David Letterman is a comic genius. Presenting it in diminishing order, as if by accident. But the laughs kept increasing.

Paul's laugh totally made this bit... especially the bit at 7:01... "That's very sporting of you to put it that way!" Slays me!

Dave could make anything turn to gold, no matter how unfunny something is he always makes it amusing at the very least. He saved the 2nd half of this segment for sure

Im in ireland and i loved watching that show. When i was in ny i failed to get a ticket but i got a few tshirts in the hello deli just outside. Dave and jay leno were great

That second guy, the coach looked more like Dave than any of them, except he was a lot heavier and the guy in the assisted living ad looks like a 90 year old Dave.

No, there was no resemblance in term of face features. Just admit it that the only common feature is Diastema (gap in teeth)

That was part of the Late Show humor. Poor quality everything lol. I remember a time he said the grand prize for some segment was a 1994 Ford Taurus

My doctor looked like a meld of Dan Aykroyd and Dave Letterman.

It would be so funny if they had just photo shopped Dave's picture on different people, men AND women.

I think what they did was just find people who had glasses and were smiling in the way Letterman smiles. Still, it was funny.

I was hoping they'd sneak in John Michael Higgins from The Late Shift just to trigger Dave.

Howard Tobin looks like the love child of Dave and Michael Rapaport. After the first three, not a one of them of 'em bore even a slight resemblance to Dave. In fact, the most notable thing was how much columnist Larry Sisterman looked like columnist Bob Graef. Now, you know that at some point during the work day, Dave sat down with segments producers, writers etc. and went through the desk piece. He must've known how lame it was, but, like Carson before him, he was able to make silk purses out of sows' ears.

Michael Shannon could play Dave in the Late Night movie.

Funny thing is, there was a university of Wisconsin professor that really did look like letterman, only with bushier eyebrows. Can’t remember the name, but the guy was a chem professor at the marathon county campus in the 80’s when I was there. I was at Madison when Wiley was a professor, and he looked nothing like letterman, though that’s the joke, isn’t it...

when Bevis and Butt-Head were on his show i couldn't help but notice Bevis' close resemblance to Letterman... could he be a long lost son?

Why?

Where most of them failed was around the lower jaw/chin areas, and the face. Too wide. Most resemblances due to the smile, eyes and glasses, narrower face, and hair. IMO. 😊

I think the reason these pictures were chosen was they were smiling, wearing glasses, etc. They had Dave's trademarks down.

Nobody get mad at me.... I think Paul Shaffer is horrible. He's not funny and the band sucks.
