Ripping out your child’s teeth, organs, and inserting a feeding tube among other things for absolutely no reason at all is BEYOND abuse. Imagine defending her mother.

@@martinezgonzalez11 I don’t think he was manipulated, it sounds like he just wanted to be with gypsy and Dede was in the way of that, and he also realized she was being abused & isolated so badly that killing her was the only way out. She was never gonna let her leave the house and make friends or have a partner, so he likely felt that he had no other choice. He also prolly knew that Gypsy wouldn’t/couldn’t muster the courage to do it herself cuz it was after all her mom… I actually feel really bad for the guy cuz it seems like he was only trying to save her and be with her, and it backfired on him in the worst way

Since GMA recounted Gypsy's story in the segment, unnecessary medical procedures, teeth extractions, falsified diagnoses, etc. Wouldn't the objective facts be enough, at least in this case, to warrant leaving out "allegedly?" Maybe they legally always have to say "allegedly," but it seems disrespectful to Gypsy, and in poor taste.

She was basically tortured by her mother for years, so in my opinion, she should not have done any prison time. Victims who kill their abusers need help, therapy, support, not prison time, especially when it involves a child who the “system” failed to protect. But, I also feel that she did manipulate her boyfriend and he received an unfairly long sentence. He should be imprisoned for maybe 10-15 years and then be able to get out if he is reformed because he was also young and autistic. This case certainly shines a light on the disparity and unfairness of the US legal system.

She merits a reconsideration in court without resorting to dishonesty under oath. Although she has entered a new relationship, it's worth noting that she received attention from numerous men while in prison. Her initial husband, whom she married while incarcerated, faced hostility from someone who disapproved of him, leading to an unwelcoming environment that ultimately resulted in their divorce. This situation saddened Gypsy, and the individual orchestrating these events continues to exhibit controlling behavior.

From what Dee Dee's siblings said their mom always had Dee Dee by her hip and she was always sick and got all the attention etc. When their mom died it devastated Dee Dee and she would do anything for attention. So I believe Dee Dee's mom contributed to her mental disorder. People with munchausen by proxy want attention so they either fake illnesses on themselves or use their children. Unfortunately for Gypsy her mom did what Dee Dee's mom did to her. Not making excuses for her mother but usually this munchausen develops from emotional trauma or illness during childhood.

He had other offenses and wanted to kill someone and never showed remorse for it. I know he's autistic but I know people who are autistic and when they do something they shouldn't, they act like they feel bad. He didn't. I heard he was set for a new trial. As far as Gypsy she was terrified of her mother. She tried to escape and Dee Dee tracked her down and tied her to a bed for two weeks. She also had a lawyer that had paperwork declaring Gyspy was mentally incompetent and not to take her seriously. A lot of.people failed her. Why didn't the doctors do more investigating? They just did what Dee Dee said without any proof of there being anything wrong with Gyspy.

  • @sasham2180

Gypsy has NEVER been free in her entire lifetime up until now. She was so tightly controlled and isolated for her whole life up until prison. She couldn't break free of her abuser, she was mentally and physically trapped. Going to prison was probably a relief and respite from life with DeeDee, which is so incredibly sad. I feel for her so much. She just wants to be free and to experience life. She missed her entire youth and young adulthood. Who cares if she's enjoying the attention??? She deserves to bask in her freedom and live her life to the absolute fullest. This is her first time in the real world. She's so well spoken and intelligent, but that doesn't mean that the gap from her lifetime of imprisonment isn't there. So I think people need to be kinder to her and stop calling her an attention seeking murderer. DeeDee was the monster and Gypsy was a goddamn saint to have lasted as long as she did. Killing your captor is self defense in my book.

I'm happy for her- I truly am- but I do not like her attitude towards Nicholas's situation. Yes he did the actual physical killing, but she completely manipulated him into doing it. Without her, he wouldn't be in prison for life and it's like she wants to just sweep him under the rug. It's obvious he had some mental deficiencies and was impressionable and now he's rotting in prison for life, forgotten by the one he killed for. It's just sad.

this isn’t true and was misportrayed in the act. Nick already had an extensive and violent criminal record before meeting Gypsy. he fantasized about killing her mom. he wanted to SA dee dee after killing her and Gypsy was so horrified she said to SA her instead. that’s not consent, that’s coercive. his own doctors testified that he would be very likely to recommit violent crimes if released. bottom line, she got only a few years because she was unlikely to recommit since she was escaping abuse. he is extremely likely to recommit.

She manipulated and sacrificed another human rotting in jail to escape from her devil mother. She could have done what Ruby's Frankie kids did. There was no reason to murder her mom. Her mom could have been spending the rest of her pathetic life in prison (similar as Rubi Franke and Jodi Hildebrandt) instead of her ex boyfriend spending life in prison. I believe Gipsy Rose does have some evil personality traits from her mom too.

The mother had legal guardianship, claiming her daughter was incompetent, when she ran away, the mother had that and all the medical paperwork to back up her lies about her daughter. The police returned her, the Mother broke her phone and laptop, and chained her to a bed. Dee Dee had innumerable medical people, charities, the father, people who would be involved about her being disabled and not in school, all convinced for years. @@candylicious3024 Because she endured all that barbaric abuse from her mother all those years, so therefore there was more sympathy towards her. In contrast, the bf brutally murdered someone just because somebody told him to. He had no understandable vendetta against the mother, unlike Gypsy. If you ask me, I wouldn't want someone like that let out yet either. He's unpredictable, and if he loves someone enough, he'll kill for them. He also has a history of violence. That's scary. Gypsy was wrong for what she did, but she is the one who went through that horrible ordeal all her life, so garners way more sympathy. Should he be let out eventually?
