I have been following this channel for a while now and of course I do have my favorites, but for some reason - THIS - this track has combined so much of what I love into this. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!! The melodies, the build up, I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS from the very first note to the very last!!!!!!!! SIMPLY EPIC as usual!!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Part 12: The Calm Before the Storm 54 days before the fall of Stormguard, the Outskirts All over the place, Imperial forces were preparing the second line of defence. It had been a hit to the defenders' morale when Lord-Captain Eckhart and his 2nd company had been ordered to quit Stormguard, but someone had to take the bodies of the fallen out of the doomed Fortress-City, so the remaining commanders had drawn straws. Eckhart had been the unlucky one, and thus his company was gone now. This caused an uncomfortable silence amongst the defenders as they worked. It did not help that the enemy wasn't attacking yet. Normally, people might have taken that as a good sign, but now no one could shake the feeling that the enemy was plotting something. In truth, the scouts had already reported on enemy activity, as the enemy was preparing their own positions in case of a counter attack, but the truth wouldn't quite sink in. The thing that did break the heavy atmosphere was when a ray of light shone down on the defenders. Not quite literaly, but Epistolary Verillion was a little too poetically inclined to word it differently in his mind. The psyker had arrived with the other reinforcements, to add his might to the defences. Everyone was glad to see strength added to their positions, in some places the Librarian even caught glimpses of hope in the eyes of the Guardsmen looking at them. Yet as glad as they were to see them, Verillion quickly found himself alone yet again. This often happened, and in his mind he knew why. Simply because to those that barely knew him, he seemed too exalted to approach, even for one of the Astartes. He did not mind, of course. He had worked long and hard to ensure people saw him as a figure that brought hope and took away pain, merely with his presence. But it did leave him isolated, as no one was quite sure of how to talk to him, or even whether they should talk to him. Those that knew him a bit better tended to stay away from him for a different reason. Verillion's rage was different from that of his brothers. His rage was cold, calculated. It was a rage born from an absolute disdain for all but a few around him. He cared little for those he had to protect, they were beneath him after all. Duty forbade him from showing that indifference in public, but the fact remained no matter what face he wore. Most of his brothers disapproved of this attitude, but since he also deemed himself better than most of them, he did not care. But his brothers did treat him as one of their own, even if he counted only a few of them as truly being his friends. In truth, no matter what he thought and felt the reasons were, most of his isolation was self imposed, and that choice was respected by most around him, not because he had asked, but because when he thought no one was watching, his mood turned more sombre. Word of that had spread amongst the soldiers, human and Astartes alike, and he was even thought to speak to the dead when he was alone, which was not entirely untrue. He often spoke to his dead Sword-Brother when he was alone. Zacharriah and he had been inseparable, and the loss of his closest friend still marked Verillion, and it always would. That was not to say that Verillion lived his life entirely alone however. No matter how much he tried, there were some amongst his brothers that he could not quite seem to get rid of. Individuals that, over time, he had learned to appreciate, and that now made up his circle of friends. One of those individuals was currently standing at the barricades, looking out into the outskirts. Lord-Captain Arkio's hand rested on the hilt of his axe, as Verillion imagined it had ever since the siege started, but as the Librarian came into view, the Lord-Captain's face formed into a tired smile "You're late." Verillion's own smile was far more calculated, near perfect. To onlookers, it was as if an angel from the mythologies of old Terra had descended amongst them. To Arkio, it was just another one of his brothers, and that was something Verillion appreciated about his friend. His reply sounded upbeat, starkly contrasted by the tired whispers exchanged by the men all around them "I'm aware. Storm Bastion wouldn't let us join the lines. Can you imagine? The old sorcerer had to threaten to leave the city to get us deployed." At that, Arkio laughed heartily. The first time he had laughed like that in a while. The remark wasn't particularly funny, and Verillion knew that too, but he was well aware why his brother laughed anyways. Arkio's expressions and behaviour were also very much calculated, just to a different purpose. And as around them, the human soldiers started to let out nervous chuckles, he also knew it had worked. Arkio acted the way he did, in order to seem more human. That put the people around him at ease, and if Verillion was quite honest it made him far more well liked than most of his brothers. Even his answer was also perfectly weighted to that end "I didn't know you Librarians had a death wish all of a sudden." "I would not call it a death wish, as much as I would say that it is an overwhelming urge to step away from all the numbers and readouts. I have no idea why they had me memorize the number of available lasgun powerpacks, since it is not my job to keep track of that, but they did anyway. And knowing my brilliance, that will not leave my mind for... well, forever." They both turned back towards the defences, and Arkio placed a gauntleted hand on the barricade before them. He lowered his voice, now that the public exchange was over "Any new orders from Storm Bastion?" "The usual: 'Hold the line' and 'push the enemy back as long as you can'. Nothing you didn't know already." Arkio nodded "Who has zone command? Since Eckhart left, we don't know who is supposed to be our commander. It's led to... issues." His gaze shifted to the improvised hospital behind their lines for a moment. "That bad, huh? Lord-Captain Mordacin and his 5th are in command for now, they have taken up their positions. First Lord-Captain Avriol will personally take command as soon as his 1st can join us." "And everyone is aware of this?" "More or less." This got Verillion a concerned look from his friend, but Arkio quickly moved on. "Either way I am glad you're here, Rill. We need all the help we can get." Both men were silent for a moment before he whispered the next few words, so that no one else would hear them "Besides if I am to die here, I'd rather do so side by side with a friend." Verillion smiled for a moment and for a moment the facade of the perfect angel broke. The smile he showed was filled with acceptance and genuine brotherhood, a rare sight from the sombre Librarian "As would I, my friend. As would I."

Here comes the final part. You will glimpse the greater tale of Telenar in it, and I hope you like it. I have huge plans for the future with this world. Any constructive criticism, feedback and encouragement is welcome. Now, enough blabbering, read on and enjoy. Garreth woke up in a comfortable bed, wearing hospital clothes, and stared at the white ceiling above, trying to recall how he got there. Vaguely, flashes of a bloody, rage filled fight streaked across his memory. Flashes of conscious moments came to his mind, the slim, pretty, little elf girl staning over him in a woods, some kind looking older elf man with graying hair driving a cart with a white walled city in the distance. He looked around the small, quiet room. On the right was a small, white table next to the bed with some vials empty, some full. Farther down the wall, around the foot of the bed lay his armor and weapons, all heaped together as nicely as possible. He turned his head and looked left to see only an empty chair next to a curtain drawn window. Garreth lay there in silence, having no intention to move. He felt tired. Healing potion worked, but when in a near death situation like that, it only did a little, restored some blood and healed minor cuts and the like. He probably lived only because the hospital provided more, but too much usually left a man stiff or killed him with high blood pressure. After a long wait, long enough to make him think about moving, the door opened and the older elf who Garreth assumed brought him here came in. He smiled and… turned around and left. Garreth lay there stunned. “H-hey,” he wheezed out, trying to get the elf to stop, but he just kept walking. Garreth tried to mutter to himself, but his voice was hoarse. Another wait later, the elf girl walked in. To his surprise, she was actually smiling He smiled at the strange thought more then he did back to her. She was wearing a sky blue dress, with green vines embroidered from the bottom up and a mid hight neck, overly modest by standard of the Cardellia. “Glad you’re finally awake,” she said, “you were out for three days. We’re in Cardellia now, that older elf, his name is Jailen, he’s and old friend, he snuck us through the city.” “Mm, thanks for filling me in.” He answered simply. “Now I have a proposition.” She said, giving him a sly look. “And what is that?” “I will give my name, so long as you promise to let me travel with you.” She paused. He thought about it, but wondered if she certain motives, and he figured he’d struggle to provide minimum supplies for them, let alone armor and weapons for her. “You were royal weren’t you. You want to explore the worlds too. I’d bet they didn’t like you either,” he guessed, thinking back to the fight. “Please, the country hates me. Only a few know the truth. Please, I know how to fight, I can help, I’m an elf, my skills are wide range.” She started quiet and got louder, she clearly knew he had the upper hand of the deal. He pondered the idea. She wouldn’t need some of the basic training, fighting and sneezing around, but would need to learn to hunt. She’d need armor and weapons, which could get expensive, and would need to learn about how to sneak around in cities and the like. In the end he figured he could do it. After all, if he didn’t take her under his wing, no one would.“Alright, what’s your name.” She beamed, “Ellaya, where are we going first!?” “Well, I need money, and…wait, where’s my knife?” “You don’t need to worry about either. Julien gave us a bunch of money, so much we could probably travel through three worlds, and I picked up your blue knife and three of those stones you used.” He thought his eyes would come out of his head as he gaped. He cleared his throat and said, “well, uh, in that case, I’m going back to Telenar. Haven’t been home for a while, and last I heard of it there was a big disturbance on one the Six Isles of the Blades. I want to know what that’s about, and maybe we can help my people a little too.” Her face looked so exited that he thought she would start jumping around, “when do we leave?” “Oh, not for a while. I need to recover yet and anyway, we need to go shopping and I need to teach dome things.” He said simply, enjoying the look of joy on Ellaya’s face. he thought to himself. That’s the end of that looks, hope you’ve enjoyed.
