Gypsy travellers, getting to know their lifestyle, Peterborough, October 1980
Jeremy James investigates the lifestyles of some of Britain's travellers and tries to find out why there is so much distrust of this minority group who say they only want to be left alone. He visits the Oxney travellers site in Peterborough, and talks with traveller Peter Mercer.

This is a while back isn't it ? Do the gypsies pay income tax ? I don't think they do, so there lies the problem. You need to pay your way and can't expect any services for nothing that the rest of society has to pay to have services. I could be wrong, but I think they expect a free ride.

You don’t think they do? Of course they do
R.I.P Peter mercer, youl be missed grandad.
I do feel for children and mothers living in bad conditions, but spare me the BS when the gypsies say they are not responsible for the litter and filth...yes they are, stop the "poor me" attitude. I have seen it all my life where travellers blame everyone else for their misfortunes..unfortunately I don't think it will change.
