Hinata's " JAPAN" never gets old 😂😂😂

In Junior High, Kageyama's playstyle was all "YOU adjust to my sets". While Oikawa is "I will give you the best sets". That's what Ushiwaka meant he wants a player who would adjust accordingly to the star hitter, not the star hitter adjusting for the other players.

You are right about Ushiwaka. There is no malicious intent or being condescending for the sake of it. He is just a straightforward and blunt person who calls things as he sees them. On him calling Aoba Johsai "weak", you have to remember that he is one of the top 3 spikers in the country and plays for a champion team that always plays at nationals and is ranked in the top 8 of the whole country. His standards of what "strong" is must be very high.

That imagery of Eagle vs Crows is one of my fav symbolism in this show. In general Haikyu has the best metaphor and symbolism used imo

I love your current interpretation of Ushijima Wakatoshi! Yes he's a bit confusing to figure out at first right? But I do believe all his words are from his honest views about his own abilities and his observation of other players. And also he knows the names of our weird duo so it shows he really does pay attention to all the other schools in their prefecture, not just the power-houses, he just really believes his team is the best. And he has no filter XD

Simply put, Ushijima is the epitome of bluntness. His words have no hidden meaning and he does not sugarcoat them, similar to Kageyama, but more articulate. he's the type of person who not everyone will like or find challenging to warm up to. 😅

A information good to know. 3:23 If the serve hits the net but goes over the net like this, it is called "net-in." The netted ball is a very difficult ball to receive because it suddenly falls down while moving forward. But net-in is not a skill, but luck. No player in any country in the world can intentionally use net-in.

I feel it is fair to say both play a part. I'll agree there's no player i know who can consistently net-in, but plenty of people i know with killer top-spin serves either aim between the seams of players, or aims as close to the net as possible, so it is certain that with a lot of practice, you can absolutely improve your chances and frequency of net-ins, but never guarantee them.

I can't wait for you to meet Bokuto!! The most hype guy i've seen in the series 😆

I sometimes feel like ushiwaka was right about everyone other than oikawa being weak in seijoh atleast from his point of view because remember when Karasuno beat seijoh in the practice match which didn’t have oikawa in it and that was even before Karasuno had nishinoya and Asahi! So yeah sometimes I think he might’ve been right thought it kinda stings to admit it

Isn't it true about Shiratorizawa as well? Without Ushijima, the current Shiratorizawa would be a mediocre team at best.

You're basically saying shiratorizawa's coach and all of his years of experience would choose mediocre players, which totally doesnt make sense given how his character is supposed to be someone that's well known and respected and also knows what he's doing.

@@nekobakaful No, I am just saying that the current Shiratorizawa team is carried by Ushiwaka(mostly) and Tendou. Just take Ushiwaka out and the team won't be able to handle most of the teams competing in the nationals. Even without Ushiwaka, Shiratorizawa would be a pretty good team in the Miyagi prefecture, but not a national top 8 worthy team for sure.

@@teddymecheto haha, yeah it's weird but I think it ties into his nature of hardwork. In season 1 episode 22, we saw he was overworking himself to the point where coach and Iwa chan were concerned. Also when we were first introduced to Oikawa in ep 7 (I think), he was coming off of an ankle sprain or something which might mean he was again practicing to the point of injuring himself. So his saying makes sense for him I guess - "If you are going to hit it, hit it until it breaks" , he might also be talking about his opponents, about breaking their spirits, lol. Well this is how I am interpreting the saying

i get where ushiwaka is coming from about seijoh being weak without oikawa, but at the same time i think that's kinda rich of him to say considering iwaizumi and ushiwaka canonically have the same player stats... lmao

I don’t mean any offense but that stats aren’t a good way to compare players and I’m not trying to diss Iwa, I love him. I’ll give an example, pre-Timeskip Kageyama has higher stats that pre-Timeskip Atsumu but Atsumu is still the better setter. What I’m saying is that even though they have the same stats Ushijima is the superior player by a lot, Iwaizumi is still hella strong but not as strong as Ushijima

@@dani_simone I generally don’t think he was implying him to “weak” but rather average which sounds weird but then again Ushijima is one of the best players in the country who has had the opportunity to play with players in Japan who meet his level or a higher and even international players who are just as good and better than him, so it doesn’t sound that weird for him to not view Iwaizumi as “weak” but I totally get what you’re saying

14:30 ~ while there's minor parallel from very first ep it actually makes me appreciate Kageyama more because when Hinata challenged him atleast he wasn't as condescending as this turd Ushiwaka. His words were uplifting even (to be strong etc). Also that's a level head response from Hinata, any other men may start talking trash lol knowing the competitive and passionate nature they've shown so far. But to me when you bring the heat like that whatever happens in the future you'd be responsible for Kageyama and Hinata's improvements because athletes work on mental strength more, or equally with physical trainings

I personally understand Ushiwaka (USHIjima WAKAtoshi), he has been the prefecture champion for 6 years (3 years in junior high and 3 years in high school), he is in the japanese youth team, so to see a small no budy who couldn't beat Aoba Josai come and pick a fight with him is kind weird for him

I would say Ushiwaka is kageyama version 2. They are just too blunt with their words and straightforward on their thoughts and just speak the truth but sometimes it hurts others lmao but it would have seen annoying to him after hearing hinata and kageyama talking to him how they would surpass him and oikawa when karasuno have lost to seijoh which in turn lost to shiratorizawa. but just like kageyama, ushiwaka also appreciates good competition

Ushiwaka is not talking down to them, he was create by the mangaka as a samurai maind set person, he is talking in the bushido way, saying what he beleves in a non condecendent way to show respect even when he see them as weeker opponets, for us, non japonese people it may be hard to understand this way of talking but for japonese ppl is like a way to introduce Ushiwaka like a real profecional.
