shampoo or Any Product with AN ACTIVE Ingredient needs time to do it’s thing 😊 So once you’ve gotten your hair nice and sudsy 🫧🫧 let it sit a few minutes (Or As Directed 😊) The same goes for skincare! If the active is in the Cleanser, lather up and watch a video or as one Dermatologist I know suggests…. Go take a poop 😂 Actives need time to work! Then rinse well
