This is the most Ron Swanson ending I've ever seen on a youtube video. "*slight pause after finishing the communication of relevant information, as if waiting for the camera to go away now*... That is all. Thankyou." Thanks for the video!

@Olecia Toomer, Water samples drawn from within a region can have very similar or even the same hardness readings as they experience similar or identical water influents. Neighboring rural communities on well water may be drawing from the same aquafers and therefor may have the same hardness levels. Homes within the same town on city water will have similar hardness levels as they are all drawing from the same original source. And faucets within a building should all have identical levels as hardness is primarily dissolved into water prior to it entering the structure. If you are still concerned that these readings may be wrong, please verify that you are using the Hardness Solution 1 (buffer) and Hardness Solution 3 (reagent) at the appropriate point in the process and not switching them, or send samples for us for our lab technician to test and verify your results. - Thank you

it would be nice if you provided a little more detail about hardness. what is 1 grin supposed to mean?

Hardness is measured in Grains Per Gallon. The grain per gallon (gpg) is a unit defined as 1 grain (64.8 milligrams) of calcium carbonate dissolved in 1 US gallon of water (3.785412 L). 1 grain per gallon of hardness is the lowest level of harness this test kit can measure.

How many drops for number 3? You didn't indicate!

You add #3, one drop and mix, then another one drop, mix..............count the drops you add until it turns blue. lets say it took 7 drops to turn blue...its 7 grains of hardness....hope this helps

@Rotaris is correct. Thank you for your help with this. If it takes 3 drops of solution #3 for the water to turn blue, then the water is 3 grains hard. If it takes 20 drops of solution # 3 for the water to turn blue, then the water is 20 grains hard.

Apparently, I'm stupid. The water turns blue after adding solution #2, and he says to add #3 drop by drop until it turns blue. He adds one drop and proclaims it turned blue, when it was already blue. What is the point?

@S R we apologize for any confusion. This is an example of how to test water for hardness utilizing the Hach HA-62 water test kit. The water that was being tested in this example was already soft, so there was only a nominal amount of hardness to be indicated in the color. I suppose this video also shows how well Lancaster Water Group softeners work. - Thank you
