My storage tip- A few years ago, we had an issue with some of our totes getting water inside them. It ruined several of our decorations. At first, I couldn't figure out how the totes got water in them- They weren't cracked at all, and they all had tight lids. Then I realized, it was humidity- during the summer, the basement humidity levels would go up and down, and when it condensed inside the totes, it would gather, and puddle up inside the totes. My solution was to use silica gel (like those little packets you get with pretty much everything that say "DO NOT EAT." I would save them up, and when we packed things away, we would throw a few inside each tote. No ruined decorations ever since! If you don't have a bunch of these BTW, you can also make them with silica kitty litter- just pour some in an old nylon stocking (repair any holes first of course, by taping them or tying a knot to close the hole) then tie them up and put one in each tote. If you have long stockings, you can make several with a single stocking, by cutting them into several pieces, and tying them closed on each end. Hope this helps! 💀

Idk if I'm ever going to 'undecorate' from halloween. There's just so much stuff I got this year that I love looking at. I got some weird vintagey cat/pumpkin figurines and the biting blossoms from target 😍😍 I feel like I'm gonna be so sad to see them go 😭

Also the big 3 tiered jack-o'-lantern from target I had on my stairs outside and they def rolled around and paint rubbed off them. I was heartbroken 😭

You can recycle plastic shopping bags to wrap some of your smaller items. Sometime it takes more than one bag to really cushion things but it has worked well for me in the past.

Your the Best 🎃 I do the same with packing and By color and name and of course Bubble Wrap 🎃 I do most of my own Ceramics right now I’m doing a haunted house with a church and headstones ghost in the scary trees and the moon I love it I’ve decided that I’m going to have haunted houses collection I’ve already got my witches, bats,pumpkins,cats and crows. love it it is so much fun some people think I’m crazy but hey kid at heart keeps your spirit young.Love doing things in Zip Lock Bags too. ☺️

The best part was Neens!!! Oh she is so precious. She makes me think of my twins sisters Pomeranian Merlynn. She got to be very old too. It would have been so cool if we had one of those dog slings when she got old. She was almost totally deaf & blind.

You should get a wreath box save space in your bin. I got mine at Michael's at christmas clearance I keep my christmas wreath and halloween wreath in the same box since they aren't very big.

The other good thing about decluttering as you decorate instead of when you're taking it down is that you have the opportunity to donate/sell it to someone who will get it to use THAT Halloween instead of in the future!

Awesome storage tips! I learned some good tricks for my pumpkin collection I'm getting to many to keep them all in a small bin!

I like that you're making this, if you're ever looking for something very specific, you can watch this instead of going through all the bins and unwrapping and moving so much around looking through everything

Love this! If you shop a lot online, save those bubble mailers so you can use those to wrap your smaller ceramic decor. That’s what I’ve always used when we move.

I also use plastic bags from the grocery store for packing and shipping stuff.

I took down Halloween yesterday and I'm putting up Christmas today! Perfect timing ❤

Lots if great tips in this one! One of the things I started doing because I'm doing a huge expanse is that I have themes and I store things by the room and or space I decorated. So I have a full mantel tub, book case ect. Then I take pictures of the spaces. I still have trouble not wanting to change things but I'm pretty much sticking to what I've done, unless I'm suddenly not feeling it. It's really hard to sometimes make myself not totally change things but I tell myself I've done my full out themed parties and the totally rearranging of things and at this point I'm probably punishing myself to try and change too much. So I'm going to enjoy what I have and love most. I also want to make sure I'm not wasting my decor by not getting it up because I was redecorating.

I usually wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate for the holidays too so I was over here thinking I was getting a head start on holiday decor hunting and omg everywhere is packed and people are already decorated so I'm like wait! I love organizing videos.

One thing that is helpful to do is to take a piece of cardboard or even a toilet paper roll and wrap the lights around that. It helps to keep them from getting tangled and makes it easier to unwrap then next year.

I use plastic bags from the grocery stores to wrap stuff in. We are military so I always have to pack things up really good just Incase we have to move before getting them out again. I always see people being able to just put things in bins and store them away and it always looks so easy and fast so it’s nice seeing someone pack like I do 😂 it takes a long time but like you said I’d rather them be safe then end up being broken!

I do exactly the same!!! I save all the tissue/bubble wrap from all the stores all year and then when I pack away holidays I have a whole box of that stuff to use it’s perfect!! I also use the big bubble wrap to layer the bottom of the totes with extra cushion! I am going to try out the vacuum bag situation for pillows because they overflow out of the giant bags I have them in! I know first ghoul issues 🤪 it is so sad to say see ya later to Halloween if I were a millionaire I would have a haunted house decorated top to bottom with Halloween year round!! One bad thing is that I'm super sentimental so I haven't really thrown out too many halloween decorations over time. I've lived here for 15 years and I have at least 16 HUMONGOUS bins taking up a huge portion of my garage lol. I had to force myself this year to throw out a few worn out decorations and I only added one extra bin this year so at least I tried lol. Also, I'd have way more bins but a lot of stuff got destroyed in Hurricane Sandy. But I can't get enough of Halloween decor!!! 🧡🖤🧡🖤

I was told those vaccume bags cause fluffy cushions etc to be less fluffy and flattens them for good.

I use color coded bins too orange Halloween, green Christmas, blue Easter and pink Valentine's day. The vacuum bags from dollar tree suck.

If you’re looking for more black trees, I saw at Walmart in the Christmas/holiday section they have little 2 foot pre lit black Xmas trees for $10!! I definitely need to go back to get one!🖤🖤🥰
