I am unable to put into words, except of all the documentaries I have seen on the Hagia Sophia, yours is by far the most interesting because you show it like a regular person would see it. I am disabled from a work-related accident so I will never get to see the Hagia Sophia in person, but this is the next best thing. Thank you!!

Very interesting, "The cathedral was originally built as a Greek Orthodox church which lasted from 360 AD until the conquest of Constantinople by the Ottoman Empire in 1453. It served as a mosque until 1935, when it became a museum. In 2020, the site once again became a mosque." (Wiki) Your video of Hagia Sophia is wonderful and the music you chose is perfect for your video.

I feel that I went on vacation with the wonderful Sheekoz Family! the Hagia Sophia was beyond beautiful. I especially love how you took time to touch the walls. This was exactly what I did when I was in Italy at the Colosseum and other ancient wonders. To put your hands on thousands of others who left their mark is unexplainable. I just love your compassion for the homeless as well. You and your family are just what this world needs more of. Wishing you love from Michigan!

@@jackieblue787 my mother actually first visited a foreign country at the age of 68. She is now in her 70s and she is planning a vacation to South America this spring! It’s never too late to get out there and see the world even if you see it from your wheelchair or walker even. 🧡🤗

@@TheSheekozFamily absolutely! I have been watching you and Suzie for so long now that I feel like you two are personal friends! I understand that isn’t the actual reality, but who’s to define an exact meaning for the feeling of friendship and what it must contain in order to be emotionally valid? Watching Sati growing up is honestly the biggest marker in helping to remind me just how long I’ve been watching your life now! 😄 I still recall your videos after her birth and of her first visit to the pool! As a mother I feel the experiences you and Suzie are sharing with Sati will help to form her as a person and it will always have a positive influence on her heart and on her mind! Keep up the wonderful videos adorable Dan & Suzie! All my love 💙💜🧡

Istanbul used to be known as Constantinople, the mosques you see now we’re Christian churches temples, in the Byzantine empire, for some reason the Muslims did not destroy the pictures of Christ , it is interesting to visit Istanbul , the people who are there are very nice. But the sales people are almost as bad as in Rome ,

@@max420thc They did not destroy the golden Byzantine mosaics of Jesus and Mary, but they were covered in plaster for hundreds of years. Ataturk, who worked at modernizing and secularizing Turkey proclaimed the Haigia Sophia as a museum, and they started the laborious process of uncovering the beautiful Byzantine mosaics on the walls. Thank goodness for Ataturk, or they would still be covered.

I was wondering why there was a Christian church in a Muslim country. I saw the mosaics and I thought it was Christian. I know that Muslims acknowledge Jesus and his mother Mary, for it’s in the Koran, and I appreciate that they didn’t destroy those beautiful artifacts.
