Disturbing yes, absolutely but also just so incredibly sad. Imagine how lonely and disconnected one would have to feel to engage in something like this. Mental illness definitely plays a huge role here but imagine how isolated, shamed and empty they must feel to have convinced themselves that this is real. I think there's an underlying fear of abandonment that seems to be present in all of these men. People are unpredictable and they always leave but they have full control over these dolls and obviously a doll will never leave. The doll can also never hurt them, reject them or break their heart. These men are socially inept, they have such low self esteem and because their life size doll accepts them for exactly who they are. It's a relationship that requires no real effort on their part and it's also all about them, the relationship is completely non transactional. They are living in a fantasy quite literally but that also means they are living detached from reality. I feel like I am a 9/10 with the exception of my face, which I would rate about 4/10. I am loyal, affectionate, a good cook, I work hard, I give good bjs...
