I feel WagakkiBand is a true treasure for Japan and its folkloric and artistic traditions. This group is really a collection of masters in different skills together to create a truly unique experience and expression. I wish more Japanese knew and cherished them and their work. Without even knowing the language or history, there's something uniquely Japanese in the heart of musicians in this group (especially Yuko). I feel a depth and weight that I don't often feel in other Japanese music, maybe because they are able to combine their traditional and modern sensibilities through their technical and creative excellence. From all the reaction I've seen on KZread from international channels I have not seen one negative response to the music! It's always praises and wonder for the beauty and the high technical level! This song should have 10million views. It is so beautiful. Maybe the younger Japanese generations feel this music is "old school", but we outside are actually inspired to look into our own culture and have an excellent presentation like WagakkiBand to share with the world. Even if they don't come back again (which I hope they do) they have left an indelible mark. I hope more people are inspired to add "wagakki" to their musical tools not as an add-on but an integral part of their expression.

Thank you so much for your reply. I can agree you perfectly as Japanese. They have successfully fused the old traditions with the latest in rock and pop, producing something new and seamlessly seamless. Their heavy yet pop sound, which you never get tired of listening to, is only possible with the combination of traditional Japanese instruments and modern rock instruments, also because their songwriting ability and their showmanship.

I love the more accoustic sound to this. The violins and cellos are a nice touch. You can hear more of the traditional instruments which are always fantastic. Great work.

Lovely vocal. Amazing traditional Japanese instruments. Mixed with modern instruments. Love the drums. Love the shimasen. Love the flute. Love everything. One of the finest folk metal bands in the world. Hope they hit 500 million views. Awesome music. Loving it.

音楽業界が腐っているから。
これ程壮大でスケールが大きい曲は過去にあっただろうか。ロックバンドでありながら彼らが作り上げる曲に驚かせられるばかりだ。バラードもとても美しく全てに和のテイストが盛り込まれている。他のアーティストと全く違う様な気がしてならない。別格である。👍👍
かつて、このバンドが デビューした時「こんな 色物バンド 売れるわけない」と 言っていた人達 今 どう 思ってるんでしょうね。

ゆう子さんと町屋さんの共作！！シルクロードをイメージして作ったとゆう子さんが言ってたけど,本当にそんな感じの曲で,さすがやなと思った！！
いま２歳になる子供が中々寝付けないときに聞かせています。ゆうこさんの歌声が落ち着くのか2回目くらいではぐっすりです。両親ともに大ファンです。ゆうこさんのお子様も健やかに育ちますように。

最近单曲循环的曲子，听这首歌的时候总是会幻想着优子是我前世的情人

ゆう子さんの作詞家（詩人）としての能力も、歌唱力や作曲力に加えてすばらしいものがありますね。彼女が幼いころから学んだという詩吟が、和歌や漢詩を吟じる芸ですが、そこで触れてきた古典によってこの作詞の能力が養われたのでしょうか？さらに町屋さんの作詞と作曲の能力も言及しておきたいです。本当にこれほどの多才なグループは他には見つかりません。能力が極めて高いからこそ、薄い大衆的な一時的な広がりではない、本当にプロフェッショナルとしての深い浸透となり、そこを理解できるファン層の継続的な獲得につながったのだろうと思います。世間には情報が溢れすぎていて、日本人の中にもこのバンドに気づけていない人がいると思われますが、学校の音楽の教科書に載っても不思議のない名曲もいくつかあると思っています。

I hope more people are inspired to add "wagakki" to their musical tools not as an add-on but an integral part of their expression.

Thank you so much for your reply. I can agree you perfectly as Japanese. They have successfully fused the old traditions with the latest in rock and pop, producing something new and seamlessly seamless. Their heavy yet pop sound, which you never get tired of listening to, is only possible with the combination of traditional Japanese instruments and modern rock instruments, also because their songwriting ability and their showmanship.
One of the most underrated songs from Wagakki Band. However, all their songs are underrated :(

I agree, Yuko-san is a gift to the world.
I love the more accoustic sound to this. The violins and cellos are a nice touch. You can hear more of the traditional instruments which are always fantastic. Great work.

Yuko wrote and composed this one. Since she's mastered shigin and western classically trained musician. Of the course the result is sublime.
The best six minutes that I've enjoyed in a long while. The song pulled at my heartstrings. Hauntingly beautiful and nostalgic.

You are right, but they are also servicing their local (paying) fanbase much of the time with the same content. I wish there was a safe middle ground.

ライブでこの歌を生で聴いた時は鳥肌が立ちました。 テンポの速いパワフルなロックでも、どんな曲ジャンルの曲を歌っても上手いですが、オキノタユウやIZANAや砂漠の子守唄みたいなバラードはゆう子さんの歌の潜在能力をすべて引き出せていると思います。本当に素晴らしいです。

I can't recall the last time I heard a song that brought into an epic adventure, a deep hidden story where you are the explorer. That song brings me the feeling I'm in the desert searching for an ancient artifact. A Kaleidoscope that crosses time. A compass that decides time. The poison that infects nomads. Each time I listen to this song I almost always discover sounds I missed in previous times. Absolutely beautiful.
よく、歌詞を英訳して欲しいみたいなのを見つけるけど、和楽器バンドとかの歌を聴くといつも、それは難しいだろうと思う。 ※ ここから先は、あくまで個人の感想です。 この「砂漠の子守歌」って、求道者の歌だと思うんですよ。 求めて探して彷徨って見付けられず、手に入れられずに挫折して、それでもまだ諦められなくてもう一度歩き始めたり、力尽きて道半ばで倒れたり、後継者に託したり。 子守歌と言いつつ、ここでいうところの「子」というのは赤子ではなく「未到達な者」「未熟な者」を示しているのではないか、と。だからこそ曲調から歌詞から歌う声までがメランコリックにしてストイックな響きになるーーー日本語で表現すると「憂鬱」で「禁欲的」。 歌詞の中に『手相の上で転げては』という一文があるのだけど、日本人的感覚で意訳すると「他愛もない占いで未来の自分を夢見ては一喜一憂する様」みたいに解釈されると思う。 思うのだけど……こんなの、直訳の英文で通じますかね？ 直訳で、この歌の本質が届きますかね？ だからといって意訳なんて載せるのは以ての外でしょう。だとすると直訳しかない。直訳じゃあ……（思考ループ） 和楽器バンドの歌を聞いたり、歌詞を読むたびにそうやってグルグルしてます。

Lovely vocal. Amazing traditional Japanese instruments. Mixed with modern instruments. Love the drums. Love the shimasen. Love the flute. Love everything. One of the finest folk metal bands in the world. Hope they hit 500 million views. Awesome music. Loving it.
