Yes it can, but I would personally not risk trying it. Its preferable to monitor etherscan.io/gastracker and transact at a time when gwei is less than 90.

@@AllanRyan yea eth is just worth too much now itself so for gas it's not ideal. Tokens need to start coming out on the bsc blockchain instead. Or risk more actual money on a extremely high risk token. Eg equal amount to gas then token only has to double to make gas back and triplle to brake even once sell out anything more you are on a win. But timing tokens right to buy in is very hard earlier the better for sure and hold till it 100x hopefully ha. More like gambling than anything.

That happened to me last night too - MetaMask won’t let you send your full amount to your bank account, leaving them at Zero. You have to leave like $20 in there for your transaction to even go through. Now I’m stuck with $20 that if I transfer it out, they will take most of it. I wonder if you can just cancel your Account and get them to mail you a check for the remaining funds. They are horrible, never using them again.

I understand your frustrations but there are simply too many people out there willing to pay those fees and that is why the fee does not go down. Many projects are build on top of ethereum, its difficult to not use ethereum in the DeFi or NFT space.

Just know that if you do this you will pay regardless of whether your offer is accepted!! “The Ethereum network requires gas to execute transactions. When you send tokens, interact with a contract, send ETH, or do anything else on the blockchain, you must pay for that computation. That payment is calculated in gas, and gas is always paid in ETH. You are paying for the computation, regardless of whether if your transaction succeeds or fails. Even if it fails, miners or validators must finalize and execute your transaction, which takes computational power. You must pay for that computation, just like you would pay for a successful transaction.” For newbies this is risky!!

Unfortunately, gasnow is no longer operations. You will need to use etherscan.io/gastracker and check the most current gas prices. I am currently searching for a new site that tracks the gas prices and plots them similar to how gasnow did.

USDT is on the Ethereum network. The Ethereum network is incredibly congested right now which results in high gas fees. I would recommend you wait until gas fees are more affordable prior to swapping. My advice is to watch etherscan.io/gastracker and avoid Ethereum network until the network congestion calms down. I would not even consider exchanging anything on ETH with gas fee above 100 gwei. Uniswap likely your best DEX tool once those fees are reasonable.

So basically you should not do this when swapping because you might lose your transaction but claiming rewards from a defi or strong block use gas tracker and adjust you Gwei. right?

That was the "Amount + Gas Fee". It was including how much ETH I was sending at the time which was 0.1 ETH in that example. So it looks like it was going to cost a total of 0.10126 ETH total to send 0.1 ETH so the gas fee was 0.00126 ETH.

So, for a first time buyer would it be more convenient to send axs directly from binance to ronin and then swap it with uniswap and send back to ronin; or send from binance to metamask and then bridge it to ronin? (In terms of money), or something else? Thanks! Your channel is great

You're welcome!! I would recommend checking etherscan.io/gastracker to check the gas prices. The ethereum network has been very congested lately. Essentially, I would not interact with those ER20 tokens until gas price is less than 90 gwei. You can swap on Uniswap which interacts directly with your MetaMask browser.

I have had varying success when trying to lower gas fees for purposes of swapping on exchanges. I only recommend using this method for sending ETH. There is risk of your transaction not being confirmed on the exchange and I believe there is a timed component that is important for the exchanges.

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any workaround for this fee. I believe this fee is dependent upon current gas prices so monitor etherscan.io/gastracker before starting that process.

When I cross reference gas estimates on different sites my fee is always $25+ dollars more? I just don't get it... my gas limit is at 276377

The "gas limit" is set by the network and is determined by how busy or congested the network is at that moment. MetaMask automatically populates this field for you and I don't recommend adjusting it. Of course, as always check gasnow.org prior to making transactions to make sure gas fees are affordable. And here is more information on "gas limit": masterthecrypto.com/ethereum-what-is-gas-gas-limit-gas-price/ If the gas limit is over 21k, it's likely not a good time to be transacting on the ethereum network.

What if i put instead on 50, 5 for even lower fees? does it proceed? ir i lose the transaction or will take days?

My estimated gas fee for minting an NFT has been between $12,000 and $26,000. If I try to edit the gas fees it comes up with an error message and won't allow me to adjust it to a reasonable price. I've sent 3 emails to support over the past 2 weeks about this and have heard nothing back. I really hate this wallet.

Hey Nate!! I understand your frustrations, albeit $12,000 to $26,000 seems a bit high. Please be careful about editing your gas fees, this is an advanced tactic. I recommend checking etherscan.io/gastracker and only transacting when gas fees are low, AKA when gwei is less than 90. The MetaMask wallet is not responsible for the gas fees, that is a feature of the Ethereum network which is very congested. Hopefully, you are able to figure it out! Good luck!!

Thanks for the video. My "gas limit" is super high (more than 200k) to send ETH from metamask wallet to ronin wallet for axie infinity. While last week it was only 5 digits. Any ideas why? If your max fee is too low, then you will have wasted the gas that you attempted to use to make transaction go through. It will not be refunded.

The MEW wallet app does not allow users to export, import, view, or access their private keys. You will need to send some ETH to your wallet so you can send your ERC20 tokens off your wallet.

Unfortunately, DAI is an ERC20 token meaning that it is built on top of Ethereum network and is therefore subject to the high fees and congestion of the Ethereum network. I recommend you wait until the gas fees are more affordable. Check out etherscan.io/gastracker and avoid moving DAI until the average gas fee less than 90 gwei.

You should check etherscan.io/gastracker first to make sure you are knocking the transaction out at a time when gas fees are not too high. Knock out the first nonce that is pending and that should fix your stuck transactions.

Which fields do I change on the advanced tab if I don’t mind waiting a day or two for the transaction to file? Also, do gas fees even go under 100 gwei on weekends anymore? I can wait for a weekend but what gwei should I wait for?

Don't touch the gas limit, you can adjust the max priority fee and the max fee. Gas fees are rarely below 100 gwei on weekends now. Check etherscan.io/gastracker before making transactions.

Hey Anas!! The gas fees right now are incredibly high! I recommend you check out etherscan.io/gastracker prior to making any transactions on Ethereum right now. If the gas fee is above 90 gwei for "average" transaction, you should consider waiting until gas fees are below that 90 gwei marker. Good luck!!

Yes, that is correct if/when the Ethereum gas fees are ~$100. When using Ethereum, you must "bid" for miners attention when transacting. Given the congestion of the Ethereum network, the bidding AKA "gas fee" is much higher as many individuals are using Ethereum network and the bid price for miners attention is incredibly high to get your transaction processed. I recommend you play close attention to the etherscan.io/gastracker and do not transact unless the "average" is less than 90 gwei. This should reduce the gas fee significantly but will force you to pay close attention to ethereum gas tracker listed in "gwei".

You're welcome!! If you choose a Max fee that is really low, you are betting that the volatility in gas prices will eventually drop to the slow regions and allow your transaction to occur. Essentially, you can think of the gas prices like a bidding war. A low bid, while not impossible to catch a miners attention, is at the mercy of the other bids in the network. I used to use gasnow to estimate what the trough gas prices were each day and then set that mas fee close to the trough, but gasnow is no longer an operational site and I have not identified a suitable alternative at this time. Meanwhile, if you set the Max fee too low, you run the risk of the transaction not getting picked up which may result in a wasted fee. I think its risky.

Assuming you are swapping an ERC20 token or ETH, I would recommend monitoring etherscan.io/gastracker closely and not swapping until gas fees are less than 100 gwei. Even then, the gas fees are still quite high. Is the token already on a centralized exchange like Binance or Coinbase?

For context, you have your password to your Ronin wallet and so you can still play, use assets, etc but you forgot you lost your seed phrases? If I were you, I would create a new Ronin wallet, right down your seed phrases in a place you won't lose them, and then send (gift) your assets to your new Ronin wallet.

I don't recommend using this for minting NFTs. Most projects build a timer into their minting contracts. This will waste your gas fee. If they don't receive the ETH within time limit, they cancel the mint and you are out the gas fee.

i kinda fucked up and confirmed a shity free mint with a max fee of 1 gwei lulz. i'm gonna have to mint in a few days tho for a project im heavy invested in and i dont know if i have enough money if i pay gas fees for this shitty free nft so i can cancel the mint. can i just let the transaction sit on pending or does it influence smth when i now try to mint a different nft?

The gas fee limit is set by the network. Don't mess with the gas fee limit otherwise your transactions will fail, that number is set based on the congestion of the network.

Ethereum network is dealing with some congestion. I have seen the network around 50-60 gwei during off periods over the past 2 weeks. You just need to pay close attention to peak congestion hours. More projects are minting on Ethereum each day and it continues to be the highest sought after layer 1 network.

If you set the gas fee to like 40, would it wait until gas gets down below 40 to complete the transaction? Or would it just never go through?

You would be waiting on the ETH gas market to go back down to around 40 gwei and if you have looked at gas price history, it has not gone that low in many many months. Eventually it would go through if the gas prices ever returned back down to 40 gwei. I don't recommend.

But the gas limit depends, right ? On your example you catch a gas limit at 21000, I try and my gas limit was a bit higher 😔 I guess I have to catch a better time to have a lower gas limit

Yes! The gas limit is determined by the congestion of the network. It's best if you can wait for the gas limit to be 21000.

I had to withdraw my weth to metamask but I had to pay 100 plus dollars . . The same amount with what i have . . So I reject the transaction and hope that ethereum lower their transaction fee . .

Check gasnow.org to see gas prices at different times of day. Try to transact when gas fee is low. Good luck!!

@@AllanRyan One issue I think a lot of people struggle with is how to move crypto from one network to another on same wallet. e.g on Metamask, moving crypto from BSC to Ethereum without using bridges that charge exorbitant fees.

Does this work when swapping on the metamask dex?

Hey Moonful!! I never do this to swap because i'm afraid to lose the transaction. I only do this to send ETH, send ERC20 tokens, minting NFTs, or claiming rewards for DeFi. And of course double check etherscan.io/gastracker first.

There is no "edit" option right now.

New to the space put in 200 bucks to educate myself by the time switching thru wallets platforms etc zero left before making a trade thought the banks were bad. Lol major turn off for me . I thought entering into the space be cheaper. The space needs to be cheaper to transact in my opinion to be adopted by main stream population. Also needs to be more seemless. Just my thoughts from a newbie

Hey Tyson!! I understand your frustrations completely! Now is a really bad time to use the Ethereum network given the high gas fees. I recommend checking etherscan.io/gastracker and not transacting unless gwei less than 90. What would you suggest for a newbie to the space on how to avoid or limit the high gas fees if I'm trying to invest in micro alt coins? A lot of the coins are unfortunately on the ether network but the fees seem to be high. Any feedback is appreciated. I will subscribe and share this vid for any helpful info provided. Thanks

Most the time I do not recommend centralized exchanges but in this case, it actually is sensible as centralized exchanges will insulate you from paying high fees for every purchase of micro alt coin. Here is a list of centralized exchanges: www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges The reason this strategy may be ideal, is that each CEX has holding of each ALT coin listed. When you go there and purchase the token, they allocate it to your specific account but they don't give you the private keys and are not forced to conduct a transaction. This limits the fees. When you decide to take the token off the exchange to your personal wallet, you will need to pay a fee. But if you are only speculating and trying to earn, this may be the best strategy for you. Personally, I do not prefer speculating on micro ALT coins.

Thanks for the great video mate. For some reason when trying to swap a token on this presale platform called Copper Launch using MetaMask, for some reason (I don't usually trade ETH just to add so don't know whether this is a common issue) the priority fee is the same as the max fee. I'm getting 163 as a priority fee at the moment which is the same as the max fee. Would change the priority fee down to 2 give a more likely chance of the transaction to fail, or as long as the actual gas limit and gwei is the right amount it doesn't matter about the priority fee? And could I put the gwei amount to the slow processing time with the low priority fee and it would still go through? Thanks mate will appreciate any reply!

For minting projects, I don't adjust the fees at all. There is a time sensitive window that the mint must execute in, otherwise the transaction fails. For simple transactions sent from one wallet to another without any time operative, you can lower the fees. A max priority fee of 163 seems very high. The max fee should always be higher as it will include the max priority fee in its calculation along with the network congestion as represented by the gas limit. Of course, always check etherscan.io/gastracker prior to making any transactions. I don't typically transact when higher than 100 gwei unless I am fine with paying higher fees.

Your video is very useful and informative. I tried to buy polker on metamask but the ethereum gas fees are too much. You think it is worth waiting for the fees to go down?

Axie Infinity warns people to not adjust the gas fee using the bridge. I personally would not risk it when sending SLP off of ronin.

Gas fees are determined by the network, based on how many people are bidding for miners to complete their transactions. The "gas limit" is set by the network and is determined by how busy or congested the network is at that moment. At time of making this video, the gas fees were low. Check gasnow.org to keep track of gas fees at any given moment. I don't recommend transacting when gas fees are high.

does this apply to nft minting?

Unfortunately, that is risky. There seems to be a time limit built into minting contracts, once the time limit exceeds the minting process fails. I do not recommend for NFT minting. Only for sending ETH or ER20 tokens from one wallet to another.

Either way don’t u have to convert eth to polygon which still is a fee

I realized many people were sending their ETH or ERC20 tokens from their Exodus wallets to their MetaMask. This does not prevent all fees, however it does prevent unnecessarily sending ETH or ERC20 tokens to MetaMask gas fee.
