Overall, Rodri has again been the best player over the course of the season, but he isn't rushing about sliding into people every few minutes so, as a DM in the UK, he gets overlooked. Outside of him, if Haaland can't get POTY with 42 goals in 36 games so far (with potentially 18 more games to play) I don't know what the hell is going on. Also, the idea that he is a "bad footballer" is silly, he has some really nice assists this season and his linkup play is improving all the time.

I think Rodri was the best player in the league last season and even tho he's slightly not as good as he was last season, he's been incredible this season. Haaland was bullying Ruben Dias in the CL when we faced Dortmund and even tho he didn't score a goal, he had a good game against us and even grabbed a pretty good assist

It seems very apparent to me that a lot of people don't recognize that Man City have had a lot of players who've displayed sub-par form this season. Many of the same people also took it for granted before the season even started, that Man City would run away with the league title this year, because they've done so several times over the past few years. It doesn't work like that. There is an end to a player's motivation, and these players do actually grow older over time. They don't just sustain and repeat the same level of football until fans give them the green light to stop doing it, lol. Johan Cruyff: "After you've won something, you're no longer 100 percent, but 90 percent. It's like a bottle of carbonated water where the cap is removed for a short while. Afterwards there's a little less gas inside." Football fans: "They've won it before, so they'll definitely win it again".

@@ricardoalk Stats are important, yes. But they don't tell the whole story. So let's look at some other stats. Total amount of team goals in PL this season - Arsenal: 66, Man Utd: 41. Meaning Rashford (with 16) has almost half of them. Total amount of goals against - Arsenal: 26 vs. Man Utd: 35. Avg. possession stats - Arsenal: 60.5% vs. Man Utd: 52.7%. And if you look at decisive game involvements, Rashford's stats won't be far behind too many PL players this season. Arsenal's team stats are comparable with Man City's ones every time they've won the league in recent years and they've had way more possession in the opponents half than Man Utd.

Rio's comments about Carrick were spot on - to this day I'm still annoyed at his lack of time with England. He would have complemented the team so much better than constantly trying to play Gerrard and Lampard. Even if Gerrard and Lampard are 'better' than Carrick, they play different roles. Put Carrick as a 6 with either of them as an 8/10 (or preferably Scholes) would have made the team so much better.

Saying that Haaland hasn`t had the impact is insane, Haaland is the player carrying Man City this season. City has had shaky defense, players that wanna leave Silva and Cancelo, Injuries to important players like Ruben Diaz, and aging midfield with only KDB playing at his level. Without Haaland City would probably be somewhere between 7-10th this season.

What Joel is missing when he keeps saying haaland is just scoring goals, is that for cities history, full of great midfielders and strikers, they have never had a player get these numbers like this. It's frankly ridiculous. And he's covering his eyes and pretending otherwise on this one.

@@sandboxplayerz667 let's put this in to context seeing as you brought up Ronaldo. Haaland has already equalled Ronaldo best ever season in England for goals scored. That's the year Ronaldo won balon dor btw. The season Ronaldo did that he didn't track back, he didn't defend. He actually did very little for the team in the way you express important. The team had to compensate for those things. Now I haven't checked, but what if united scored less goal that season than the season before? By your logic it would make the individual performance less. Do you realise your logic?

@@sandboxplayerz667 I think you have come at this the wrong way. If united with young Ronaldo refused to adapt to his style then it might end up with him scoring loads but united not playing as well. My point with haaland is that any team deficiencies could be overcome if the team was about that. Either way, none of that diminishes the absolute monster haaland is proving to be. Another way to look at it might be to say forget man city entirely. Haaland could join any team and score buckets and they would welcome him without hesitation. He is that good. I don't know what team you support, but I do know the majority of that fan base would take haaland in a heartbeat
