A bit of trivia, Gwen McGrae was actually supposed to sing her husband George's "Rock Your Baby" but George wound up making the record himself. "Rock Your Baby" also inspired Rockin' Chair which propelled Gwen to stardom in her own right when it was released. "Rock Your Baby" was written by Harry Wayne Casey (K.C. of K.C. and the Sunshine Band) and his partner and band mate at the time, Richard Finch. It was the beginnings of the Disco movement/era. "Rockin Chair" was Gwen's only hit and she is now part of the "one hit wonder" club of the 1970's along with her husband George. They may be the only "one hit wonder" husband and wife duo ever to EACH have their own separate super hit. Gwen's version of Rock Your Baby sung here is what Rock Your Baby would have been if Gwen had originally done the song as intended.

Glamorous , great singer and such expression , I'm so glad to have heard "keep the fire burning" , In the eighties because this is an amazing artist , the production is superb and so soulful. It is a mystery to me why Gwen didn't have more success because she is a natural, a class one performer.

I love this song it remind me of my boyfriend he came in my dream in a super natural way and he held me and rock me it seem too real and he brought me flower hanging from the ceiling I played this sound too for us which he passed away last yr. In oct.the 9th and came to me the last if nov. This us a powerful song wow. I love you too baby/ craig mckeney and jasmine mckeney with our everlasting flame.

I was looking at photos of them together vs photos of him with the current wife and the ones with George and Gwen seem to give off more of a soul connection vibe to me. That’s just what I’m getting. Does anybody else get that? I’m curious.
