Third, short, or second, it doesn't matter. Kim's glove is gold and his arm is incredibly accurate. This video shows so many off balance throws that are right on the money. I remember when he first came into the league he had a hard time handling fastballs as a hitter and didn't have much power. Last season he was one of the Padres most consistent hitters and if you made a mistake he was glad to pop it over the left field wall. Can't wait to see him play in Seoul, Korea against the Dodgers.

I love watching him play so much. He will be SS but catch a pop up in LF, get a hard hit ball near 2nd 😂He’s a beast! I love watching him play. Hiss attitude and HUSTLE whether they are winning or losing. This man doesn’t give up till the game is over. I wish all players had that attitude. I hope his actions motivates his teammates and his captain. SD needs to care just as much a faithful does in them. “I believe that we will win.”

What makes him one of the top 3 defensive shortstops in the sport, is his footwork and his arm accuracy. His arm is good not great...but because his footwork is impeccable, he's able to make VERY accurate throws. Machado has the best arm on their team...he has firepower in his arm and he's great at dialing down how much power he uses to throw a baseball...but Kim's footwork is his source of power, so to speak. When he's in position to throw a baseball, YOU'RE OUT.

Most underrated shortstop in the MLB right now. Even as a Dodgers fan, I won't forget the horrors of the chants of his name that electrified the entire stadium and that double he hit off Yency Almonte for Padres to come back and knock us out of 2022 NLDS despite the 111 win season. It is surprising how much he has improved and he is still only improving. I wonder what Padres will do with him since they only have one year left with him. IMO, He should've been extended back in 2023 instead of Cronenworth.

I agree on the extension part. I'm curious to see if they sign Kim to SS and trade cronenworth. He's good but 1st base isn't his natural position. He's amazing at 2nd but that padres infield is STACKED

​@@baseballvideos90 Extending Kim got lot harder. If they had extended in early 2023 where Darvish, Cronenworth, Machado, Suarez, Musgrove got extended, it would've been lot cheaper and easier. But Kim's value has gone up while trade value is going down as he gets closer to hitting free agency. Kim excels in WAR and he is well liked not just in the clubhouse but also by many Padres fans. He is a perfect player for managers because he is not a flashy superstar, but gets the job done efficiently. Best of all, he's not injury prone. He goes out of his way and gives 110% for the team. It's why it still boggles my mind how Padres didn't extend him. They clearly saw the trajectory of his improvement, they clearly know how much the city loves him as fan favorite, how versatile he is playing ss, 2b, 3b all at a gold glove calibre.

I looked it up and it says so far Kim has a DRS(DefensiveRunsSaved) of 22 in 3 years and already has 1 this year. To put that into perstective: Brandon Crawford Career DRS = 54 in 12 years Carlos Correa Carrer DRS = 68 in 8 years Andrelton Simmons Career DRS = 202 in 10 years

Cronenworth is stuck in a bad spot. He came in as a 2nd baseman and did what the team needed to help save the team and now all his ACTUAL positions are filled with stars 😪

다른것보다 난 하성이의 판단력이 정말 좋다고 생각한다. 야수선택이 거의없음. 땅볼을 잡고 1루가 아닌 다른곳에 승부할때 거의 성공. 늘 집중하고 있다는 뜻이겠지? 하성이 화이팅!!

Love Shin Soo Choo. He was the absolute GOAT before Ha Seong Kim. But I think if you asked even Shin Soo Choo right now, he'd hand the torch to Ha Seong Kim. Choo played 16 seasons and racked up a whopping 34WAR. Ha Seong Kim has only played 3 seasons and already is sitting at 12WAR. I think people really underestimate how good of a glove Ha Seong Kim has. In my opinion, Ha Seong Kim is one of the best infielders in the MLB defensively.@@josephk7530
