At my old job, the coolant was so bad it would constantly give me a chest infection 😦... I promptly quit that job. Thankfully my current job is on top of keeping the coolant good.

The shop I work at let the coolant get so bad in our vf2 at one point that it corroded all the paint off inside the coolant tank and made the paint inside the mill all gummy. They kept trying to save the coolant by skimming, using antibacterials, etc but it wasn’t even coolant at that point lol. Looked like swampy burnt marshmallow.

That sounds like the pH got way off. I use a Zebra sidewinder in my old 96 VF3 and it works fine. I add one of their 'coolant tablets' to my sump every couple of weeks to help fight that pH imbalance. When I'm working the machine regularly, it gets about 5 gallons a day of top-up fluid ( at reduced dilution) so I can't really say how old my coolant is :D. Haven't had to change it for a couple of years. It may be slightly off smell after sitting for a while, but that soon dissipates when running it. I skim the tank religiously for a half hour every night. Not sure if Haas makes some conditioner for that purpose. I hate to use biocides as that becomes aerosolized. Biocides also defy logic, because the dead matter just breeds a hardier bunch of bugs to eat it.

Thank you. I add a couple of tablespoons of regular clothes bleach per gallon of coolant. It works great.

Don't run 7075 with that while using black oxide cap screws to hold it down. We had a batch of parts ruined due to a few caps of bleach in the tank of a fadal 6030 (maybe 50 gal tank)

We have a 2019 VF3 YT with the Haas skimmer...... Do you know what the part numbers are for the o-ring and scrapers?

I work with a guy who hasn't changed his coolant in over 4 years. Sometimes one of his machines will sit for a week and he'll run the coolant and it literally smells so bad you can smell it 20-30 ft away. It's nothing but pure laziness to not change coolant every 6 months to a year. I understand coolant isn't cheap but I mean god damn who wants to work in waste water?

Does it fit to Old umc750?

Pe os, Unfortunately the Oil Skimmer is only compatible with the 55 and 95 gallon external tanks. Tanks built after May 2019 come ready with a hole and slot for the oil skimmer. Older external tanks can have these cut outs added to work with the skimmer. But the integral coolant tank on the old UMC-750 leaves no room to mount the skimmer.
