Gypsy Rose: Lowrider Legend

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hirohata Merc Custom Legend: • Hirohata Merc: Custom ...
Gypsy Rose is a beautifully painted 1964 Chevrolet Impala designed to go “low and slow” when it cruised East LA in the 1970s. It was known as one of the most extravagantly painted lowriders of the period and was featured in the opening of the 1970s sitcom “Chico and the Man.” Gypsy Rose was featured on the cover of Lowrider Magazine in 1980.

This story needs to be a movie. One thing that really caught my attention is how this car club had morals and values and separated themselves from the gang life. We need more of that, most car clubs now are rebellious and pretty much dangerous to them self and to others acting foolish and making the car club more of a gang then a genuine lifestyle of morals ethics and standards. ORALE! Keep up the good work

Morals and values? The only reason the Jesse had to build the '64 is that a rival club destroyed his first Walt Prey, rose muraled '63 because it always came in first at shows and they were jealous. Some set of morals, ethics and standards, lol.

I thought I was a car enthusiast for knowing makes and models by looking at them, but boy am I wrong! I barely scratch the surface when it comes to the aspects of car culture! I need to level up fast and HVA is helping me a lot with that, thank you!

Thank you Mr Valdez Sr and Jr and the whole Valdez family and friends. Thank you for starting the culture. I can only hope and pray I come from TX to LA just to meet the family. This my fave sort of youtube rabbit hole to go down. Love my cars, bikes, trucks, the road the smell of burnt gasoline from a pack of harleys in front of me you name it! I live for the road it is what I do and love. And the low rider scene is so cool. Love the cheap effort of just loading the trunk or boot up depending where you are from to hit them bump stops for the aesthetic gains.

Luckily for me, my wife knows about my love of cars, she did not say anything about my 7 year restoration on my ' 64 Corvette, so she just let me spend lots of time looking at Gypsy Rose.

It took me a second to realize who/what Gypsy Rose was when I saw the title on my recommended videos and then it hit me... Gypsy Rose... the cover car of Lowrider Magazine from I think it was 1992... holy crap I was 16 when I first saw those pictures of this car in LRM in 92 and I prob haven't seen it since then... takes me back just seeing this beautiful machine. Great little piece here, no clue why YT recommended it to me but I am so glad I decided to click on it. I learned a lot abut this car, it sure does have an illustrious past. Bravo. edit: Though I am no longer into the Lowrider movement or style of cars I do still have an infatuation and major LOVE of automobiles and have owned a 25th anniversary Firebird Trans Am (with 60k original miles now) for the last 27 years.

For a while here in Oahu Hawaii had all the Lowrider bike clubs that would ride through the island every Friday night and cruise the strips and then that stopped.
