Hadapsar Gliding Centre | World's cheapest flight ticket at ₹ 187 | Gliding in Pune
The Hadapsar Gliding Centre in Pune is where you can turn your dream of flying like a bird into reality. And don't worry, you will not have to shell out a fortune for it. The gliding centre at Hadapsar offers you the joy of gliding at only ₹187.
There are about four to five certified pilots who take passengers for gliding rides. Apart from that, the centre also offers a learning course, which a trainee can complete in about two to 12 months.
→ The Experience
Once you're strapped into the two-seater glider, the pilot in front readies himself for the launch. After the controller waves the yellow flag, the winch, tied to the glider goes taut, pulls forward and the glider starts moving at a great speed. Even before you feel the butterflies in your stomach, you’re up in the air, matching steps with the birds around you. The experience is calming as there is no engine sound to disturb the tranquillity and you fly wherever the wind wants to take you.
Heads up: Gliding is entirely dependent on the weather conditions so one can never be sure how long the ride will last. The whole process involves the glider being pulled up and once the winch has attained a certain height, being released. Then the pilot circles around in a hope to find a thermal, hot column of air, that helps the glider climb higher and take a longer flight.
When to do it
For the public, the gliding centre is open every Sunday from 9am to 6pm in the evening. You will have to visit the centre to book your ride. To enroll in the course, you will have to physically meet one of the instructors and sort out the application process.

NOTE: Mr. Bharucha Sir's speech is almost half an hour, however, I have taken permission from him through our email conversation to fast forward his speech and make video a little interesting as the same ( whole speech video cannot be shown in a single video). Tickets can only be collected on the same day of flying, no advance tickets issued. Also this flying experience for general people is only conducted on Sunday. Rest of the days they are busy with their regular students with flying courses.

This guy is very impatient and disrespectful to elders.
Most of the time you'll see him as the Pilot. But he was a designated Air Force pilot,Flying wing commander ( if I am not wrong). And a wonderful person ( I'm absolute about.) ( I have three flying experience with this man since 2008-10

GOOD NEWS... GLIDING CENTRE IS OPEN AFTER COVID - 19. For joyrides , visit Sunday early morning. People start making queue early from 5-6 am in morning. However the ticket window starts between 9-9.30am. First 20-25 tickets gets sure shot flying experience, rest people can be put on waiting or may not be issued tickets. Remember no online booking. You need to collect your ticket from window only. THANKS.

The gliding Center is very close to an IBM office at SP Infocity and I had taken this ride around 2006 and remember paying Rs 187. Remember it being a pleasant experience. Happy to see this video. Brings back nice memories.

Everyone who is out of Pune I want to inform you that you can not get tickets easily in a day only 15 to 20 flying and person more than 50 . And tickets line start by 6 o clock in morning first 15 to 20 person getting tickets only

Early 20-25 gets confirm flight. Go early in morning. Queue starts from 6am, and ticket distribution window at 9am. Note : only on Sunday
