Hada Labo Koi-Gokujyun UV White Gel SPF 50+ PA++++ | Ramon Recommended

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

After testing so many mineral sunscreens that didn't cut, I needed to get BACK to formulations and textures that would restore my faith in sunscreens again. Thus, I decided to test out some Japanese sunscreens I purchased from YesStyle! First on the list: the #HadaLaboGokujyunUVWhiteGel #Sunscreen! I love Hada Labo products for how gentle and hydrating they are on the skin, so I was very hyped to test this out. How does this sunscreen stand up to the rest of #HadaLabo 's products? Watch to find out!

So excited for this new Japanese sunscreen-focused series! (I just find j-beauty more sensitive skin friendly than k-beauty wheeps) I would love to see you try some of the Skin Aqua sunscreen + some kids sunscreens formulations (I find them surprisingly cosmetically elegant and they're often loaded with skin-conditioning ingredients and antioxidants) Would love to support your content for Patreon so please keep up updated on here about how that's going! (maybe first impressions, polls for deciding on the new video topics and exclusive Q&A would be a good start for a rewards system on there?)

  • 4 жыл бұрын

I might have a review coming up on Skin Aqua sunscreens 👀 and kids sunscreens would be a good idea! My only dilemma with that is that a good majority of them are mineral filters and we know how my mineral sunscreen reviews have been going. I appreciate the Patreon feedback. We'll see what I end up doing, but your ideas are amazing. thank you!

Hi Ramon! I just discovered your channel and love it and subscribed immediately. I love how knowledgeable you are about sunscreen. Would you recommend using this (or any other chemical sunscreen) to re-apply over a physical sunscreen? I currently use Make P:rem UV Defense Me SPF 50++++ and highly recommend it. It comes in a 200ml bottle! I switched from chemical to physical sunscreen because I hate re-applying sunscreen over make-up and thought that I don’t have to re-apply if I am indoors all day, and not getting direct sun exposure. Do I need to re-apply? Keep up the great work!

  • 4 жыл бұрын

Hi Loli! Technically I'd say you're ok if you're indoors and not receiving high UV exposure all day, so long as you have an adequate amount of a broad spectrum sunscreen as a base layer (which it sounds like you do!). I'd say this is a great sunscreen for reapplication, over makeup or other sunscreens, especially since it's so lightweight and quick setting, plus the UV protection is great.

  • @LauraRaeRae
    @LauraRaeRae4 жыл бұрын

I don’t know if I’ve said this, but I really love the four Bs. I started my first skincare routine in October and (as vain as it is) I only started wearing sunscreen when I realized how quickly it ages you and how much I really cared (just turned 30). My boyfriend, who is essentially a red-head, works outside and doesn’t wear enough sunscreen (or any sometimes). My real life fear is that HE will get skin cancer (I understand the hypocrisy on my end) and I’ve been trying to find something for him that he will enjoy and WEAR. And he has a beard. So thank you! I think the more men we see normalizing skin care the more it will become mainstream and help society as a whole! I also would donate a small amount to a patreon account with no needed extra incentive. I am someone who likes to support 5-6 people for a year at low the $5-10 range/month.

  • 4 жыл бұрын

That actually makes me super happy to hear, and makes me happy that people are finding my method of testing useful lol. I guess I didn't realize the fact that skincare still isn't super normalized for men. I understand that I'm obviously a skincare fanatic, and as a result, people around me (all gender identities) ask me things because they don't have established routines or don't know a lot. But then in my skincare community, there are so many men. That being said, I feel like a lot don't factor in things like facial hair and ease of use. My dad is someone who asks me a lot of questions now, and I factor a lot of what I review around what he'd want in skincare: easy to use and minimal learning curve lol. That'd be very sweet of you, and tbh $5-$10 was WAY more than I was anticipating asking. If I could get even 10 people to donate just $3, that'd be 1-2 sunscreens easily! I'm still working some stuff out and considering options, just wanted to put feelers out. Hope you're having a great week!

Hi Ramón, love your channel! What’s your opinion on the use of sunscreen that has a vitamin c derivative such as the hado labo and the interaction it has with the use of tretinoin?

  • 4 жыл бұрын

Well, I like a vit c in a sunscreen because it can help boost some UV protective properties and it offers some antioxidant benefits. When it comes to the interaction with tret, so long as their used in different day parts, I don't see an issue with skin sensitivity, but also I'm of the opinion that when both are used in tandem, the benefits are even better, since both work to help brighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation, and both can help with collagen synthesis. It's just a matter of if your skin can tolerate both in the same day.

Japanese sunscreens and skincare are superior to Korean, and European ones I find in terms of how they approach sensitive skin. I have very sensitive skin, and I can’t use K-beauty products due to their high level of essential oils, plant extracts, actives and other ingredients that’s not good for sensitive skin and/or triggers Malassezia. I can’t even use soothing ingredients like Centella, Mugwort etc. because to cross allergic reaction due to pollen allergies, and I’m sensitive to green tea which causes contact dermatitis on my skin if in contact. And even if I can’t use J-beauty products, I can at least use their sunscreens.

There are too many possible reasons. Using harsh cleansers or washing too much, using hot water while bathing, living in cold weather, not exfoliating, use of some medications, not drinking enough water, dermatitis. There are so many factors to consider, it is never only the product's fault. It's a mix of everything.

Can I used this sunscreen I have some acne ?

  • 3 жыл бұрын

I’ve had no issues even with my acne prone skin! Texture wise, it’s a lightweight, moisturizing sunscreen. I use this as a moisturizer+sunscreen all-in-one step. I didn’t experience irritation or worsening of breakouts or congestion. Skin is very personal and everyone reacts differently, but this seems very straight to the point sun protection

Can i use as a moisturizer with spf? Or do i need to apply moisturizer before applying that hada labo sunscream??

  • 3 жыл бұрын

Either or! Depending on your skin type. If you have more oily skin and don’t like to many layers, this is great as a moisturizing sunscreen. If you want the extra moisturization or have more dry skin, feel free to use a moisturizer underneath. It’s versatile in how you make it work for you, just make sure you wear enough to get proper protection!

What happened with the Patreon idea? I think it's good, cuz you have great cntent :)

  • 3 жыл бұрын

Idk, I think I just felt weird doing that? And not knowing how to make it so transparent where people’s funds would be going to?

@ Hmm, I see why there could be some questions, but I was watching several KZreadrs who used Patreon and just said it funds their channel, I basically understood it as a paycheck and have no problem with that. I've been also watching several skincare KZreadrs who started small w/o outer sponsorships and looked legit, but honestly, I think all their channels went downhill because of sponsorships from skincare brands, I just don't trust them anymore. Parhaps you could juggle Patreon and take sponsorships from brands that are not related to skincare, like Skillshare, Audible, etc. But that really depends on you, what you feel comfortable with, and what is your long-term plan with the channel and which direction you want to take.

What do you mean a substitute. It is a sunscreen in itself

  • 8 ай бұрын

@dav0111 any product with an SPF rating is a sunscreen regardless of how it’s marketed. It’s all tested using the same method and if enough is worn, you’ll get the advertised SPF protection

Do you use whiteners? The middle of your face is whiter than the other parts.

  • 2 жыл бұрын

No I’m just ethnic. Very common for those with tan to deep skin to have parts of their face be darker than others. I don’t believe in or condone skin whiteners

So feels better than Purito and has Better filters than Purito.

It's comparable to Purito in texture and has a more thorough combination of UV filters.

  • 4 ай бұрын

Most if not all sunscreens are literally moisturizers with sunscreen filters in them
