only one of the bestest bands in the world to ever lay beats on your soul! started listening to helmet when i was still in primary school, started learning how to play their music on the drums just as i started high school... boy were those kids not prepared for what helmet had to offer them! wish these boys were still making real music for us to enjoy. so privileged to have been alive to see these guys with my own two eyes and ears! LEGENDS!

I like how Page's voice sounded on the Betty and Meantime albums. From Size Matters, to present, he just sounded completely different.

@@dub5508 Yep, good description. I remember when Size Matters first came out, in the Citizine magazine described it as: "Page's softer sounding voice sounds as if he's trying to appease to the emo kids". I agree. Not sure why he thought singing in the higher, softer voice was ever a good idea.

Probably because he aged? He was already in his late 30s when the band split in 97, not to mention he smoked and drank alot so his older voice just kinda faded in age. I love every helmet album (besides monochrome) but ill agree with y'all, his voice defined the band in the first era

@@jayechristian9697 IDK, I saw them after Monochrome came out at this small club called The Troubadour in Hollywood. His old tone would return, but then Page seemed to raise his vocal range, kind of looked like he was doing this on purpose. And it usually takes more effort to sing in a higher octave, than singing in a more relaxed octave. His vocals now are either soft, or gruff. No more in-between octaves. But who knows? Regarding 2nd wave Helmet: To me, it was Size Matters that I didn't care for. Besides the first 3 songs which are good, the album kind of trails off into filler-land. I didn't like Seeing Eye Dog much either. Monochrome I didn't mind as I thought the songs had catchy moments. But again it would have been a whole lot better if his old vocals made an appearance. Cheers!
