Pre-cut paint protection film on the headlights keep it from yellowing again and gives you added impact protection

I had that stuff on my old Acura on the hood bumper and front fenders. It did a great job and when I pealed it off 7 years later, the paint looked factory new. I wanted to do that on the GX but it was really expensive to have done and looked hard to do yourself. Headlights sound doable.

@@WastingTimeInTheWoods much easier than vinyl since you slide it around with a wet soapy solution, and tack it down with an alcohol solution. And even if you mess up, it’s clear!

@@WastingTimeInTheWoods from my experience doing 4 cars, the 2010-2013 GX460 looks pretty easy too. Start in the middle and stretch it out til you hit the fender. Then squeegee away. I have a 2021 Sienna XSE, way too many curves and peaks for me to try and most of it is grill. My tips. Have 64oz of bubble solution (6 drops of soap and distilled water) so you don’t run out mid application. Do it on a cool day, I made the mistake of doing it in summer and it evaporated the sliding solution. And you can adjust and spray soapy solution almost unlimited times. The adhesive is fine. It’ll be nice if they could sold the grill but with just the Lexus logo cut out instead of the lettering

Don't think it's an option for the mid-refresh '14-19s... wasn't a few weeks ago, but I'm chasing that or the spindle-style pop-in parts for my otherwise gorgeous '14.

I couldn't find it in your other videos, but were the handles once chrome as well? If so how did you turn them black, and did you maintain the keyless entry?

I didn't think I'd like the new grill but it's really grown on me. I put the OEM grill in the attic in case I change my mind : ) I used plasti and did about 10-12 coats with good prep. I did the 'L' emblem too but it split open after about a year and I peeled it off. If I were doing it again I'd use bed liner paint to make it perm.

Just got a GX460 in part from seeing its capability stock showcased on your channel! Since I’m already looking to mod it, what lift do you have on yours? Have you had issues?

Awesome! Yeah, sorry, my lift video is taking forever because I've been working with the sponsor to make sure I get some technical stuff correct. It will hopefully be the next video. We went with IronMan FCP. I love the performance for the price. We did have a few minor issues which I'll cover in detail the video.

Zero haze, but the micro cracks remain.

Where in the PHX area did you find a drive through carwash that could accommodate the hight and the rack? The ones I've gone to so far have all turned me away.

That was a Full Circle Auto Wash I believe and they're all over the valley. They drive it through so maybe that's why?

Does anyone know how to get one of these grills. It seems garage alpha is sold out and I’m not sure where else to look

I actually like it more now. I thought I would go back to the stock grill sometime but doubt it now. The new Toyotas and Lexi use characters instead of the badge logo so I think it freshened it up and alpha Did a great job on it. It’s holding up well.

I like it! I didn’t think it would look quite right because of the gx’s soft body lines but I changed my mind after a day or two and plan to keep it at least for a while.

What do you suggest? I replaced my wife’s third GEN headlights with some fancy projector housings I built… But the GX factory headlights are pretty dang fancy. Are there better options?

@@WastingTimeInTheWoods I just wish they were darker. They may be my first BHLM. I've owned about a dozen Toyotas over the last 20 years and I've seen them and read about them, just never did it. My Knight's Armor Pearl GX is getting picked up on Friday. Can't wait!
