Long story that I won't go into. I have not opened the Cure but I will be following your process going forward so thanks for the tip. Many detailers will have personal preferences towards brands and types of ceramic. It doesn't always necessarily mean one is better or worse. Gyeon professional ceramic I believe to be pretty good. Gyeon pure is more of a prosumer product. I don't love the installation of pure. Id prefer mohs evo. But I don't love mohs either. I'm a firm believer gtechniq Crystal serum light is one of the best ceramic coatings ever made and exo v5 is the best ceramic topper available currently... No contest on exo. V4 was great. V5 is shockingly even better. CSL and exo will last longer as well. Q2 wax is nice. But durability isn't amazing. However it will bead water like nuts. Id throw that on your csl exo. Ever year or 6 months or whatever you like really. Thanks for watching my videos 🤝

    @@STATUSDETAIL Thanks for the insight! So besides the difficulty of Pure installation (which my detailer will do), are there any other reasons that you think it would be "awful" for me, the car owner? Also, installation will be outdoors under a canopy if that factors into the equation. I do park outside 24/7. Durability of Pure is up to 3 years which is comparable to single layer CSL, but with more of a candy gloss which appeals to me. EXO V5 is an amazing durable sacrificial layer, but doesn't Q2 Wax or Wet Coat on top of Pure give more flexibility in case of water spots, etchings, etc? Wax on top of EXO sounds like overkill?

  • @STATUSDETAIL

    @STATUSDETAIL

    @@2toniq gyeon I think says outdoor installations are possible. I would definitely personally not try and do a ceramic coating outside. But that's just me And my opinion. It is possible just difficult. Q2 wax and WetCoat are more like weekly and every couple months maintenance. Exo is more like an annual or every two-year maintenance. The bottom line is EXO is a real ceramic coating. Q2 wax is definitely not "real ceramic"

    Wow, one year already since posted. I ordered it recently and wanted to give it chance. I used it the traditional way, removed any protection and put this wax on my plain piano black 991.2 4S. The hydrophobic reaction is absolutely insane, the absolute best I ever experienced as a weekend warrior level for many years. I was lazy, I regret I didn't put a layer of ceramic coating before. I see some very, very light haze though but I am very OCD. Not blaming the wax, it might be a bonding issue I created. It's very, very minor. Anyway, plain black is so difficult to treat.

    An additional question I haven’t found an answer to involves using Carpro reset on top of gyeon wax. Is this ok? Will it degrade the wax or is it safe to wash with ? Thanks for taking the time to answer so many questions. I’ve watched many of your videos now and follow the comments if I run into questions. However I haven’t seen this question asked. Thx in advance!

  • @STATUSDETAIL

    @STATUSDETAIL

    Жыл бұрын

    It's a good question because reset makes it sound like it's going to strip everything and reset your car. The intention of that name is that it's resetting the car back to its previous condition of ceramic coating protection or sealant protection. So Car pro reset is safe on all cars with any kind of sealant or ceramic coating or Gyeon wax for example. It's actually going to clean all the stuff off your car and make it bead water like you just installed the wax! Reset can be slightly aggressive if you under dilute it. Basically if you put it in the foam cannon and it's like five or six oz. That's kind of a lot in my start to hit your sealant a tiny bit but that would not bother the ceramic coating still.

    Nice video. You said in this video that the wax came with an applicator and a very nice microfiber towel that you used and that microfiber towel is no longer suitable for use. Why is that? It's wax, so we can wash the towel and reuse it. When is a microfiber towel no longer usable? I've been using the same towel again and again.

  • @STATUSDETAIL

    @STATUSDETAIL

    2 жыл бұрын

    I do suppose you can try and wash it. That didn't actually come to mind for some reason! In general the wax built up in the towel from doing multiple cars and just didn't remove the wax like you would want it too. Kind of like the microfibers got clogged with wax. On my first ever application I put wax to much wax in too so the towel got extra clogged up on removal. Obviously my fault. I have not tried to wash that towel before so it's possible it cleans up nicely. I have a million towels soo I'm never afraid to grab a new one to make sure I'm working with clean fresh stuff

    That RS had mystery Ceramic from another company. It appeared to be In good health during the wash. The Customer is switching to us for maintenance and future large ceramic details so we are just going to make his current ceramic last as long as possible! Q2 wax works on ceramic coated surfaces and non ceramic coated surfaces. I believe it works a little better on previous ceramic as it is designed as a ceramic wax or topper for what's underneath. But you can't apply it wrong like traditional ceramic so it's a great intro product to ceramic based sealant for beginners. The ceramic detailer is brand new. Companies tend to recommend whatever is new for obvious reasons. You can use ceramic Detailer. (white) quick detailer (blue) or cure. All will help remove the leftover wax. Of the three cure adds the most depth and gloss. It also beads water the best and last the longest. It's also the most expensive. You can technically remove wax with water in a spray bottle. You just want lubrication and something to kinda soften it on removal 🙂👍
