I love how they're both so distracted enjoying each other's company that they completely forget that their date is simply a promotional stunt set up by the movie studio they work for.

I guess I can see why they picked him to play Han Solo. He has a certain charm to him...not necessarily the same as Harrison Ford’s, but he’s still charismatic in his own right.

He honestly would fit right into Star Wars as an original character. Plenty of bounty hunters, smugglers, and rogues in that universe, but strangely not a lot of cowboys.

Something that a lot of people don't pick up on: this is basically the same scene as the "would that it t'were so simple" scene: he's flirting with a girl when he sees a bag he doesn't expect to see, and then gets to distracted thinking about the bag that he stops paying attention to her entirely. So we get to see the same scene the way "old hollywood" would do it and the way "modern hollywood" would do it. Most of the other "fake movie" scenes have a similar parallel scene elsewhere in the movie.

people think hobie is just a simpleton but eddie saw something more in him and hobie's loyalty to the studio should be rewarded. i like hobie and i think he and that girl would become a big-time hollywood couple and make a classic musical.

Star Wars geeks, but they hate everything.
Alden Ehrenreich is actually such a great actor. It's a shame that the dumpster fire that was Solo really hurt his career. Maybe small but impactful part in Oppenheimer will help revive his career.
0:25 they cast him to first do a young Solo, and now I'm convinced they'll use him for a young Indiana Jones, too.

@@anon9060 .... Did you watch this movie? Seriously, manufactured romances for the sake of publicity were very common back then. The fact that these two actually got along, was worth a happy laugh. Another thing I noticed about this movie -- everyone in it is deeply flawed in some way. Except the woman in this scene, who makes her living dancing with fruit on her head. That's worth another happy laugh right there. The Coen brothers can be absolutely brilliant.

ManUnited 20times how would you know? People like you are just strange - you make assumptions and act like they’re simply true because you think them - maybe realize that you didn’t know Harrison Ford had any charisma until you saw him in the role on screen actually
@MetalGearRising1126

He definitely has a certain charming charisma to him, but a different kind than the smug/cocky one Harrison played as Han. Alden is definitely a good actor, but maybe not a perfect choice for Han Solo. He’ll play a decent Han I think (nothing special), it’ll be fine for the movie. Agreeing with you, I’m kinda worried for him if Solo goes south cause he was good in this, and with the right material he could be a great actor.
