1. You can check the motor oil by unscrewing the oil dipstick and using a paper towel and if oil is really black change it by using the same oil 10w30,,,, you cannot reset the odometer,.if your scooter only has 9 miles on it , it's still under warranty toll you reach 800miles, you can possibly buy 10w30 conventional oil on amazon or at your local walmart. One of my friends recommended that I change the gy6 engine oil, when I just bought the motorcycle and use conventional oil, not synthetic 10w-30 10w-40, for the first 500 miles to help the engine break in, an then use synthetic oil is this true?

how new is your scooter? And does it have any kind of warranty? Did your scooter come with a owner's manual??
