It's not by got to scale, but it is a nice color to explore!
cool solo in the end! you really know what you're doing. and thanks for the educative effort
Wow, so useful you just made my night!!!
I like this guy. He knows how to talk to classical musicians :)
So Great !!! You really helped me a lot ... I'll continue learning more from you =)
God bless you Thank you for your superb lesson.Very insightful ,concise, helpful. Great lesson.
very very good lesson !!
Yes. Studied both "folk" fiddle and classical violin from the beginning.
It´s great!! Thank you!
Thanks a lot.
Wooooo, well done!!!! :)
@dorinp4 i've worked with jason as well and he's absolutely fantastic and has a slightly different style that is heavily influenced by florin niculescu (who adds a bit of classical/gypsy touch to his playing).... that said, grappelli often started vibrato right away as well, just listen to his early recordings with django; but i'd say it's a different kind of vibrato than classical.
Wow!!!!
@dorinp4 haha did you get that from the tim kliphuis dvd ? (i'm the producer) I made up most of the actual lesson plan of the DVD and tim refined it. On the vibrato issue, I wish he hadn't said what he said, it makes it seem like a hard rule, but we had very limited studio time and I let that in.... but the vibrato issue is much more complex than that... of course we don't always want a classical vibrato (it can be useful in ballads) but that doesn't mean it always it can't be started right away
muy bien!
There are several tips for how to learn the violinDecide exactly why you want to learn the violinEnsure that you are committed to play the violinDecide what method works for you best - an online guide or a personal tutor or lessons.(I discovered about these and more from Ajana Music Lessons website )
Can you help me find a way to get a reprint of the original article? I checked the magazine website and they seem to be out of summer 2009 back issues. Thanks

Very helpful. Also, you're cute. I don't see any New Orleans in your schedule. I've been trying to get Sue Buzzard to come to Nola as well, but now Berklee stole her too.
Where exactly are the scores of this in the Fiddler magazine? Couldnt find them.
Hi Jason, what kind of chin rest is that? thx.

First time on YT I see so long-necked violinist. It's not easy to find a good violin set-up for a long neck.

haha. yes I know the problem...
you played a A minor melodic scale, not harmonic

I think it's actually the sixth chord which introduces the #F note, not really a fixed melodic minor scale.
Sounds like Caravan palace :)
