It is genuinely so good. It’s very interesting that Ephyra has a few alternating themes. Either it is very intentional due to how the accessibility of the city changes every run (kind of like the Temple of Styx in the first game) or maybe there is some other reason.

⁠@@DschinghisEliMost of the regions have alternating themes, actually! Temple of Styx was one of the only ones that didn't. However, the regions will generally have themes that use the same style/instruments (asphodel had a lot of drums, fields of mourning have a sort of 'spooky organ' thing, oceanus has the sirens singing, etc). I think Ephyra's distinct melodies are mainly notable due to the memorable solos in other tracks and also since they're just so good that they stay in your head for a while.

The latter half of this is giving me Pyre vibes. That’s my fav Supergiant game so that’s a compliment. I like the more electronic and even jazzy feel (that track with the featured saxophonist).

I had one of my headphones on peacefully playing away and enter a boss fight. 03.55 hits, I pause for a second and get both headphones on as quick as i can. Couldn't believe how hard it went. This is so good

I really love this track and how well it conveys the feeling of fighting through a ruined city (the parts beginning at 1:15 and 3:00 in particular).

Every Darren Korb track is phenomenal, but this track takes the cake. It is perfect.

The fight is incredibly fun for the soundtrack and his kinda goofy design alone.

Listening to this more closely when selecting rooms/boons is what made me realize I love this song so much. Underrated compared to the other songs, but an absolute work of art nonetheless.

@@s_oba I'd disagree, in that more 'ancient' instruments would sound better for a Hades game, and for witchcraft set in a still classical era of Greece. Death to Chronos sounds great tho.

@@devonwall4083Then again...there was the "Final Expense Payback Mix" in the first game, which was...pretty dubstep/synth/trap sounding. And I think it fit perfectly. I don't think witches would exactly use traditional instruments of the time if they had this for an option, they are VERY unorthodox after all.
