The thickness of your hair is different to the texture. Fine hair is the texture, and the thickness is determined by the amount of hairs you have. I have fine, thick hair, because I have a lot of hair.

Hey ghoul hey! Thank you so much for this video, I really am struggling with keeping my hair healthy. I went blonde (with professional help) a little over a year ago with the ultimate goal of getting a color similar to yours. After a few disappointing sessions with my last stylist, paying way too much for minimal change and never getting to that color (it was like natural blonde and the stylist said it was the color I wanted), I gave up and am seeing a new gal Saturday. I really appreciate you taking the time to talk about your routine and I'm really looking forward to the video about toners and how you keep your hair that color! Thank you again!

You and I have very similar hair. I struggled with taking care of it for the longest time! I have very fine, weak hair and my hair is also about 4 1/2 feet long. I use boars hair brushes, and after washing I use my fingers and detangle. I don't ever use knobby brushes, like the brushes with the little knobs on the end of the bristles, maybe you have issues with them too. If they even come near my hair, it will snarl around them and need to be cut out, but everyone loves them so I'm very cautious with what is used on my hair!!! I love the Ion Repair series of hair products. They have a foaming protein that is really nice.

I had a ton of breakage from a few years ago when a girl did my hair and left the bleach on too long and the top was mush when she rinsed it out! I was devastated!! It’s finally growing out and is almost even again!

I do a lot of this! For years I would wash and blow dry my hair just about every day and then use a flat iron on it. I used crappy products and didn't use heat protectors. I tried to years to get my hair to grow out but didn't realize I was frying it. Oh, I also used box dyes on it. Anyway, about six or seven years ago, I did some serious research on how to grow my hair and totally changed how I treat it. I started using shampoos and conditioners without sulfates, silicones, waxes, and parabens and started letting it air dry most of the time. I also got a diffuser...I had no idea I had curly hair! When I started that journey, my hair was barely past my shoulders. Now it's past my waist, has lots of curls and I can go nearly a week before it needs to be washed. I also use a satin pillowcase and will sometimes put it up at night, but since I don't move around much when I'm sleeping I usually just put it up above my head on the pillow. I also use a microfiber towel and a hair turban. It was definitely a journey but it was SO worth all the hard work!

Hey ghoul hey!!! Definitely try out the Olaplex no. 3 and let me know what you think after you finish the bottle! One thing I forgot to mention is that my colors and toners take better since my hair is so much healthier! Just wanted to mention also one thing I've heard... I wouldn't recommend using it right before applying fashion colors - I haven't had any bad luck with it but some people say it doesn't take as well when put on right before color, so I use it after I color my hair!! GAME CHANGER!!! Hope it helps with your hair growth 🖤🖤🖤

Hi Jade. I’ve been using Function of Beauty on my hair for over a year. I love it. My hair is longer than yours and super thick. It’s great. 💜 I also agree with two wash cycles, Olaplex is a must! So is a Turbie Twist towel. The other thing I would recommend is to rinse your hair with cool water. It closes the cuticle and makes my hair so fluffy and soft. My friends actually asked me how I get it that way. That’s my trick to share. Thanks for making this video. Brushing it from bottom to top is a huge tip and saves from breakage. I also love my detangler brush. Amazing tool. Invest in your hair everyone. It’s so worth it. So is a satin pillow case. No more knots at the nape of my neck. 😁⭐️👻

I have never been this early to a video before - Hi Jade!! I used to have my hair blonde and it actually looked like I got short choppy layers done but I didn’t it was actually just my hair breaking off from bleaching it regularly and straightening it everyday 😂

Ahhh yesss so happy you're here early!! Also, ghoul I know all about those "short choppy layers" 😂😂😂 I mean, to be fair they look kinda cool and sometimes I miss the volume and people asking how I got such cool choppy layers 😂 even though we know the truth 😉 🖤🖤 Cheers to healthier hair though 🖤🖤🖤

About 11:00 -yeah, as someone else with long hair, I noticed that "shampoo, rinse, shampoo again, conditioner" can be a bit of a saver. Granted, I think it's only necessary if you shampoo 2×/wk, MAX. (Yeah, 1×/wk Max is what's necessary for most people, but I've got hell of psoriasis on my scalp, so the medication build-up can be an issue. So I aim for every 4-5days.) Also a HUGE fan of the Tangle Teezer brush!

I would suggest using a cotton shirt, or a microfiber towel! The paper might actually be damaging your hair because of the course texture of paper. 😊

Hey Ghoul Hey! I have wavy hair now but as a kid I had straight hair. When I hit puberty is when it became wavy. Now I’m 45 in perimenopause and my hair is about half as thick as it use to be. I’m sad about it but my neck doesn’t hurt anymore when I put it in a ponytail. I wash my hair about 3x a week and it sheds like crazy in the shower. BTW the tubshroom has saved my pipes from being clogged with hair. I’m not enjoying this part of the aging process. I’ll take any other suggestions on how to improve my hair situation. Thanks! 🎃

Great hair care tips! How often do you recommend people with color treated and/or bleached hair wash their hair? When I color my hair I wash it at least 2 times a week. When I'm just bleaching I was it every day. Also, is there a cheaper brand of purple shampoo for brassiness you could recommend for those of us on a budget? Thank you

Currently in the process of growing out my natural haircolour and no more bleaching to white blonde.. I really admire you that your hair looks so amazing! But I just couldn't do it anymore.. It's better now, I cut it a lot and it's not perfect yet but at least it's not disgusting anymore. I want waist long hair but the last 7-10 centimeters I still need to reach that goal.. Are the absolute hardest quest for me haha Nipples length yes, no problem but below that always gets super thin and I can't stand to look at it. Proeblaby gonna dye it back to brown next month, digging the natural look rn. Now on to watching the video. Btw I've been binge watching your Halloween decor series this year haha it's amazing so entertaining! 🎃🦇💜💜 Edit: satin hair bonnets for bed are amazing, they smoothen the hair and take out a bit of frizz too, I can really recommend💜

My hair was sooo damaged. It was fried from bleaching to the point it took all night to dry from a shower. I went to a salon to get it it back to a natural ombré so I could leave it alone and it literally didn’t hold the color they put in, and took over an hour for them to blow dry because it just suctioned the water in so much. It was a MESS. But finally, four loooong years later, the last of the blond that I had has finally been trimmed out of my ends and I have dye-free healthy virgin hair again! Edit: actually, my profile pic was taken right after I got a successful ombrée put in after a second attempt with the hair dresser lol
