​@FooFahFoeFum Your not acting like we don't have Slaf, Dach Struble, F Xhekaj, A Xhekaj, Guhle, Reinbacher, Pezzeta and this new 5th round winger who are all physical players. Bro we don't need more then that. Along with most of our smaller players like Suzuki or Caufield not really getting pushed around. Demidov also isn't "small." And I think people don't realize that he's 6'1 200 lbs. For a guy who just got drafted into the NHL. That's great numbers. Especially when you consider his trajectory is a mix of Jack Hughes and Krill Kaprizov offensively and a celling of Kucherov offensively.

Trying to jumpstart the rebuild by chucking away high draft choices seems to be short circuiting already ...Why not pick and build up youth while waiting to cast off unwanted vet contracts ...

I like thorpe but wanted colton roberts who went the very next pick to san jose and not big on our next 5th pick kinda wanted to see the habs take a chance on justin poirier who went to carolina later in the 5th

No sense in wasting a pick on a very small player.. we need some big depth players with these picks. We questioned Kent for taking arbers brother and some other players but it's all worked out so far! Let's see what happens

NOTE TO HUGO !!!!!!! To rebuild into a top team a proper house cleaning and strictly drafting is required ..Shedding draft picks and acquiring other teams unwanted just rebuilds into another middling team

Only 3 of the players for the Florida Panthers Stanley cup team were drafted by Florida. There are many ways to build a contending team.

​@@deanromanado5850I don't really like that example. Reason being when you look at a guy like Forsling. They took him and developed him into a star. They turned Huberdeau a guy who they drafted into Tkachuk. Along with Barkov and Ekblad being huge pieces. Yes. They didn't draft a lot of people on the roster. But they usually aquire other players with the guys they drafted or just developed them.

@@deanromanado5850 you are correct .... But throwing out your overpaid players like Vegas and Tampa is going to backfire sooner than later .... Montreal wants ...character ... Skill .... Speed ... Cap friendly ... Meaning not more than 10 percent of cap .... McDavid is around 15 % ... Mathews 14% ... These guys are cutting their own throats...

For the 3rd year in a row HuGo has given away draft picks in upper level ...That looks problematic ...Do they not have scouts ? There are lots of good players drafted at the level they have offed their picks ...LA hosed the Habs real bad !!

​@FooFahFoeFum they have. They drafted reinbacher, slaf, arbers brother, I hope this isn't to bash demidov. He's the same size as other top Russian players. He also isn't one dimensional. He's the best player mtl has had since guy lafluer. If they went for a big player the next guy isn't that great just for 2-3 extra inches. Makes no sense.
